I already gave you an explanation.
Same here, upgrading to a sophisticated gaming rig didn´t give me that much benefit for CM which already was running fine on my low end systems. Same applies for dozen guys here running CM2 without a problem on mainly notebooks considered "crappy" by modern gaming standards.
Same goes for dozen other games out there. Graviteam Tactics (which surprise surprise runs on modern directx iteration without mac support) also won´t run that much better on a new high end beast and also goes crap when maxed out even on NORAD hardware without looking that much better. So no it isn´t a Combat Mission, OpenGL or whatever exclusive problem or issue and I again call this disputed claim happily B S.
Sure CM2´s engine is far from perfect . However I´ve seen no big performance issues observing it on countless (crappy) systems but people come here and leave melodramatic posts about how cursed the performance allegedly is. Sure there are people with real issues and there is a lot of room for improvement but I am pretty sure many here exaggerate. What I´ve definitely observed are plenty of guys trying to cruise on completely messed CM or system settings in CM2 who then love pointing fingers.
Stating the following won´t earn me Burke´s diplomacy award but in 8/10 cases the main problem is not in the CM2 engine but exists between chair and keyboard.

Well then you read the wrong stuff it seems.
OpenGL was naturally the first choice as it provides the only true multi-plattform backbone running on PC and MAC without making complicate ports a neccessity and allowing Mac users to enjoy CM. Just because Apple tries now to force their own engine doesn´t mean OpenGL is from the days of the dinosaurs, what a bs, get a clue.
Also wonders me that a guy with 3k posts still has troubles like this. I spent years playing completely modded CM2 games with additional Reshade on low budget mediocre 7/840m notebooks without any performance issue. Every wise man here knows not to set the two detail settings to high as they will cause bad performance on all PCs, no matter what NASA stuff you got in. When you keep them on "balanced" (and also test the HPP setting) you can pretty much enjoy most scenarios with great fps even on low-end systems without loss in visual fidelity except the unimportant vegetation drawing distance perhaps (which however kills fps).
Battlefront really should modify or even remove some of these graphic detail settings as it is issue no. one when people report bad performance because everyone usually goes for the max out. Would probably lower post count on performance issues on this forum by 70-80%.

Turkey crossing the Syrian border last January brought Leopard 2A4 onto the front page. I'm quickly whipping up a Turkish mod for the German vehicle for CMSF2.
I haven't uploaded a mod since before Repository went away. I'll have to pick a spot to upload to after CMSF2 comes out. It might possibly fit the CMSF1 model too, though I haven't tried.

As much as I do understand your point of view, I would appreciate to have some information at some point.
I work in IT and I know how hard it is to keep deadlines. I don't mind waiting. But IMHO it wouldn't hurt to drop some info in advance like "Sorry due to 'reasons' the release must be pushed back or so.
In my experience most people have understanding for that but are angry if the are left blank.

I'm unsure if I'm allowed to post things like this, and I will remove it if it's an issue. This game looks really cool. It's based on the FULDA GAP!!! And three other less important regions. All 61x61 kmish.  It's based on the years 1965-1991. I hope this turns out to be an improved SPMBT kind of game but much better. And I don't doubt it'll be far off.
I'd like to add I've been a fan of Steel Panthers World at War and SPMBT for around a decade now. I'd play them when I had the shoddiest internet connection and they're super light on your pc. My Pentium 4 worked like a charm.

I am relaxed, don´t be such a sensitive snowflake. I am pretty sure Bulletpoint didn´t get seriously hurt in the process of reading my post and this has nothing to do with agressiveness, agreeing, or disagreeing but with simply pointing out untrue facts. His posts suggest that Combat Mission runs like garbage on every computer and then proceeds with false explanations about engine technicalities which I then happily call bs, simple as that.

Yes you can, but the status of your or the enemies' core units will not be persistent with your savegames. In other words, all core units will be at full strength.

I assume so.  I haven't seen what the final process will be on the whole upgrade/new title but the only thing the license will drive is your price/discount for CMSF2.

I can only share my own observations drawn from my own (admittedly aging) system.
First, toggling shadows off will almost always save you at least 3-5 FPS.
Second, reducing the focal length of the camera by zooming in slightly will save you something like 5-10% of your total FPS.
Finally, trying to pan the camera around the map edges while looking straight over the center of the map will kill your FPS every time. Best to place the camera base in the center of the map, and look outwards towards the edges.
The way Combat Mission runs, even if you don't physically "see" all the forces on a map, they are all still being simulated by the game engine at all times, thus trying to adopt a camera position that would result in the vast majority of forces on the map, (either visible or invisible) to be present in front of the camera is where you get your biggest hit to your FPS.
It's best to limit your view, by either keeping the camera pointed towards the map edge, limiting the field of view of the camera by using the zoom feature, or panning the camera downwards and adopting a 'top down' or 'isometric' viewpoint.
My observations are based on an AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHZ quad core (4 physical 8 logical) processor, 16 GB of RAM, with Nvidia GTX 750.

