  1. Always with the negative waves Sburke always with the negative waves. If oddball's speaker equipped Sherman could float it would be as Col Kilgore's attack Huey incarnate playin rise of the valkries. But that'll never happen as long as we have these negative waves.
  2. .....All that over what amounts to a halftrack that floats in the air?
  3. TOW Korea had helicopters as troop carriers. There was a lot of speculation how this would pan out for similar reasons. Used the same engine as TOW 2 which was WW2. They were implemented fine as far as their purpose goes. You loaded a squad, they hovered to nap of the earth, you flew them usually to a flank LZ, dropped off your squad. I don't recall but I think there were alternate elevations you could choose. Sure some were shot down. Helos not a big deal, but it would make sense to have them on larger maps.
  4. I went to Red lobster in Niagara Falls a couple weeks ago. After gorging myself I needed a walk and noticed an old cemetery next door to red lobster. So went for a walk and to my surprise it is THE Drummond hill cemetery. I snapped a picture of Laura Secord's grave, apparently the site of the famous battle, many soldiers from both sides are buried there as well. This cemetery is barely noticeable from the road and virtually unmarked.
  5. Its an amateur youtube review, but he does a good job, .... and he never drops the F-bomb
  6. Lundy's Lane! Lundy's Lane! I wonder if the flying saucer restaurant was there in 1812?
  7. Found the rock paper scissor here. It was pretty obvious but had to test it. Its range dependant. If you are knife fighting at 300m or less you want to be a Sherman. If you are engaging at 500m or more the Mk 4 cleans up with ease. Not scientific, didn't count shots etc. All Vets Leadership 0 repeat as necessary 300 meters: 2 Sherman II survive vs 4 Mk4 H early killed 500 meters: 4 Sherman II killed vs 4 Mk 4 H early survived I chose the basic Sherman II cause I was getting clobbered by these. If you are playing a scenario and have no choice but to close in on Sherman's with Mk4's, then apply a strategy with that in mind I suppose.
  8. :D I had a good laugh and at my expense, thanks .....OK alluded
  9. True, but there are many ways troops take a hit in morale already due to platoon cohesion, so an additional cause could pretty much cave them in unless by default they were made crack or elite, or as Womble eluded they get a berserker bonus for inflicting casualties. I have seen as it is now squads from the same platoon moving in opposite directions and one squad got annihilated. If the other squad is green they will freeze and become broken without even taking a casualty.
  10. Campaign core units do not gain experience, attributes, or promotions between battles. Spoiler Alert: . . . . . Although it is rumoured there is a +2 enchanted Panzerschrek hidden somewhere under Primosole bridge in the Fustian operation. . . .
  11. Yes feel free to do what you wish with those.
  12. This bunker was putting out a crazy high ROF of MG42. Couldn't figure out why until I took a peek inside and saw there were two MG's firing. I just never really noticed that sort of thing before.
  13. Nice! We all got our eyes on this one.
  14. Very good. The tribal colours and beards look like the pictures I've seen. Other modding additions could be bare sandal feet, I read about how sure footed they were in spite of their sandals. And some were in French WW1 helmets, but that would be beyond the file arrangements of this game. So dough boy helmets work as well.
  15. Yep...This can also be applied to campaigns as well, where not every linked map has to be a fresh one. Especially if its an attrition campaign where force preservation is the focus and not so much the terrain. Described in the OP would be a human player on the attack vs a static AI scenario, where the tac AI does most of the work. AI plans are not very hard either so eventually one could add some as they learn the process. Lastly, I suppose one could also take a quick battle map and change it around a bit in the editor as well. Add a building here a wall there etc. So lots of possibilities to convert quick battle maps into single player scenarios without getting tied down to finite detailing over time. Although I do a appreciate the wow factor from a severely intricate scenario as well.
  16. I wonder if it is the longer prep time for the satchel charge making it appear as though they are choosing grenades first.
  17. This is very good. A keeper for me.
  18. Move a second trench, or wire segment, next to the one you want to change direction. It will pivot towards, and connect to where you drop the second segment. try it. Its a bit of a knack but works. Connect more segments again to snake the shape.
  19. One of my favourite models in the game. The Sherman II, with its sleek rounded curves... before the flat plating was added in the later models
  20. Here's an interesting encounter with an FG 42. Thomas Dugelby, in his book Death from Above-The German FG42 Paratroop Rifle found an after-action report from a U.S. Airborne Sergeant written during the assault over the Rhine. “The Sergeant, whose name was classified on the report, stated: ‘we waded off the river bank and made our way slowly to a copse of trees abutting the bank, when suddenly, a (what we thought) MG34 began to pepper our positions. I told the men to take cover, while we tried to pinpoint the position of the gun, but by then had lost three men to the fire. Another string of bullets rattled off from a different position, hitting Lieutenant _______ five or six times, killing him instantly. It was then that I saw the first German raise up and reposition himself, some two hundred yards over the bank. He was not, in fact, manning a MG34, but indeed had one of the dreaded FG42’s in his possession. I made to gather my men to find cover, now knowing what we were up against, when a third FG42 opened up from a wooded area some two hundred and fifty yards south of our position, hitting five men in the process. Before we could reposition, maneuver, and counter-attack, the Germans had successfully retreated, not being held up by the weight of a larger machine gun. Our squad took eight causalities while only seeing one German’.”
