It does look like this attack was rather more of a weapon than an extortion attempt and the Ukraine does seem to have got the worst of it.....However we should probably take this into considerstion: http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-notpetya-cyber-attack-was-likely-very-cheap-to-depl-1796496099 Interesting times.

Nice car-parks!

It appears there is a very real WMD threat in Mosul: https://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/article165906278/The-Islamic-State-s-Horror-Arsenal.html I don't know how many X-Ray machines there were in the city prior to the ISIS takeover, but it's a very worrying proposition.....Let's hope CTS and their comrades can throw a truly inescapable net around the city and finish them off before anything catastrophic can happen.

I have a feeling we can all guess how this one will play out in the media: As the Beeb are broadly hinting already: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-40428967

I don't really know what to say about this one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-40421811 "Aaaaarrrrggghh!" maybe? -
It's Judgement Day! Actually, looking at the picture carefully, that is a rather odd Terminator.....It appears to have a T2 turret on a T1 hull.

Better when it's done for fun (& the odd magazine article).....Welcome to the wonderful work of Andy Moore: I'd kill for one tenth of this guy's talent: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235014077-andys-2016/ http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234994192-andys-eclectic-2015/ -
Lend-Lease stuff coming soon?
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Apocal's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
I knew the earlier 2pdr armed variants were fairly common in the Soviet Union, but I hadn't realised later Valentines were so widespread (and I consider myself as a 'Trackhead'). -

They're banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs Act.....A typically idiotic piece of legislation that misses the point entirely. -
Command Friction 2.0

I've been watching with great interest, I just don't feel I can offer any particularly useful input.....This thread has already affected the way I play CM (switched to Iron, paying much more attention to C2), but I don't think I'm up to the 'book-keeping' of the full system yet. -
Ten minutes left to go on my latest test.....Three fairly trivial map issues discovered and fixed (urban maps are hellish for this), still no results on 'Civilian Casualties', which is pretty disappointing. So with my test completed I've gone & made a whole load more work for myself.....But the end result will be better for it (many thanks to Combatintman for finding the missing link).

It's not just the vehicles though is it, it's how those vehicles fit into the Soviet TOE.....Looking forward to having them though. -

I wish.....TBH I think I've seen the image before, posted by a friend from the modelling world, who lives in Cannes. -

Don't forget the T-55s (the Iraqi Enigma would be cool) and even some (running as opposed to static) T-54s please! -
Yeah, I'm playing Shogun 2 for similar reasons. I feel that I have to test Ashsh al-Dababir again myself now (I've just set-up), but it's very artificial as I already know where all the IEDs/Snipers etc. etc. are. I already know the outcome should be OK, but I feel I must check it anyway, just to be thorough. I really want to get this one out there, everything is done now, even the Tactical Map (barring any graphics Combartintman is so kind as to make for me)! PS - I feel I should add that none of this would be an issue if Red could score VPs for an Occupy Objective in CM:SF.

Sorry I forgot to add the link in that post, the image is taken from a re-enactors site (which I now can't find again) and posted for comparison. I still haven't tracked down the original image yet, but I'm very confident that it's modern.....Mostly because on the few occasions the Polish Cavalry did attack the Germans, the last thing they would have had time to do is take pictures, focussing and framing them perfectly while they're at it!
