Blackatmis
I've got money earmarked and burning a hole in my pocket to give to Battlefront for CMC. It's a rough economy, don't you want it? If you're interested in showing demand for this game, please post a reply and we'll see how much demand we can show in the number of replies. I know it's been stated by one of the worker bees that there may be a possibility if they ever completely stopped development they might just push CMC out "as is" as an alternative to junking it. Please at least do that for us, Battlefront, as I am sure that there are modders out there who would tweak any outstanding issues.
Conte Malaspina
Hunter said he is 99% there and given the interest Battlefront has recently taken in this game I don't think we should expect a halk-baked game. But if it helps, yeah, I'm interested, and am willing to pay for a finished product.

Baron von Beergut
Ditto Conte's post - sounds like things are moving again, so they will release when they are ready or be honest enough to say if there are new issues I would hope. So count me in whenever they release it... BvB

Smithers
Still waiting! Where did we get a 99% done figure as posted earlier in the thread?
Ike
I take it that this thread is to express our desire to own CMC? Well, yes, I rather would like to own a functioning copy of it. Yes, thank you. I'm even willing to pay money for it, possibly even in advance, if I could be given some date certain for delivery or download availability. There.

Lt Bull
DEMAND: Please do not waste any more of your/our time (and YOUR money) trying to code a CPU opponent for this game. You guys are NOT CPU opponent/AI coding specialists/designers and we don't expect you to be or even try to be. Concentrate on what we hope you ARE good at...designing a camapign layer that interfaces as best it can with CMx1 that actual humans can play, understand and appreciate. Just release a game that provides an interface for at least two human players to conduct a simulated campaign battle gainst each other. CMC should be nothing more/nothing less than one big number crunching interface that does all the tracking/recording/randomising needed to present and simulate a campaign battle between two human opponents who make all the decisions relating to the battle. To all the dreamers out there fantasizing about being able to play CMC against a CPU opponent...forget it! Let these guys walk before they can run. It is tough enough for these guys to design this game just to interface with CMx1 and the human player. To expect them to then literally be able to "train a computer how to play the game as an competent opponent" is a challenge that will just waste further time and money.

Tom Norton
Please do not get me wrong, I want this product. But, there are nagging questions that seem to cloud my current enthusiasm. IF the recent posts are taken at face value. I keep wondering what is this ONE percent that keeps this game from being ready to go to Beta? Why did it take an act of BFC to kick start this apparently stalled project? Not to mention how the development team, for all practical purposes, abandoned this forum. When Hunter posts a recent map, it brings back the dream of what this could be. And then silence. I suspect that there is more going on here then it is 99% ready to go. Again, I am ready, willing and able to add this project to my collection. However, I think something is going on here that does not add up to the information we have been given. I hope I am wrong, and open play testing starts today. But, something isnt going right here, and I am getting a little more uncomfortable each passing day, since the BFC "annoucement". A product at 99% complete has a lot more to show/advertise then what we see currently. Face it, when Hunter shows a new map, there is a perk of interest from the loyal cadre. Then, nothing. So, if it isnt 99% or even 90%, there would still be more promotion then this. But, if it is not that close to being finished, then does that force the judgement that the project is dead? If you reread the BFC annoucement regarding where CMC needs to go, there seems to be an urgency to get going. Sadly, one map is not going to do it. This can only lead to the speculation that CMC has a major problem, and we do not know what it is.
norvandave
My take... I won't purchase this without a decent AI.
easytarget
if everyone who ever visited this forum, not posted in a thread here mind you, just anyone who cracked open the CMC forum, bought this, it would still no doubt qualify as a financial disaster for BFC the market this targets is so narrow its comical we're not even talking about anyone who ever owned and played any of the CMx1 products, which is narrow enough at this point net-net: if this thing ever sees the light of day, its impact to the gaming world will be the equivalent of the sound of one hand clapping
Redwolf
Sorry to say, but by now I'm convinced it will suck, if it ever makes it out. The work style as it is presented here over the last years doesn't lead to good software.
RockinHarry
Think it´s still worth the wait and the purchase. I´m in!

Its essentially a glorified mod for CMBB. It is costing BFC in that Charles has to code a special version of CMBB to interface with CMC. Probably only about a few weeks worth of work too, speculation here. Sure the Hunting Tank Software guys will surely get a slice of the money, but deservedly so. But its hardly a "financial disaster" you indicate to. So for the most part it's being built on their own time & dime. And I bet your also the type to bitch about free mods not being of better quality too. Sure this won't be free, but it probably will be no more than $20.
