h2h opponent cmbn CMBN looking for opponent
Badger73 replied to Gen_Dumitrescu's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Check out The Few Good Men (http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/) if you think you''ll be looking for H2H opponents on a regular basis. -
According to @JoMc67, what you and I believe appears to be untrue. In this case, he states that these particular animation mods include string alterations which change the animation "stance" processed by the code besides the normal skin changes you and I see in the game. Stance establishes target profile. Diminishing the profile reduces the probability for being damaged / taking hits. That would affect game play.

@JoMc67 thank you for claryfying. Here are 2 I found Alternative cower - http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=744 Alternative buddy aid - http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=713 @Erwin, I'm concerned you may be correct. Even if an unintended consequence, this does put non-mod using players at disadvantage in their H2H matches.

How so? Please elaborate. I thought the Mod only changed the animation and not any underlying code or logic.

@Erwin, based on tests conducted and recorded, (@SLIM's TTP's come to mind) within the Combat Mission games, @Josey Wales is correct. The software logic touched by Fatigue attributes does not appear to include any degradation of pixeltruppen marksmanship.

@Steinfisch, when you're cleared to proceed, consider CMMODSIII as the place to publish such a tool - http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/

Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures
Badger73 replied to General Jack Ripper's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
@Mord, I think @SLIM wants to show how to successfully street fight / urban assaults up and along a street corridor when its the only avenue of approach available. He mentions that just the street and its adjacent building are "in bounds" for his demonstration purposes. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.- 61 replies

What Computer Games Get "Wrong" about War
Badger73 replied to Hister's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Military History Visualized responded to my message at his website. Here is the email I received today. ==================================================================================== Military History Visualized <militaryhistoryvisualized@gmail.com> Reply | 18-Nov-2017 9:07 AM Hi, thank you for your kind words and suggestions. Sadly, I don't really have time to play most games anymore, I played the demo of the first combat mission game back in the early 2000s. Cheers, MHV -
Road to Nijmegen: The Heuman Lock Bridge not playable
Badger73 replied to DeutschRitter's topic in CM2 General Tech Support
Seems to be a common issue - Good you have a save file, just not sure who needs to see it. -
Dat is grappig!

Any news about CMFI 4.0 release
Badger73 replied to markus544's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
As @Mord sayeth, all release and patch info is currently covered in that Centralized Forum. Title forums now tend to focus on what's out and playable at the time of the posting. -

Dou You Like Large Or Small Scenarios?
Badger73 replied to user1000's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
Small to Medium, both scenario's and QB's. Even though it's Field Grade capable, I think Combat Mission shines best at Company Grade / Kampfgruppe or smaller levels. -
If I recall correctly: Quick vs Fast also depends. Fast troops don't hesitate as soon as Quick ones might.

Problem with faces not showing
Badger73 replied to AlexUK's topic in CM Final Blitzkrieg Maps and Mods
Need more info. What scenario / just this scenario? Only Luftwaffe forces? Any mods? Which ones? Is this a new problem for you? When did it appear / what changes happened beforehand? Help us help you. -
An Idea - 'Steel Mode' Assymetric WeGo gameplay.
Badger73 replied to Kuderian's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
I fully agree with Steve on this one. Longer WEGO turns result in fewer opportunities to react as play develops. Picture a setback/interruption to a unit's movement after 10-15 seconds. With one minute WEGO, they can only do a 45 second task which you didn't anticipate. With two minute WEGO, they have over 90 seconds of unintended results you have to undo when you regain control. I think loger WEGO turns takes away the player's control instead of enhancing it. Just push that big Red Button sooner an dmore often when you want to play faster. -
CMSF bought in 2007 with elicence, not in my account
Badger73 replied to Pandur's topic in CM2 General Tech Support
I fully concur. The other thing a ticket accomplishes is insuring that Battlefront's Combat Mission License Database gets properly updated so that your authorized keys function properly for future on-line activations. Good luck! -
@StieliAlpha and @JoMc67 I am active in The Few Good Men and have found very reliable opponents for my H2H gaming; scenario's, QB's, and tournaments. I understand that clubs carry baggage and involve more time but I think you both would find FGM satisfactory obtaining solid opponents. If you chose that route, I would like to know how things go. Good luck and good gaming!

Count me too among those who would like to see the pre-v4.00 behavior regarding this. Thank you.
