totally hear you BulletPoint, not everyone wants 1941.  But 1942, 1943?  Epic.  Winter battles, summer battles, Operation Blau.  Don't need the best tanks to be epic.  Operation Winter Storm, Operations Uranus & Saturn, Kursk?  Epic for sure.   It's all good: 44-45, 41-43.  Different but all good.

From what Steve said earlier, it seems that while this issue may be  a real thing, it's a vanishingly small one as far as BF and most customers are concerned.  Are they going to increase sales because they spent a bunch of time re-writing code for something the vast majority of users don't even know exists and hasn't hurt their game experience? 
I would be pretty angry if they spent their limited resources on stuff like this instead of getting out products covering eastern front 1941-43.  And that's also where they would sell a lot of stuff -- how many current customers would pre-order games covering that theatre/timespan?  99%?   How many new customers would jump in?  Imagine those epic campaigns.  I wouldn't care if they chose to keep the game just like it is and just get out games to cover this era.

These are all great tips.  And every time I don't follow them I pay for it. 

I have similar thoughts to SimpleSimon on this.  I read this excellent book by Andrew Roberts on Napoleon (link below).  In the very first pages he contends that it is grossly unfair to equate Napoleon w Hitler, and his book makes this case very well IMO.  Napoleon was not out to exterminate or enslave people.  Hitler's plans would require the extermination, banishment, or enslavement of dozens (hundreds?) of millions of people.  Nap's not some bleeding heart nor is he a bloodthirsty lunatic; nor is he all that much worse than many (most?) of the monarchs ruling Europe at the time.
But he was really, really good at war most of the time.

Even the Beta testers were kept out of the loop on this project. BFC played its cards very close to the vest on this project. You're hearing about this now because Slitherine posted something, and what they discussed publicly is about as much as BFC can discuss publicly. Talk too much and we may wind up camping out in the Ecuadorian embassy trying to avoid arrest.

I highly recommend an Israeli show called FAUDA (I think sburke turned me onto this - sorry if that was someone else) – a very hard, dark gritty counterterrorism series (Israel vs Palestinians) in which it’s hard to figure out who the bad guys are.  But, great writing, characters and acting.  FAUDA is sophisticated in that the morality and ethics of both side are "flexible" and it's often hard to tell the good from the bad guys(!)  Remember how the spaghetti westerns like Sergio Leone's THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY revolutionized the western and essentially killed off the traditional Hollywood western?  To me FAUDA does the same thing to the Hollywood "counter-terrorism" genre.  After FAUDA the Hollywood TV series seem silly, trite, formulaic and very unrealistic (and unwatchable).
BLACK CROWS is also v good.  Basically it’s an anti-ISIS propaganda TV series supposedly created in Saudi Arabia, but mysteriously has very good Hollywood values and the director and crew have no credits one can check.  Hmmm…  Also, sometimes I wonder if it’s intentionally funny or what…
For comedy I stumbled on “The Indian Detective” which I thought very funny.  Felt foolish when I found out that the lead (a Canadian-Indian chap called Russell Peters) is an internationally famous stand-up comedian who I had never heard of.  I mean… Russell has performed all over the world to sold out 20,000+ seat auditoriums in NY, LA as well as Las Vegas famous.  Much of his audience seems to be immigrants and minorities and he ruthlessly makes fun of them, and they LOVE him as his routines apparently are so accurate and really hit home.  As a child of immigrant parents I agreed with his audience member who are interviewed...  Russell has amazingly funny insights and observations when he described them and how they behaved towards their kids.  He is waaay funnier than (say) Seinfeld who used to be my favorite.  I found three documentaries on Netflix about Russell - a couple of which are tapes of his shows - brilliant.

Florida is basically a giant senior living community.  And was late to start taking measures against covid spread.  Maybe that state will be lucky, but if this virus is spreading there it will be a disaster.  It just takes a few infected workers with little or no symptoms to infect hundreds at a time. 
And Boston Globe newspaper just had 16 pages of death notices for one day.  All should note that we are undercounting covid deaths since some number are dying w/o being tested. 
So how does something like this become identity politics?  It's basic epidemiology.  It's basic science. Yet here we are.  I thought climate denial was insane but turns out it's only the tip of an iceberg of brainwashed lunacy.

Bolshie lover?  uhhhhh, the wehrmacht et al killed around 25M folks in soviet russia.  Russia did not attack germany.  So yes let's 'honor' them??  for a war of murder and extermination??  Hitler's plan was for the enslavement, banishment or murder of 160M people.  So yes, the russian invasion was certainly a most 'honorable' endeavor.  As long as we all agree that those 160M weren't actually people, but some sort of subhuman eastern hordes like all those twisted german memoirs always say (I've read piles of them).    
The last stand of the wehrmacht was utter madness, not something honorable.  It was the reckoning of their murderous actions.  Having said that, I am really looking forward to fighting on the Oder and in Hungary.  As either side.  Yes, well, I have to reconcile that somehow.....
And having said that, I am currently fighting through Blunting the Spear as wehrmacht, so where do I really go with this......
