mjkerner got a reaction from BletchleyGeek in Recommendations for historical fiction - US 1750 to 1775?
Drums Along the Mohawk by Walter Edmonds is a must-read. Extremely well researched and authentic. Same with Kenneth Robert’s Northwest Passage and Arundel. Edmonds also has a number of short stories of the period in a volume titled In the Hands of the Senecas that are great as well. Also, Alan Eckert’s 6 volume series The winning of America is good. He calls it a Historical Narrative...there are no fictional characters in them, but he writes them like novels and they are a fun read. His history is a bit lacking, which he admits in later years, but in my early 20’s in the early 1970’s, they tripped my trigger and launched my 30 year obsession with studying/gaming the US Eastern woodland Indian Wars 1675–1832 to the exclusion of almost all other periods. So I have a soft spot for him, lol.

Okay, I think I already have Kieme’s from CMSF1, I’ll check. The sewage one looks cool. Thanks for checking. I think with this title I might try modding again as well. Thanks!

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not.
If it isn't then no worries.
If it is sarcasm then, my three tours of Afghanistan and a female comrade KIA suggests you should pull your head in.

Glad to hear this, George! I’ve been toying with playing this like home wrecker, but I’ll wait for the updated one.

mjkerner got a reaction from Sgt.Squarehead in How I view most scenarios and the designers...
I’m with the Sarge on this. Not much point to this thread until those that don’t make scenarios, and yet feel privileged to complain about them, make their own, better, ones. Or at least contribute by testing them for the scenario makers. (Added the last sentence because Erwin does a lot of testing for scenario makers.)

Amen to that.....Twenty plus hours in the editor/testing, trying to get one part of one AI group to do what you want, does little for your patience with BS threads like this.

The Sgt mostly works in CMSF so you may not be familiar with his work, but he has done some really creative fun stuff that has imho pushed design for that title up a notch. He is a very good example of someone who has decided what he’d like to see and then applied it. Now keep in mind his work just like anyone else’s may not appeal to everyone. However it is damn good work. As to being a customer, well that only applies if you paid for it. That is true for one that comes with the game, but not for user created stuff which will be the vast majority of content over time. For those in effect you are getting something for free and then complaining about it as if you have some customer rights. You don’t. You can only 1decide even at free it isn’t worth it to you or 2 provide specific feedback/suggestions to the designer in a manner that is productive and collaborative. #change your tone. 😁

mjkerner got a reaction from slysniper in Shock Force 2 Beta Showcase Video
I can never understand how so many otherwise intelligent people on these boards can't seem to understand and accept in regard the BFC business model. And, while I'm at it, how so many insist on beating a dead horse over and over when BFC/Steve consistently tell them not to expect release dates, dev logs, etc., etc.
Yes, I'm a fanboi, but not because of the above posting, which is simply pointing out my wonderment at people ignoring the facts, repeated and consistent facts.
I'm a fanboi because, in spite of flaws, bugs, long silences and the like, I love the game and have the utmost confidence in BFC based on a superlative track record of consistently putting out a superior product, continuously fixing bugs for free, upgrading constantly, back-upgrading older products, etc., years.
YMMV.

I’m cheating and giving this another +1, just because seeing how sweet CMSF2 looks from the demo (I knew it was going to be good!), you know a rework of CM:A would be Da Bomb!
