  1. @DougPhresh Consider posting to The Scenario Depot III - http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/ On the lower left, "Request to become an Author". Once granted, you should be able to upload each and all, one at a time with individual comments. Please keep us posted.
  2. Not in the middle of a firefight! As others point out, no weapon is trustworthy until you check it out personaly and supply yourself sufficient ammunition. Additionally, troops on one side have this tendency to fire at the sounds of enemy weapons. The fastest way to draw friendly fire is to make noise with an enemy weapon. Again, not in the middle of an ongoing firefight but certainly afterwards (which was done historically). The US 82nd Airborne Division captured some Panzerfäuste in the Sicilian campaign, and later during the fighting in Normandy. Finding them more effective than their own Bazookas, they held onto them and used them during the later stages of the French campaign, even dropping with them into the Netherlands during Operation Market Garden. They captured an ammunition dump of Panzerfäuste near Nijmegen, and used them through the Ardennes Offensive toward the end of the war.
  3. Here's the pertinent part posted 9-July-2017 "As for announcing what is coming out and when... well, we're working on that. With Chris gone it's put a bit of a wrinkle in our plans. Nothing is getting cut, but things might not be coming out in the order we had intended. In the works right now are: 1. CMFI Rome to Victory (2nd and final Module for CMFI) 2. CMRT Module One (yet to be named, but takes the game through to the end of the war) 3. CMSF2 which brings the original content into the current Engine 4 environment We have several other things being worked on this year, but the above are the three we're focusing on at the moment. Steve" And more posted 10-July "Sadly, Rome To Victory is the one project most affected by Chris' departure because it was unusually dependent upon his scenario work for the campaign. Usually we have the work more dispersed, but this one was mostly on him. Which probably contributed to the burn out. We're VERY far along in many ways, but the content is still in need of quite a bit of work. Steve"
  4. I always thought that was because I wasn't following the film correctly . . . .
  5. I concur with @StieliAlpha. Focus on the parts which would players would find exciting to play.
  6. Check out the Royal Italian Army Guastatori formations; combat engineers with squads of satchel charge armed infantry, machine-gun sections, and brexia mortars. Their morale is decent enough to make them pretty effective in urban combat. There weren't that many units of them historically but I've had fun in my games with them.
  7. I suppose the most realistic sim is the one that wounds or kills you . . . Short of that, I think Combat Mission is an exceptional tactical wargame and Command Ops 2 a very good operational wargame. Unlike RTS shooters, they let you see the battles unfold and show you the how your decisions affect combat results.
  8. @JLouis For solo play, CMBN big bundle has more scenario's than any of the other WW2 modules. It also has the greatest number of community designed scenario's at The Scenario Depot (TDS III) http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/. CMBF is the game which represents the 1944 battles for France. As others have said though, it really depends on your interests. The game engine and mechanics are the same for all titles. The troop qualities and organizational equipment differ in each theater. CMRT is East Front '44. CMFB is Ardennes '44 and the battle for Germany 1945. CMFI is Sicily '43 and Italy '44. They are all very good.
  9. Nice find! Excellent AAR. Very professionally done. Great tactical tips. Have added Josey Wales to my subscription list. Thank you, Pericles.
  10. Three crewmen (driver, loader, gunner) could still fight the vehicle defensively but in a very nervous state at reduced visibility and half their MG's. Two crewmen could fire defensively at a very reduced rate of fire in a state of near panic and over-riding self-preservation. They would either bail out if taking enemy fire or withdraw the vehicle to cover and safety.
  11. Read up on RezExplode functionality in the CM Engine Manual. It's in your game's "Mod Tools" folder. You likely will want to know this stuff if you want to mod uniform skins.
  12. @Battlefront.com (Steve), Will the 4.0 upgrade come with a Master Installer for CMFI? I discovered that I have the Half-track bug and need to figure out how to uninstall & re-install patches & 3.0 upgrade in correct order. I would so much appreciate the One Ring to rule them All if it doesn't involve moral corruption . .
  13. Is it possible to provide Player Aid squad/platoon TO&E's for the forces in CMFI as well as CMBN, CMRT, and CMFB? PDF's on the website perhaps? I ask because QB's don't provide that level of detailed information per se, nor is it available in the game manuals. It's one thing to know that specific units are available but a very different thing to know how they might be equipped for specific time frames. I would really like this kind of Player Aid and might even be coerced to volunteer for its development. Thanks for your efforts.
  14. Good news, that. My current game has three of them "moving" for the past 15 minutes from the point they dismounted their half-tracks. The crew will fire carbines but the AT guns are a "no-show" both literally and tactically in this scenario ("Smoke 'em if You Got 'em").
  15. Please clarify what "skins" you want; uniforms, faces, and such. Check out CMODS III at http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/. When you look inside a mod, you can see the file names changed. Determine the CMFI equivalent file names of the CMBN file names you want to apply. Need to know the details.
  16. That's huge! Kudos on the breakthrough. Hopefully, any remaining issues remain trivial or cosmetic. Good luck to the team. Thanks for your efforts.
  17. I'm in a CMFI QB where my 37mm L/54 M3A1 towed anti-tank guns don't appear. I only know they're there because I see four (4) crewmen and get the AT Gun unit description when I click on them. I thought I recalled this as a known bug but my searches for it come up empty. I am using the Aris 37 57mm AT Guns mod but the problem occurs with and without mods. What can someone tell me about this? Is there a fix? Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
  18. The classic Battlefront approach; thoughtful and deliberate with a clear focus on quality, which is why these games excel! Kudos to the team. Please serve no wine before it's time but know that it will be truly relished when ready. I expect to pair this vintage with Mamertino, the wine of Julius Caesar . Truly looking forward to it. Good luck and Godspeed!
  19. And I miss @Mord. Any news on his doings or whereabouts?
  20. I concur. CMBN provides the most value for your dollars because it has considerably more community made add-on's, such as scenario's and mods, which stretch and elevate your game play experiences. CMRT is the definite preference for an Ostfront grog. I have a special fondness for CMFI but it is not available at the moment pending Battlefront's version 4.0 upgrade release for it. Combat Mission does provide an embarrassment of riches! You cannot chose wrong . . .
  21. @SeinfeldRules I am a big fan of your terrain mods. Thank you for posting them! Do you intend to upload to CMMODS III (http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/)?
  22. +1. Additional NATO forces like the Danes would make for great Battle Packs. As would the Finnish for CMRT WW2 Battle Packs too.
