  1. Despite the brief periods of pixelation, this is a brilliant video. Keep 'em coming!
  2. I was disappointed not to have the old-style operations too, as I really enjoyed them first time around.
  3. That is a good point about the chances of a crew keeping the same tank from '42 through until '45. Strikes me as pretty unlikely, As far as know, in the case of the Desert Rats, when they came back to Britain to prepare for Normandy their tanks remained behind to be used in Italy, and they were equipped with new "mounts". I'm not sure if that was the same in the case of US units.
  4. I'm always reluctant to have a go at BFC, cuz I think by and large they do a great job. But having gone to the trouble of including windmills, dutch style buildings, street signs etc in MG, they could have provided "Bailey" and pontoon bridges as well. Oh well, it gives me chance to test out my map editing skills.
  5. Unlike some games, in this one making mistakes and getting hammered by the enemy are all part of the fun. And hopefully, part of the learning process.
  6. Having run a little test on this scenario I have to agree with the above. It would have been nice to have some kind of guidance as to what kind of vehicles could cross which kind of bridges in the briefing. It is bad enough having a "Bailey Bridge" that looks like a traditional Dutch canal bridge, it is more annoying to find out that you have no way of knowing what weight of AFV it can carry. Hopefully these sort of things can be fixed in the future, as and when different kinds of bridges become available to the scenario designers.
  7. Of course, I should have written Alt-Tab, but I'd not long had my tea. @ John1966.... Yes, having something like that to refer to would be pretty good. Also, I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but taking a overview look at hedgerows from camera level 6 will show up the marked different in thickness between the different types.
  8. Alternatively John, just save Baneman's pic and have it minimized down on your taskbar. Start up your game, then use Alt-T when you want to refer to the pic.
  9. As funny as "Bring me a shrubbery" was, I think Bud_B was nearer the mark with the "How not to be seen" sketch.
  10. This is a good idea. You could even take a screenshot for future reference.
  11. It can be confusing. But, like Michael says. you just have to get down and look. I know that some designers use dirt terrain tiles at gaps in the hedgerows. They come in handy for us as players as well as replicating their usage by the local farmers. To my way of thinking the hedges around people's houses or in towns and villages should look fairly neat and tidy. Those hedgerows that the game styles "Low bocage" will be more uneven.
  12. I agree with sburke about #3, it certainly looks like a barn. I pays to to bear in mind, particularly with farm buildings, that holes caused by age or weather, or even made in the walls or roof tiles by their defenders will not be big enough to show up on screen, unlike holes caused during the course of your battle by heavy weapons.
  13. I'm not sure how many of the Kriegsmarine who took part in the Market-Garden fighting would have been fit for " sailing on the high seas". I think that most of them were trainees and based at Royal Netherlands Naval Schools that the Nazis had taken over. There were obviously some officers, and guard detachments, who were happy to "see action", but I suspect that most of the fighting was done by relative youngsters who wished that their training was happening back in Kiel, Wilhelmshaven, or wherever, back in Germany.
  14. Rocketman beat me to it. I was also going to suggest watching and saving Proambulator's videos if you are a regular youtube viewer. He is very good at explaining what is happening on screen both in his AARs and in his scenario design videos.
  15. @ Holien ... Sound advice. It didn't occur to me to blast holes for my vehicles to move through using the Sexton's ammo. Perhaps I was too busy laying down smoke.
  16. I played this scenario about a month or so ago. A beautiful looking map, and a really interesting battle to fight. I played against the A.I. Firstly as the Germans, and managed a "Major Victory" without losing any of my tanks, and not too many infantry. That was a pleasant surprise. As the British I only got a "Draw". I used a hell of a lot of smoke to cover my withdrawal and kept my fingers crossed that the A.I. would advance fairly slowly. I found the biggest problem to be just keeping my vehicles moving along those tight little lanes. it will probably be quite some time before I play again. That gives me time to work on my traffic management skills.
  17. When I played this campaign, I suffered 3 defeats, got 2 draws and only managed to win one mission "Hells Highway", and that was only a Minor Victory, and yet when the campaign finished it ended as a "Draw". I was expecting some kind of defeat, so was pleasantly surprised.
  18. Just to clarify... 66mm HE.. are rifle grenades.... 60mm HEAT.. are bazooka rounds.
  19. It certainly looks like you put a hell of a lot of effort into your work. It is nice to know that your mods will be updated at some time in the future. I for one don't mind waiting.
  20. It has always puzzled me why I only get Scottish divisional insignia on vehicles and not on the infantry uniforms. Shame they've not been upgraded to v2 and beyond, as the screenshots that I've seen look great.
  21. I'm not sure quite what is causing that. Having satchel charges should not make a difference, given the fact that Engineer Platoon HQs have a "Mark Mines" command button and never carry satchel charges. You might need to do some more tests to find the cause.
