For this our foces have to defeat Russians on wide front on the south, advance 90 km with limited AD capabilities, engage Russians in Mariupol, breach their outer positions, defeat them in urban fights to join with Mariuopl garrison and... what next? Withraw back by the same 90 km, repelling Russian attacks? Or to sit in siege, but how much ammunition need to bring with you? Alas, unil Russians are grinded this is impossible. This is high risk to lost these "two light brigades" already on march.

Depends on how much stuff is squirreled away in those nuclear bomb proof tunnels.  Clean water, especially.
...I notice the news reports mentioned Ukraine use of AFVs in the operation to extract the 500 troops from the port. That doesn't sound to me like a force that is boiling its boots just yet.
Plus, once both sides settle down to a longer siege and the 'keener' combat ready forces get posted away to other fronts, do the remaining Russians start doing a little business with the 'Azov Nazi SS'? Even selling them ammo, to buy themselves a little peace from sniping. Such things happen.

Regarding: "Putin raises the white flag on Azovstal. "
I copy this from an Austrian newspaper forum (Der Standard), because it makes me giggle, unfortunately only in German:

"Meanwhile im Führerbunker irgendwo im Ural:

DAS WAR EIN BEFÄÄÄÄHL! DER ANGRIFF AUF AZOVSTAL WAR EIN BEFÄÄÄÄÄHL!"

Anyway, is there any chance that Ukraine troops can reach Mariupol soon enough to make a difference?
    Best regards

Mechanical Fuze timers are cranky, at least when I was in the artillery 30 years ago.  They mechanically have to be set and the observer observes the height of burst and make fuze timer adjustments.  Not a fast process, and they have a higher rate of failure than normal PD (point detonating) fuzes.
Variable Time fuzes (VT) are better but the radio transmitters can be jammed or triggered by emitter before hitting the target.  Also the ground surface is a factor.   Radio waves from the VT fuze can penetrate mud before getting a sufficient signal return to set off the round.   And it is major mud season in Ukraine.  All of the above plus cost and availability probably play into why there is not many videos of them being used.

    Interesting indeed.
This reminds me how I explained to my daughter that something like WW2 is hardly possible any more, because there are not enough young males around, at least in first-world countries. Seems that I was at least partially right.
My grandparents all had 10+ siblings. Way easier to send some of them off to the front than with todays one or two children families.

Procrastinating like the best of 'em, I was trying to find out whether these S-8 rockets (at least) have a self-destruct mechanism.
Found out that two variants exist (S-8P, S-8PM) which release chaff for confusing enemy radar.
Maybe, just maybe, this may be an explanation for the indirect fire.

Hover your mouse pointer over the user name left of the post. A window should appear with an 'Ignore' button in the bottom right corner.

The first part is to control the game. If you know programs like AutoClicker that let you specify a sequence of mouse clicks and repeat it... you can program something similar with python, which has tools that allow you to emulate keystrokes and mouse clicks (PyAutoGUI). So, I have a loop that clicks in various places on the screen, pressing the buttons I need in the right sequence and with the right time delays in between, like a human would.
The second part is to process what is happening on the screen. For this I save a screenshot (by having Fraps running in the background and by emulating an F10 press). Again, python has tools (PIL) to load an image file and, for example, look at individual pixel values. I know where to expect the tank unit icons that have been spotted. If there is a bunch of black pixels nearby, it means that there is a solid contact on an enemy unit in that position. No black pixels = it is either a tentative contact or nothing.
The screenshot taking part is quite inefficient - I would prefer reading the pixels right off the screen, without saving anything to the disk. But I haven't found any library that would do that with CM. They just return the main menu screen, same as when you use printscreen in the game.
I have no idea how the magic works inside those libraries I linked to. I just have some basic understanding of how to use them.
I hope some of those words make sense

    Regarding the original question.
My child is still sleeping, and my wife went out shopping.
So, I have the choice between
Programming cool **** myself Installing 'Easy Red 2', which I definitely want to check out and support. Of course, I choose option (1) and make the world a better place for our customers!
I guess that the train of thought of BFC is similar.
It is a result of the realization that one does not live forever, and productive time is precious.
