Jesus Christ...don't bring that sh*t here. There's twitter and tumblr and facebook and a thousand other places for the oppression olympics.
As for the question...THERE'S HUGE diversity, unless of course you think all "white" people are the same. We have Americans, Canadians, British, Germans, Russians, Ukranian, New Zealanders, South Africans,  French, Poles, Dutch, Italians, (along with skins for black and brown citizens of those nations where viable) as well as Brazilian, Syrians, Indians, Sikhs, and plenty of portraits for Maori, Gurkha, Goumiers, Algerians, Japanese Americans, Druze, Assyrian, Palestinian, and Shi'ite. Hope that's enough "diversity" for you.
EDITED: CMBB and CMAK also had Finnish, Romanians, Hungarians, and Australians.
Burn it before it lays eggs...

I think i saw dark skinned men in CMCW actually.  'course, WW2 US was totally segregated so wouldn't see that there.

This an updated polished set from the original set I made years ago. Improvements include diamond shape now for armor, and available nation HQ icons. If you are familiar with my other sets it uses distinctive geometric shapes for different units same as the others.
The set includes choice for spotted icons for Soviet;  blue or green(default).
    Germany is red spotted icons
The FOW icons are grey(German), and olive(Soviet)
The HQ Icons default are a red star on green(soviet), and German cross on red (Germany). There is other HQ variants for Soviet to choose from like red star on blue for the blue set. To change to the blue set go into the HQ, and spotted folders and cut the "z" at the front of one folders name and paste in front of the name of the one you want to use. See how I have green selected soviet and the German HQ in the pic. You can also use the vanilla black HQ flag too.
BONUS! Comes with my arrow base mod, and easy vis command buttons that highlight the order color when hovered over. Two choices full color or just color outline. Again take the "z" in name from one and paste into name of folder you want to use to change.
You can use what you want. All set up to cherry pick, but think you will like defaults I have set.
    Enjoy,
    Vin
(Sorry, just noticed I posted this in the general CMRT forum instead of mods where this should have been. If BF can move this to the mod sub forum I'd appreciate. Thanks)

    Allies are blue

The FOW icons are grey(axis), and olive(allied)
The HQ Icons default are a white star on blue(allies), and German cross on red (axis). There are other HQ variants for allies and axis to choose from if you look at pic. To change HQ icons for different nations you may be playing you have to do it manually. Go into the HQ's folders and cut the "z" at the front of one folders name and paste in front of the name of the one you want to use. Adding a "z" to beginning of a folder name tells the game which folder to use. You can also use the vanilla black HQ flag too.

One thing also important to remember in reference to Ian's excellent advice for using engineers to blow gaps for vehicles - Give the blast order as a parallel line on the side of the wall your on that you want to breech for example  instead of through it putting waypoint on other side. Doing it this way assures a gap blown wide enough to get a vehicle through, and also prevents your engineers from running through the gap to the other side potentially into a kill zone.

You have some good answers. Well not good but truthful. You get better at figuring out what is going to cause trouble and what is not as you play. But at a cost of some moments like what you have just experienced.
The solution we really need is one of more of 1) show a no move cursor as you hover over gaps so you know and 2) have a better WISIWIG for gaps.
The stated request for a path preview is not likely easy (it requires full calculation of movement) and can turn out to be wrong too. Here is what I mean by it can be "wrong": movement in the game works by having a unit calculate the path to the next way point when it gets to the end of its current move order. This is important because units calculate their next movement path based on the reality at that moment not the reality at the beginning of the turn.
Let's take your situation as an example. Had you known the gap was not wide enough or there was no gap at all but you had engineers or a tank who could breach or destroy the wall you can accomplish what you want in one turn and not two. You order the engineers up to the wall and give them a blast command through it. You also order your jeep towing the AT gun to dive towards the wall making sure to have a way point on its side of the wall and one on the other right where the gap is going to be, then into position behind the house. Issue a pause command for the jeep so it only reaches the wall after the engineers are done blasting. Engineers usually take 15s to breach a wall like this if no one is shooting at them. Give your jeep more time than that.  When the minute starts the jeep will be waiting and the engineers will be busy hiding (yeah they aren't hiding they are setting the charge but for some reason the game lists them as hiding while they do that) next the blast will go off and the wall will be breached. Then the jeep will start driving toward the wall. Because the path to the next way point on the other side of the wall will be calculated when the jeep gets to the way point on this side of the wall the calculated path will be through the breach. Result AT gun in the backyard nice and safe.
You can use this for dynamic entry to buildings or assaulting walled courtyards getting through bocage and other obstacles such as wire.

Vinnart got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in I don't like any of the camera options
Navigating the game is very easy, but I suggest using a mouse with as many programmable buttons as possible. Assign camera movements to it. I also -use an old Nostromo speedpad controlling the entire game effortlessly and quickly. Faster than any other RTS I've played.
I use default camera set up, and the tab button (lock camera) most of the time via middle mouse button. Camera instantly flies to and locks. Then use mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
I have camera views 1 - 6 too for quick jumps tied to buttons.
The front and back mouse buttons I have as =, - to cycle through units forward and back.
Wide and zoom tied to mouse wheel on Nostromo.
Another one that is very handy is F12, select last unit. Re-selects if you accidentally de-select a unit, and also allows jumping back and forth between two units not in =. - order.
The thing about CM is the camera is different in that ii uses the right mouse button for slow panning. I think the camera in CM is the BEST of any game with it's tremendous range and angles available. Controlling it too is awesome once you get organized and get the hang of it. Camera usually makes or breaks games for me often too lose and limited.

I've been using XO's in this way for a long time as part of the spear front recon as they spot well, and are more expendable than Plt Ldr IMO. They also, serve as good front line medics.

Vinnart got a reaction from Bulletpoint in Best Battlefront Game for Smaller, focused battles...
Here is a concept I put together a long time ago for ideas of how such a game might be. If this were implemented I believe the Real Time player community would grow exponentially. Basically each player controls a platoon, and sees only what his units see so it is how Iron mode would shine. The commander role player/players would control those smaller units, but would see more, and so would be coordinating the effort of the players controlling the main combat units. Also, the game would have observer slots for each side for just watching, or training for new team players. Teams (clans) would emerge for Real Time play, and would bring entire new aspect to the game.

Agreed. This game's biggest downfall is the lack of a decent MP system. I stopped playing single player games a while back

Hah! I think its funny that everyone has a different answer. I was going to suggest CM:Fortress Italy because the level of lethality is dialed down to 1943 levels.
If you're asking which title ships with the most 'small' scenarios, that's a tough one. I don't think anyone done a survey on that.

Just checked out the twich video. Nice presentation Steve and Chris. Would have liked to hear some show off of the games sounds with arty in the beginning though to give a taste of that immersive quality of the game for new players. I predict SO many new players finding the game for the first time on Steam! I hope the demos will be available there too. If a person can get a taste without having to commit I think it will grab even more people like it did me 20yrs ago.  The game has been around for over 20 yrs, and it's amazing CM is just scraping the surface to it's most realized potential. So excited for Battlefront with these latest developments!
