  1. If there is an exit zone for a side then any destroy unit objectives really become exit objectives and the opposition gets points if they do not exit. If there are no exit zones then the opposition really needs to take the unit out to score. That is my understanding anyway.
  2. That looks pretty nice. My guess is you are moding the German uniforms.
  3. And now a cliff hanger ending. You are getting the hang of this comic book stuff. Now we have to buy the next book...
  4. Well in this play through I am finding less of your guys hiding where they were last time... Overwatch teams have managed to spot a few of your AFVs and try to take them out but only one scout team actually ran into opposition this time. The other thrust is is still trying to find someone the chew up. Come out, come out where ever you are
  5. This was especially a treat because I had pretty much left that AT gun behind and was not thinking about it at all. I had a whole lot of infantry trying to find cover from those tanks and several tanks of my own trying to figure out a way to get an angle on those two but being very nervous about it. Then as I watched the turn the tanks started taking hits and it actually took me a while to figure out which of my units was actually hitting them. Then watching the crew work - I like doing that when I get the chance - I noticed the extra coolness of the moment. Yeah my opponent had at least four Shermans who just showed up as reinforcements. They were busy really missing up my final assault and frankly I was very concerned that I would totally stall out. The turn before I lost one of the three tanks facing off against these two. That AT gun totally saved my bacon on that side of the town. Two more more loose Sherman tanks is still a really big problem but much less than four of them. My opponent is damn good - he taught me nearly everything I know about how to play this game well so it is going to be a fun ending.
  6. The latest version of this tool seems to still work with CMBS: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5426/details I have done only cursory testing so there could be a hidden issue.
  7. Yep. I am playing a scenario now where my Grey Eagel spotted a Russian BMP and I switched it to attack mode and it could not complete the mission because the BMP was in the trees. Trees help. They are not a guarantee but they can help. Yes, see above That might help but which way would you pop smoke. You can be surprised by CAS missiles coming form all kinds of directions.
  8. I'll tell you what I would like to see in terms of mobile bridges is not that they be put into position during a CM scenario but that a scenario designer could have them in their tool box of bridges. Then you could create a scenario where the engineering teams have already placed the bridge.
  9. Yes, it will help. It is not a guarantee by any means but sometimes the helos will loose track of an AFV in the woods or a tree could block an incoming missile.
  10. Excellent - I have the first versions you made (pared down a bit to my taste) really nice collection. Well done. I'll pick up you final versions.
  11. Here is a short video from a PBEM I have on the go right now. One of my AT guns took out two Shermans in short order. But when I watched the turn I noticed that the crew were just shooting one of them. The second one drove between the gun and the target and ended up hit as well.
  12. Interesting article but ah um what are you trying to say here. The documents show that the CIA became aware of a group was planning to overthrow the Japanese government. Those plotters were lead by someone who had worked for them to spy on communists and the CIA only became aware of the plot after it was dropped and long after support for those guys had dried up. Headlines end up being misleading much of the time.
  13. No, no way. I don't want combat mission to be open source. But I would like some integration points (not on the inside of the engine) that community tools could make useful things with.
  14. I do not usually play any sound mods - the stock ones have always seemed fine to me but I decided to try this and I really like it. Excellent addition.
  15. LOL funny exchange. So @BTR I am playing with your Russian vehicles and the look really good. I am also playing wiht @Kieme's vehicles which look really good too. The Russian ones look a little too clean - perhaps your regulations require more frequent washing. Are you guys talking about throwing some mud on them? Either @BTR giving his blessing to @Kieme adding some dirt or @Kieme giving his blessing on sharing some dirt techniques? Just curious what we have next in store. A part from symbols from @BTR and more vehicles from @Kieme which is pretty clear...
  16. That is rather clever - nice. That would be nice - we can all hope...
  17. Actually I humbly thing that those two programs are a good reason for Steve to *not* roll those features into the product. GreenAsJade and I could make them work way better with a few additional features - even just command line options (see the link in my sig). I feel that there are enough passionate people here that could and would create additional worthwhile features around the core game and BFC would not have to do all the work. We do need them to do some to allow us to hook into the game. Imagine if you will BFC creates: command line options to start the game and load a saved game, start a new scenario, campaign or QB, and hook up via TCP/IP etc.a data file with the game AAR screen data (the points, the casualties, the combat victories etc.)a way to create a new scenario or QB from a unit input file (including reduced head counts on units)a way to save a map with the existing combat damage from the current state of the game. Then WTII and CMH could start the game you wanted right up, The CM results spreadsheet could be made to automatically update your play results, campaign designers could automate creating the CM games for their operational layers. And probably a ton of things that I have not even though about before. The point is the support work needed could be leveraged into additional value to players that would not cost BFC any more effort. Yes, the needed support would be a non trivial amount of work. I hope that Steve will decide to do one small part from time to time so that an ecosystem of supporting programs could be developed.
  18. Exactly that is the bug. Yes probably it is due to the different shapes etc.
  19. Some vehicles have what look like bricks on the outside - the Bradleys show it off very well but they are on various tanks too. If you move the camera through a model you can see the inside. If you do it just right you can actually see the armor underneath the ERA blocks. If you do that and find that there are hit decals on the armour under the blocks but the block is still there that is a bug. It is possible for the blocks to not trigger and have a hit decal of their own on them too. I think if you start posing screen shots and game saves here that would be a good start.
  20. There is definitely an issue with ERA blocks not having hit decal on them but the underlying armour does for some vehicles in some cases. In the case where you cannot find hit decals have a look under the ERA block. If they are there report it - please.
  21. Ah that makes sense. Neat I never noticed them before - now I'm going to be watching for them.
