    You have to open the map in a hex editor and change what game the map is associated with.
     
    I haven't tried it, but I suspect you could pull CM:SF maps. Although they would probably just be topographic maps since there are so few shared elements.
     
     
    For a while now I figured there was some sort of internal BFC method of porting maps since many of the QB maps and a few of the CM:RT and CM:BS maps are shared between games.
     
    Scipio is the one who did the orignal legwork of figuring out how exactly it was done and Rokko brought it to my attention/ made a nice post detailing how to do it.
     
     
    I'll continue working on getting map porting to be more reliable and maybe setup a sort of port rulebook once I figure out what causes issues and if there is enough interest. Right now I do know that the game will crash if you try to port a map with a non-modular building that the current game doesn't have an association for.

    Right now the process is just a lot of manual work, but is relatively easily done once you know what you are doing. The larger issue is knowing what the game can/cannot handle. I suspect this is why BFC hasn't released any sort of tool to do this. As it would require a certain amount of parsing of each terrain tile and then converting it into something else. not impossible by any means, but I suspect more work than it would be worth as it would be a programmer heavy job. So it becomes a map translator or airbursting munitions sorta problem.
     
    I also want to mention that if anyone is interested in porting one of their older maps let me know and I can work on it. Right now I'm just trying different maps for no other reason than to see what works/doesn't so I can put that time into someone's map if they are interested.

    Seeing 37mm's picture reminds me that there are a lot of now-redundant CMRT snowy terrain mods floating around that can  be repurposed for Cold War. You've got a little winter in the game to play with - March and December

    Hello all, I'm working with Lethaface on a new campaign, RED vs BLEU. 
     
    The background : 
    A COUP led to a power vacuum situation with various parties fighting for control of Syria. With help of Russian elements and emergency hardware (T-90AM, BMP-3, etc), Syrian forces have regained control of most of the territory of Syria; however there is still a lot of places with rebel presence. Some of those extremists, but war has blurred the lines between groups.
    After Russian intervention on Regime side, the US send in the marines (officially at the request of some local  groups label as "democratic") stepped in from bordering Iraq and together with local militia forces cleared some area's from 'terrorists'. Coincidentally these area's hold a large part of the oil rich territories of Syria.
    The Syrian Regime formally filed a complain at the UN, but strategically it was in their short term interest to deny rebel forces the income from Oil.
    However now that Syrian forces have pushed back most rebel groups, time has come to negotiate the reunification of all Syrian lands. Also, the war has been exhaustive and the oil income would be very helpful rebuilding. Until now USA has always confirmed the USMC forces would be only temporary 'inside' Syria, while adding that US has no interests in permanently occupying any territory in Syria. However, no formal negotiation has been started.
    Recently US clandestine operators have been spotted around several rebel area's. Various activity has been observed around oil installations, further fueling speculations that the USA is supporting rebel groups setting up their oil industry.
    But most alarmingly is the information local informants who have infiltrated the lower cadre of various rebel groups, provide to the government. Several of the rebel groups seem to have decided to combine into a larger 'front', including the militia supported by USA. Rumors are they want to declare an independent state inside Syria, backed by USA.
    Time is limited because we know inside a few weeks USA can deploy heavy forces to the area. So, it's an 'all-in' operation from the Syrian government for which best troops and equipment are allocated. The goals are to be reached 'at any cost'. 
     
    You will be in command of an Airborne battalion, mount on BMP-3, and support elements. You will face Marines and Syrian opposition fighter.  
     
    Scenarii : Number unknow 
    As for now the progress are the following :
    Scenario 1 : Will be redone 
    Scenario 2 : Test phase
    Scenario 3 : IA plans and troops deployment 
    Scenario 4 : Only a vague idea of the map 
    Scenario 5 : Will see
    Etc etc..
     
    As for now i'm looking for players to play test one or two scenario(2 and/or 3 mainly)

    Screen for mission 3, i'm really happy with the map and the idea but it may be "too much" in term of scale, but need to be tested first before descale it. 
     
    I will try to put more pics in the few coming day as the campaign progress. With Cold War out it the progression may be slow for a couple of weeks

    You are a German infantry commander, caught in the ever tightening noose that encircles Aachen. Your Volksgrenadier Regiment is responsible for the eastern portion of the defense, and has been slowly pushed back towards the edge of the city. American gains are steady, but we counterattack wherever we can to give the defenders of the city more time to prepare. Just this afternoon, American infantry and artillery pounded our battalion's position, pushing out our sister company from their foxholes and taking the ground for themselves. Your company, the regimental reserve, was quickly assembled and sent towards the position, in an effort to throw the Americans out before they can consolidate the ground and dig in.

    Unless @37mm totally changed things since I contributed a bit to the mod, the US Army does not have a 60s version.
    It wasn't realistic to port the US Army back to the 60s, when they still would have all their NVGs, GPS, etc. Hence, only the ARVN equivalent is available (as modded Syrians).

