  1. I think overall that people vastly underestimate how popular history and in particular World War 2 history is becoming and already is. World of Tanks, War Thunder, Men of War, Company of Heroes are largely World War 2 arcade games and I still play them but I evolved from them much like a lot of you from ASL (Only that was pretty freaking hard core lol). Those games while not presenting the ultimate realism make people interested in the subject which is awesome, it makes me happy to see. The problem is there are a lot of inaccuracies in them that people get caught up on, so when they look for something more realistic as there interest grows they find games like Combat Mission (if they can ). Youtube channels like "Extra Credits" are doing fantastic history series, right now they just wrapped up a special on the battle of Kursk and Suleiman the magnificent, there next project that has already begun is on the economics of World War 2, and these series get hundreds of thousands of views per episode. There is a larger market to tap into here that I think is becoming incredibly important, you can attract these people if they find the game. I am not saying we need to plaster pin-ups with 'Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg" on porn websites, but pursuing avenues to spread the love around would be beneficial I think. A lot of them may be young, but I was 16 when I first got CMBN and posted on the forums (look at me now! ), they will post about stupid stuff happening and make rather useless posts, but if you can retain these people they can become loyal like I have. I wish I could say how I found Combat Mission, but it definitely wasn't through regular means. https://www.youtube.com/user/ExtraCreditz
  2. Uh oh I awoke Steve with Steam! But no seriously I use SteamSpy to check out this kind of stuff, its really interesting to see how well these niche games sell on Steam. Heres the Steamspy page on Command- http://steamspy.com/app/321410 Although I think that second number after the first owners indicates refunds, also people who own the game on Matrix may have asked for Steam keys so those numbers are probably a little off no matter what. Another caveat to this is that Command has gone on sale before for 40$ instead of the usual 80$. I should have prefaced that I am not looking for a Steam fight here, Ive been down that road before!
  3. Ignorance absolutely plays the part and I have also pointed people in the direction of this website, but its a fact of the industry that games usually release on said distribution problems and people expect it.
  4. Where can you learn about Combat Mission other than finding the website or coming upon someone mentioning it in passing on a website? Combat Mission is not an easy game to find for the press because it isn't available at your usual suspects, ala "Steam", or other popular digital distribution platforms. The game is niche of course but than again Command: Modern Air and Naval Operations has sold 10,000 copies there and has got a mention, even if it wasn't one of praise. If you look at Diplex Heated's Youtube Combat mission videos comment sections (Which get about 50,000 views and are asked for on his channel), half of them are saying how awesome the game is for the most part and the others are saying "Where can I find this its not on Steam"?
  5. Its amazing how much of a difference this UI makes...
  6. The AI is scripted in Quick Battles, so any movements you see them make unless they are retreating are put in by the quick battle map designer. The overall "strategic" AI doesn't exist, there is nothing telling them to attack this or that, only to move where the designer has told them to.
  7. Well there's a scripted AI so hes not completely wrong when he says that.
  8. WHOA! This looks amazing! *Ahem* Ill gladly beta test.
  9. I have a feeling JuJu could profit off of this, 5$ a download, he'd be rich!
  10. Stoumont is pretty much Final Blitzkrieg: Stalingrad Edition.
  11. The assault on Stoumont has begun...determined resistance has been met, Ill see you gentlemen in Antwerp! Panzers vor!
  12. Welcome to the forums! I like to use Imgur to upload images, you can either create an account and upload to an album or just simply click upload at the top of the webpage to host your images on the site. Once you've done that you can link directly to the picture using its link on this website to embed it! http://imgur.com/
