That's really very cool.....Presumably those would be genuine samples of the three German camo colours seen across the board on AFVs etc. I'd love to see them against a plain white background.

What I'd like to see in CM3...
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Wodin's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
That's a very interesting idea, I've really got into co-op mode in FPS games, especially once you assemble a small team of 'specialists'.....I'd be fascinated to see how this game mode would work out in CM. -
About 100% based on my experiences with patching up my old machine prior to buying the new one (swapping out the GPU triggered it accross the board).....However I suspect that experiences will vary once again. PS - I would say that CM:A seems to be more prone to 'Out of Memory' errors than it was under Win7, but that could be down to what I've been running, rather than an innate issue with the game.....However @IanL has recently confirmed that the game is not LAA so can access only 2gb of RAM. I'm wondering about CM:SF1 now?

Motorcycles?????
Sgt.Squarehead replied to WhiteWolf65's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Horses are available in several CM games. PS - My grandfather's recollection of Normandy was, "Traffic jams & dead horses". -

Convert map CMFB to CMRT?
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Aragorn2002's topic in CM Red Thunder Maps and Mods
I'm absolutely sure it can be done, I'm using CM:FB maps in CM:BS for my 'Balkanistan' (formerly 'Fragmentistan') experiments: However you may need to pick out a few flavour objects and modify quite a few buildings to restore the map to full functionality. -
Custom 3D Models and Mods Compilation
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Aquila-SmartWargames's topic in CM2 Scenario and Mod Tips
That's an intriguing idea.....Not sure quite what I would do with it, but it's definitely food for thought. -
CM WWII: Are tanks "overpowered"?
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Kaunitz's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
That's ludicrous IMHO.....Kind of amazed it would even be a possibility in CM. -
Scenario: Halt For Repairs

Looks an interesting scenario.....Testing the 37mm Gun vs. Kingtiger concept, the hard way? -

The Year Ahead Bone Post
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
That's very cool.....Kind of looks like a StuGmorser, but cool nevertheless. The creativity of the followers of these games never fails to impress me. Run out of likes, owe you one. -
Best scenarios of the WWII CM2's

PM inbound, I just happen to have DB open as I type. -
Received & replied, many thanks, as ever.

@IanL Do you know (or can you find out) if CM:A is LAA please? I'm having terrible issues with 'Out of Memory' errors while testing the stuff I've been working on recently.....I passed one over to @MOS:96B2P to try and he ran into the same issue almost immeiately (within fifteen turns). I've put a hell of a lot of time into these CM:A projects and to find that they won't run reliably on my current Win10 rig (the specs of which could reasonably be described as 'ridiculous overkill' for any CM game) is a bit disappointing. This was a problem on my Win7 machine too, but it seems to be much more frequent on the new one, which is significantly more powerful. Not a problem with any of the other titles, just CM:A.....CM:SF1 might do it too (it did in Win7), but TBH I've not run anything from that title on this machine yet.

Is there a Mod site somewhere?
Sgt.Squarehead replied to BluecherForward's topic in CM2 Scenario and Mod Tips
What you put in, you can take back out.....So long as you don't drop a metric s**t-ton of mods into your folder all at once, it's easy enough to keep track of what works and what doesn't. I suppose this is the real reason for removing your mods prior to patching.....So that you can reintroduce them systematically and if there's a problem, you'll know where it arose immediately. -
WIP: British Army Uniforms, Helmets, and Gear
Sgt.Squarehead replied to mjkerner's topic in CM Shock Force 2 Maps and Mods
I know we do currently have some (post beta.0.95).....Very fetching they look combined with the red berets too. -

There are StuGs and then there are StuGs: All manner of things might be possible in the frantic defence of the fatherland.....But TBH, I wouldn't count on it! Maybe a CM:RT Vehicle Pack? I'd certainly pay for that, especially if it had mine-roller tanks. -

I'll let @37mm know we have your blessing (proper credit will be given to all contributors (direct & indirect) in the 'Heaven & Earth' manual & elsewhere). -
CM:BN Screenshot Thread #2
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I used to love doing that to Italians with Matildas, or even better, doing it to ze Germans with KVs.....No need to supress 'em, just crush them under your tracks! -
The assault mouvement works with Italians.
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Falaise's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Yes it does.....Sometimes they even survive! -
CM WWII: Are tanks "overpowered"?
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Kaunitz's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Me too.....Remnant of a Soviet infantry unit that I believe was hiding in a somewhat isolated building, threw a grenade of some type at a Pz.IV. that got too close (staggered anyone was still alive in there after the pounding I gave it, one of the walls was out). I don't recall if the panzer was unbuttoned, but I suspect that it was, as that's my default position unless in close combat.