    Hi everyone, I have a mission that needs to be tested. This is the first map/scenario I ever created. It's gone through some revisions between then and now and hopefully I've come up with something decent. Allies vs Axis only. You have 2 platoons of infantry with attachments and need to find and destroy Axis units on a 320x320 map. Requires GL. Have run through it a couple times but need some fresh looks to let me know how it plays. Please let me know what you think!

    Hi everyone, have a new scenario that needs testing. German grenadiers take out an OP in a interlock tower. Platoon(+) sized, 560x480, 30 minutes, Axis vs AI only. Play tested it a couple times, hopefully it's not too hard or too easy. Please let me know how it is or if there are any improvement you might have!

    Hello all,
     
    Here is my much requested mod for CMBN's terrain. Again, almost all tiles are either from CMBN or CMFI, but I processed each to give a more even color scheme and retain color vibrancy while avoiding the fluorescent look of the original game.

    I have done my very best to ensure that no work from other content creators has sneaked into my mod, but as this mod is really years old, I can not be 100% sure. If you find your work in this mod, please let me know and I'll either give you credit for your work or remove it from my mod entirely. This mod is also not nearly as comprehensive as my other mods, and a lot of original tiles remain untouched. I focused on the main tiles - grasses, dirts, forest tiles - as they make up the majority of maps and have the greatest effect on the overall look.

    Hello everyone. Here is a new terrain mod you can all try out for CMBS. It is essentially the same terrain mod I made for CMRT, with some minor differences in doodads and without some older terrain tiles not suitable for the modern time period. I recommend Kieme's foliage mod to be used along with this mod. If you tried out my CMRT mod, then you know what you are getting.     Hello All,
    I have created a new terrain mod for CMFB, similar to my previous terrain mods for CM games. I've taken the various tiles provided by Battlefront and recolored them to provide a more unified color scheme, focusing on a realistic look with subtle variations between the various tiles. One of the biggest changes you will find is that October and November are far more "green" then the base game. All the pictures I could find online of Germany in the fall show a significant amount of greenery still present, even into November. December is a much more traditional look, with a very brown, dead look. Snow terrain has been touched very little by me, I focused mainly on the trees and basic snow tiles.

    Hi all,
     
    I've been working on a whole bunch of scenarios for CMRT, and finally got around to finishing a couple. I'll use this thread to post whatever I manage to finish. I have 4 for today (though one has already been posted before, just tweaked it a little), and hopefully I can put the finishing touches on 1 or 2 for tomorrow. Most of these have had barely any playtesting, beyond what I could do by myself. That's where I need feedback from you guys. These are not 100% tested. Please let me know what I can change to make it better!
     
    I like small, company sized engagements. All of these have 2 companies or less. These may be suitable for H2H, do not have anyone to test them with though. All my maps are "hand made" originals. They look best with my terrain mod IMO!

    As a side project, I'm slowly but surely compiling  'All in One' Modpacks for games without them.
    I suspect it's easier for most people esp. the Steam Players (when it's CMFI's turn).
    I know @Ithikial_AU's 'All in One' for CMBN has been quite popular.
     
    As for the sounds, that's the ME soundscape from H&E/CMSF2 which I had assumed was finished... but it turns out still needs a few tweaks here & there for WW2.
    Oh, I'll politely point out that the footsteps are perfectly audible too 😇!

    Firstly, many thanks to the creators of this mod.  It is an amazing piece of work. 
    I do have a simple query.  I have loaded the mod as per the instructions set out by 37mm in the first comment in this thread as it relates to the steam version.  After doing that, I can access the standard scenarios, however, I like to create my own scenarios using the editor and that is where I have the problem. 
    In trying to create a scenario I do not seem to be able to access the various modded units and vehicles (e.g. the US Army 1960s infantry).  I can only basically access the standard CMSF2 Syrian campaign units and vehicles which appear to have been modified by the mod files to have "woodland" type gear instead of desert gear.  The only exception is that I can access Vietnamese Uncon forces which have been changed by the mod from the Syrian Uncon models.
    I would like to create my own scenarios using the modded US and ARVN force models.
    Is anyone else having these problems with the editor?  Am I doing something that is obviously wrong?  Hope someone can help me with some ideas.

    There is a "flooding effect" when water tiles interact with marsh & mud tiles, I've been using this feature (at first I thought it was a bug) in H&E a lot... but I'm not too sure how extensive the flooding can get.

    I mentioned it in this thread as well as stated in the scenario description field that the AI was leading the Americans. But point take...😎 i will make a note off this for the future and try to be more clear as to wich side the player is commanding. More directly state this in the scenario description field and also add a short notice on the non playable briefing screen that this scenario is ment to be played from the other side...

    @Erwin The G41 appears only in R2V so for now just use this if you have it. Until the devs fix it I guess.
