Tank battles north of Chernigov ( The tweet says is north of Kiev, but it is actually +130 Km away from it).
Supposedly the counter attack to retake the airfield is about to begin, hopefully they are able to retake it before those IL-76 arrive.

Reshade is basically a lightweight graphics program you can install to run over a game (almost like Steam Overlay or Fraps) which can change/improve the visuals by adding various graphics filters/post processing effects.
It’s relatively simple to install and combined with some of the amazing mods out there can really help to improve Combat Missions visuals quite a bit. My own preset improves the anti aliasing, sharpness, contrast and tones and most importantly for my enjoyment tweaks the colours to make things look a bit more gritty.

Two man UK sniper team equipped with an AT launcher each, set to hide in an isolated farm far to my left flank. After taking out both tanks they effortlessly picked off the dazed crew trying to crawl away. I think someone has earned a medal in this particular engagement...

Add to an empty mod folder.
The only placeholder fix I can think of would be to search for every .wav in the modpack then cut them out & put them elsewhere for now (out of the mod folder).

I've been working on & off on this for awhile but I'm finally ready to release an "Initial Beta" for the CMSF2-Afghanistan modpack...
Mods used, include...
CMA terrain (tweaked & resized for CMSF2),
CMA trees by @Bil Hardenberger (reordered & tweaked for CMSF2),
A mix of (tweaked) foliage from @SeinfeldRules & @Kieme(ITA),
ANA, Taliban, poppies & walls by @Zveroboy1,
US Uniforms by @IICptMillerII,
Other uniforms by @JMDECC,
A mix of buildings by @Zveroboy1 & @Kieme(ITA) (although reworked to standard resolutions),
A bunch of vehicle mods... mostly by @MikeyD or from CMA,
ME soundscape 1.5 alongside (subdued) voices from HQS & extra Afghan FO voices & ambient sounds,
ME Effects (beta 4),
"Heaven & Earth" skybox plus background by @Kieme(ITA),
@BarbaricCo movie mode shaders,
Flavour objects from CMA & (for the [mountains] tag) its background,
Modified CMSF2 @Vinnart icons (as per "Heaven & Earth"),
Modified @xacto Chaos theme UI,
Afghanistan music extras.
So far, there's only one tag in the modpack, [mountains] which can be activated by the usual CMSF2 method... however I've also added a number of zipped mods which can be unpacked when required...
@Zveroboy1's ANP Technicals,
A rudimentary 'Dutch to ANA' mod (for use with the 'Heart of Darkness' campaign),
Updated CMSF2 'Marsh to Water' mod (again, for use with the 'Heart of Darkness' campaign).
Here's the download link, as per usual with my stuff, it's advised to put all of this into an EMPTY mod folder only.

Started playing though - I'm only three missions in and already had to come here to say how well done this is!
Being rather burnt out on "shock and awe" from the official campaigns and majority of scenarios - this is a breath of fresh air!
Never has poking your head over the crest of a hill as BLUFOR has been so tense! The fewer assets you have, the more you care about them.

Yeah, that T34 kill had a dozen crosses blooming after the hit. It was a desperate move and yet it was that or simply surrender. Only taking the Panther out would give us a fighting chance, and that failed. The battle itself was over in 6 minutes. Kohl pulverized everything on the map with that tank. There was no cover aside from the barn and farmhouse and you saw how that worked out.
Excellent that the fade to B&W worked for you as well. Feedback is great because I'm learning and adapting my writing/design as I do this.
I get delaying reading your comic because you knew you had to wait a while for the next. COMMANDO Comics comes out bi-monthly, so I think subscribers get their fix more often. I don't subscribe but I did get a lot of their collections in book form. It's surprisingly good, I see the formula is to present something and have the story go totally somewhere else. Kinda happened here too, though not by design!
Dmitry's story will continue, but I have to work out with Kohl what our focus will be as it impacts him as well.

I wanted to make the two sides more clearly delineated in terms of dialogue and the two simplest things are to actually use proper language, and to use different colours - with my Russians' the text balloons having a decidedly crimson hue.
As I develop my own style for this, I've had to make my own graphics from scratch as well - so the "Whizz" onomatopoeia is something I devised for this comic.
And yes, Combat Mission is a great inspiration - if you like telling stories, you can certainly find them in the game.
