Hover your mouse pointer over the user name left of the post. A window should appear with an 'Ignore' button in the bottom right corner. One, as expected, we see UKR troops off the main roads, I am guessing they are working into ambush position for RU troops near roads. Two, they are just bristling w AT weapons. Three, DANG THAT IS SCARY! Out there in the woods w nothing but twigs between a soldier and AK rounds; this aint paintball. Brave men, well armed. My hat is off to them. Sgt Joch
re: China I personally don't think we can draw that many parallel with the current crisis. Despite the rhetoric, I doubt China has serious plans to invade Taiwan. 1. Taiwan has been independent for 70 years; 2. Taiwan has few natural resources. China is resource poor and a major aim of its foreign policy for the past 20 years has been to develop access to more natural resources; 3. The Chinese leadership is more risk adverse than Russia. Xi Jinping does not rule China, the Communist Party rules China. Xi does not have the same freedom of action that Putin has. One wrong move, like an invasion of Taiwan that does not work and he would be out. What China wants to do, it is already doing, namely gaining control of the South China Seas and its natural resources.
Kinophile
It would be nice if this thread focussed solely on military aspects of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. Its like the slower pace of Russian advance has given us all a pause to breathe and absorb while they stagger forward/regroup, giving us time to get distracted by dramatic, useless, irrelevant clickbait garbage. I don't want to sound dogmatic/snotty, but....I personally have no interest in Taiwan, in regards to this invasion - I do see the correlations/parallels/implications ref that island, and it certainly would be fascinating in another thread, but here its a distraction of pure speculation. danfrodo
yes, too much distraction, but also some amazing content. More smashed russian units, the latest one from desertFox was tanks, not just trucks & light armor. There's some punching going on.

The wide variety of AT weapons being carried and the fact that almost everyone seemed to have one. The days of one A/T weapon per squad/section seem to be dedlining, at least if you are facing a heavily mechanised opponent.
