No performance issues here with any Combat Mission games using an i5 9600k (no overclock) and my recently purchased RTX 3060 ti. Using Nvidia image scaling at 2560x1440 with all settings at best ColdWar looks fantastic.

You don't have to explain to me how the game utilizes hardware. I also never said that it is a GPU issue.
All I can say is that with the guide linked above, the CM games run pretty fine for me now. (There is a lot of headroom for optimization, clearly!)
One thing I haven't asked: are you playing in real-time or turn-based? Because the real-time thing is a nightmare performance-wise.

Really looking forward for the expansion to CMFB and even more for CMCW!

Great news this morning with the soon to be released Battle Pack. Even better news that @George MC is behind it. Top class design is to be expected. Stating that it has been "a labor of love" sure points to something of great value for us players.  I have been away from CM for a while for various reasons but this will pull me back in again for sure.
But seriously Battlefront, know your value - 10 USD to too low of a price.

Doesn't the base game come with "default textures"?  As you say, there are many smock mods, but by definition they are not "default".

Re-posting this as I know he was a well known figure among the early Combat Mission titles.  I remember his scenarios well from those early days of CM.  RIP "Wild" Bill Wilder.

Highly unlikely. BF have always focused on the European theatre for their WW2 titles. I believe this is to do with the game engine's over the years, but also a degree of personal preference amongst BF themselves. There's also a lot of variety in tactical engagements and forces available in Europe relative to the Pacific which would be a highly infantry only affair in many cases.

Thats a fantastic idea. Simple and can be extremely powerful.

I agree, I wish BFC would spend a little extra to make the weapons look normal.

Yup, when you select them in the editor they come attached to a MT-LB which carries the crew, and also carries an additional ten 100mm rounds.

But, to be fair, the actual work in doing them is pretty minimal. And I do get a lot of requests for them, I might as well get it over with. Got a few weeks of vacation coming and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks mate but shame about the silhouettes. For what it's worth, pretty pretty pretty please. So close to unified UI across all the CM WW2 titles.