With the new site finally up we must take a minute to remember our old friend, the Repository, now relegated to the cold dark vacuum of cyberspace. Maybe not the prettiest of spots on the internet, that old ugly wench did her job in earnest, hosting some of the first and oldest of the new engine mods, maps and scenarios. She was the home to my first real endeavors into the modding arena (as ugly as some of them were) and she was the go-to spot before there was a go-to spot. Even though she was cast aside many a year ago for a prettier, younger Mistress, it was nice knowing she was still around if we needed her. And even though she was old, haggard, and hard to handle, she was there with her many forgotten (un-ported) treasures buried in a confusion of broken links and cyber-subterfuge waiting for a visit and a chat. Alas, she has finally and truly given up her ghost, along with many a mod (and perhaps) scenario that never made it to a shinier shore. So, as a new door opens, an old one closes and I say, fare thee well, sweet, ugly, PIA-to-navigate Repository, I salute thee for a job well done! You are gone but not forgotten...well, maybe a little.
And now a blatant and exploitative manipulation of your emotions...bow your heads and shut your mouths (especially you, Emrys, your Flea Deity commands it!)

I´ve spent already about two hours with this scenario and can safely say that this is one of the most advanced Combat Mission scenarios I´ve played in over 10 years when not the most advanced.
The amount of detail put into this project and the briefings is superb. So is the "under the hood" technical stuff that runs this campaign. Unbelieveable that you figured that stuff out.
This is not an usual scenario but indeed a sandbox campaign built into a CM scenario worth dozen hours of playtime.
Issue wise not much to say atm:
1)when I try to incorporate the pinned UKR forces into the relief engagement, they´re triggered by 4.0´s retreat mechanic and consantly need to be stopped from running towards the enemy and suiciding (probably because the wall around the building),
    2) due to the map size and mobility required, babysitting the extensive convoy operations takes a lot of energy and nerves but this is basically a fault of the game itself and not of your scenario.
    thats it.
The intel reports fron the intelligence branches and detainees, are they randomized/influenced by your actions? Are there any tips on how to get a bit better FPS performance out of it?
Even with everyone being somewhat focused on SF2 you should definitely put this piece of Combat Mission art on your list.
Personal recommendation: Listen to the Zero Dark Thirty Soundtrack when you hunt for "the Butcher".

Gentlemen first of all I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting and remembering me. I'm not gone, I was on a break because life is busy. I will be around here, I will not stop producing content and I will always be greatful that this forum gave me this unique opportunity to meet people like you. Thank you for your support. I will be posting news about my mods everytime I got a decent amount of them done.  I will also work on updates. CMBS will be moded by me constantly. It is my favorite game in series and I will never let it go. Pherhaps at some point my time will be so limited that I will not be able to post a lot but I will always do something.
Moreover, I've just created a new topic - Oleksandr's Modding Space for CMSF2 - so I will mod that game when it will came out.
Last but not least, I was amazed that people remember me. Thank you gentlemen you can always count on my support. I will not forget your nice words (and I mean it I will not forget it) and I will try to do my best to bring what I can to our community. Thank you for sharing and supporting my vision. It is an honor for me.
P.S. Arguments will always be there, some people like me some people don't. But I can tell you one thing for sure - I'm not planing to get involved into any types of conflicts with anyone. Life is too short for that. Thank you once again. I consider all of you gentlemen as my friends because you supported me when I was away. Those things mean a lot to me. I want you to know that you can contact me via msg any time and you always will be welcome. Thank you for your attention and for your nice words once again. God Bless you, your families, and things you do in life.

Tactical Operations Center has been posted at The Scenario Depot III.  The link is below.  Thank you to all the Beta testers, @Sgt.Squarehead, @Erwin, @rocketman, @sburke, @General Jack Ripper and @Combatintman.   Thanks to everyone else for patiently waiting.

I had some computer problems so in the end mod tags were not used.  However links to the mods are listed with the scenario.  Instead of a PDF document two Word documents are included with the scenario.  The Word documents help explain the intelligence code and the map grid lines.  They are not needed to play the scenario since the same information is in the briefing.  However the Word documents may be downloaded and printed out for players who wish to do so.  Some of the beta testers thought it was helpful having a printed intel. code on hand while playing.
If you have questions ask here or send me a PM.  Hope you enjoy it.  Post cool screenshots!

Yes, unless you have an eidetic memory, it is almost essential to write down all intel gathered by Defectors because when the Defectors are evacuated the player will have to remember what intel the Defectors provided so as to determine future COA's (Courses of Action).
For players who have been hankering for a large, operational-level feel, low-intensity/COIN scenario in which the player has to analyze and prioritize the importance of various actionable intelligence items that are provided during the game, and which may change the game depending on how the player responds, this is a uniquely brilliant effort by MOS.
Hope that TOC will inspire similar efforts when CMSF2 is released as CMSF2 may be even more suitable for this sort of COIN scenario or campaign.

Direct answer: no OIF campaigns exist.
    1. I did 2 historical OIF-2 Marines vs uncon ambush-and-relieve scenarios set in central Ramadi in 2003.
    2. @Combatintman did a number of OP TELIC British scenarios set 2003-2004, plus others set in A-stan.
     3. @Sgt.Squarehead did 2 bloodbaths set in the Mosul siege 2016.
Apologies to anyone else I left out here. I faintly recall someone once trying 73 EASTING but hazy on details.

Yes you guys are right, wrong choice of words here. My apologies to Vergeltungswaffe and to you mjkerner.
Look what I mean mjkerner when you give group movement orders you pretty sure noticed that you get waypoints that are in relation to each other like the units are, which is a wonderful function. However sometimes when setting waypoints trough corridors or you want several vehicles follow the road the classic RTS "all waypoints go to one place, to a single tile" function would come in handy especially for curvy roads. Could be toggled with Shift like the Target Arc command.
