Jace11 got a reaction from purpheart23 in Shock Force2 v2.06 patch is now available
Nice that they fixed the T-90s but
Gil still broke, even worse, the hotfix I made for it doesn't work anymore 😪.
They changed it from firing out at the angle of the launcher, to a totally horizontal launch now, then it falls into the same ground-skimming obstacle-seeking flight profile.

Jace11 got a reaction from Lethaface in bug texture MT-LMB 6MB
it's a model problem, not unusual in CM games, no need to reinstall
the suspension has no texture name in 6mb variant
a patch is coming soon but I dont know if this will be fixed or not
so i had a go at fixing it > https://www.mediafire.com/file/qpg1j7fp4ngeusa/mt-lbm-6mb.mdr/file

Jace11 got a reaction from The Steppenwulf in How Hot is Ukraine Gonna Get?
Watching him for a week or two now. I like the name - 'Mr Pointy Stick Man' best (he has lots of names on western social media, Professor of Death is one). He's very matter of fact but he doesnt like worms
I've been watching way too much footage, I feel next to nothing, maybe only some pity when its mobiks getting wasted, but some footage today of ukr troops on the receiving end filled me with anger. I'm sure its unhealthy, I need a break from it I think.

Jace11 reacted to Lethaface in Game worth buying?
The campaigns/master maps are excellent but I agree with Greyfox that the QB maps aren't really great for PBEMs. Mostly smallish and a bit bland, little to none complex terrain bar a few.

Jace11 reacted to Grey_Fox in Game worth buying?
I think it's worth the purchase.
If you want a sort-of demo, steam offers a full refund if you play for less than 2 hours and you have owned the game for less than 2 weeks.
The campaigns are uniformly excellent.
The standalone scenarios range from excellent to very mediocre.
The quick battle maps are quite poor, just the same ones you have in Black Sea and I think Red Thunder, which are usually absurdly small for modern-ish weapons systems (and worse for Black Sea). You'd be well-advised to import some master maps if you are into PBEMs.

Jace11 got a reaction from Artkin in Some Snow-Covered Flavor Objects for Christmas
A selection of snow-covered flavor objects for CM:FB.
Includes: Petrol Pump, Post Box, Barrels, Water Pumps, Wood Piles, Tires, Some Sacks (from Santa!), Fuel Drums.
I was able to duplicate models for barrels and drums, but use a different texture if they are sideways or upright. This way they look nice with snow added, but it means I had to include the non-snow versions of these too otherwise it all gets messed up.
They may work OK in other titles too but I haven't tested them there.
Download link: Mediafire
Might also have a dig around in my folders and scrape together a few other bits and bobs I've made for the other CM titles.

Jace11 got a reaction from S-Tank in CMFB (Unofficial) Screenshot Thread
End of Meijel Mayhem, Tactical Defeat for me as the German's but mostly cause I ran out of time, was playing for fun and focusing on force preservation (lost only 3 tanks - 1 PzV, 1 Luchs, 1 JzPzIVA). Nice scenario, lots of issues regarding movement to consider, an open flank, mud off-road, canals, mines, choke-points. Quite interesting overall.
In progress game Battle for Chaumont - Second Round, again trying to keep everyone alive. Lost a PaK40 and a StuG III, one JgPzIV damaged so far. I spent the first 10 minutes setting up C2 links, something I didn't do when I played this a year or two ago. I felt it was necessary as you get 4 or 5 separate formations as the Germans and they can't all deploy close to each other so it required some HQ's and platoon leaders to act as liaisons, but it was well worth it. Once the spotting information got disseminated to the StuG brigade and the Jagdpanzers, we could edge forward and engage the various Sherman positions one at time. Still got 59 minutes left, gotta get the infantry moving into the town now...

CMFB Flak36-37mm will slew its gun barrel sideways instead of elevating it when engaging aircraft. May also be present in some other titles, but Red Thunder has a model with the correct animations if anyone wants to swap out the models to get rid of this bug. Seeing as the last patch for CMFB was over 2 years ago it might be quicker to fix it yourselves.
