  1. You start and run a screen capture software tool while playing the game. There are several free apps available. Many here use Fraps (http://www.fraps.com/download.php). I use Bandicam (https://www.bandicam.com/downloads/). There are still others preferred by some forum members. You will want to pick one and learn how to do this.
  2. Okay. M4 (105) Assault Gun? Should come with ten (10) 105mm smoke rounds. Can you post screen shots for LOS to that single target? One showing blue target line for HE/HEAT clear LOS and the other showing (or failing to show) grey target line LOS for smoke?
  3. Details please; on-map / off-map, direct / indirect, artillery type, ranges, etc.?
  4. I like this game. Here's my review. http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/game-review/review-desert-war-1940-1942-from-matrix-games/
  5. I concur! Great to see you back to doing these, @Bil Hardenberger!! Can't wait to see more of this. Thank you.
  6. A problem with realistic WW2 casting is that most of the private soldiers were very young men; 18-20 years old. Company grade NCO's and officers might run as old as 25 or so. Veteran actors are a decade older. War fighting is a younger man's venue. The Iraq War series "Generation Kill" captured that pretty well.
  7. Eh? "Target" already works that way for a deployed mortar section using direct fire LOS against a specific target or general area.
  8. No, not at all. Your plan just lacked . . . a sequel . . . (which I have kindly provided . . . ) Please proceed with introducing @Zugzwang919 to the joys of H2H play
  9. Then after completing your initial hazing ritual, err, kind introduction to H2H play, check out The Few Good Men for other opponents to play as well - http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/

  11. Right. If you start the game, you create file 001. It is a password only file. You send file 001 to your opponent and he creates file 002 which only creates a password protected file which your opponent sends back to you. Nothing will happen until you receive his file 002 back. Moving file 002 to Incoming Email and opening as a saved game will then require you to enter your valid password. This is the file you use for your actual set up and first game turn movement plotting. Click the Big Red Button to create file 003 which you send back to him. Rinse and repeat. Your create odd numbered sequential files that you send to him. He creates even numbered sequential turn files that he sends back to you. If the problem persists, try again without entering a password on your first turn. The game allows you to do so. If that works, then the original problem is truly "Incorrect" password on your part. Passwords are English keyboard upper/lower case sensitive alphabetic and number values.
  12. I completely agree that signs and wonders would be nice to see. I completely disagree that "no screenshots equals no progress". Given that Battlefront has a very small staff and must choose between developing the game or developing work in process marketing collateral, I prefer that they focus on developing the game first and then spend post development efforts to market the game when it is ready for sale. I don't mind that what I think doesn't matter though. Battlefront knows better than me what's best for it's business.
  13. That does not compute . . . We'll know it's done when we see it available for sale. I expect after Easter but before Memorial Day. It's not as if I don't have any other Combat Mission games to play while waiting . .
  14. I think the reviewers get it right; 55% negative / 45% positive. There are a host of anti-Sherman books and essays. In 1943 it was considered a superior vehicle. 1944-45 saw it's weapon and armor passed by. However, no one ever complained that it was unreliable mechanically. The research and development for producing a better tank just took longer than the war lasted. With regard to US Tank Destroyer doctrine, that too shares a host of detractors (myself included) but again, hindsight is 20/20. That doctrine was on its way out before the war ended as well.
  15. Don't you mean v3.12 (v3 up to last patches)?
  16. Sorry for your unhappy events. Hope things work out. Good luck and good gaming.
  17. As @Erwin states, others can address this better. My own experience is that these games will NOT play on any laptop (or PC) solely using Intel integrated graphics. You must have an Open GL graphics card to play them. If I recall correctly, @Bulletpoint had reason to check into this within the past year. These are great games. Good luck getting a PC to play them soon!
  18. Not old, just older . . . Discord is a proprietary freeware VoIP application designed for gaming communities. Discord runs on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux, and in a web browser. As of December 2017, there were about 87 million unique users of the software. https://discordapp.com/
  19. I concur, despite bocage! If "best" is defined as being the only one you could afford to buy, then CMBN offers the greatest content for dollars spent. Each game has a particular selling point. If that particular selling point is not decisive to you, then CMBN will keep you happily occupied for a good long time.
  20. Or . . . the one I'm playing at the moment
  21. The Few Good Men --> http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/ Check them out then decide if want to join for opponents to play.
