  1. The ultimate Catch-22! Have you tried either of these? You'll likely need to explain in detail what's wrong and your efforts to fix. http://www.valvesoftware.com/contact/ Try the webmaster. https://help.steampowered.com/#Login?redir=%23Home%3Fsessionid%3Ddc52e4885f42b7248ce94f9b Try the forgot account or account stolen options Please advise whether helpful or not. Good luck!
  2. Yup. You did say, "Stay frosty". Maibock is a style of beer, a "May Beer" traditionally brewed for spring and Easter. There's an embarrassment of riches for the plethora of craft brew choices available now. I was drinking Schell's (New Ulm, MN) "Maifest". 'Twar good! Went very well with your lessons of war. Thankee agin'.
  3. @Slim, As expected, these are excellent. Thank you for your time and effort. You mentioned "no voice" between posting 4b and 4c but it seems you meant "no voice" for all four (4). Is that correct? My feedback is that I would like more explanation, if possible, as follows: 4a - How much time is allowed for achieving the objective? How time is a factor? - When does SLOW command cause "tired" / "fatigued"? Suggestions to manage; affects on effectiveness. - Whether cover arc's are static to the advancing unit. How often they should be refreshed? 4b Explain - How did / should you prioritize targets for suppressing fires? - Why you chose not using "pause" when advancing 2nd & 3rd squad fire teams? - Using smoke - when and why? 4c - Could you state / expain the difference in ammo consumption between target / target light? - What factors should one use chosing one over the other for the judgement call? 4d - Why you first used smoke here? While, Bil's "Battle Drill" is superlative, these demonstrations compliment them very well. I stayed frosty with a Maiboch! Kudos for fine work. Again, thank you. Good luck and good gaming.

  5. Military History. freebie on Amazon Kindle 1-March-2016 The Battle of Hurtgen Forest by Charles Whiting It was the longest battle ever fought by the US Army, Thirty thousand American GIs were killed or wounded. A battle that has been ignored for more than fifty years - and one that should never have been fought. From September 1944 to February 1945, eight US infantry and two US armoured divisions were thrown into the `green hell of Hurtgen': fifty square miles of thick, rugged, hilly woods on the Belgian-German border, full of German soldiers in a deadly network of concrete bunkers. The butcher's bill was high; casualty rates ran to 50 per cent and more for most rifle companies. The High Command, from the relative comfort and security of their headquarters, miles away from the forest, refused to admit there had been a mistake. Careers, and the pride of the army, were at stake. Charles Whiting is the author of numerous history books on the Second World War. Under the pen name of Leo Kessler he also wrote a series of bestselling military thrillers, including `Guns at Cassino' and `Valley of the Assassins'. 6. Too funny, Baneman! You actually got to play CMFB already! We're just sniffing our noses in well concealed envy . . . @Lordhedgwich, check out Baneman's exceptional AAR of a hard earned victory against Bil Hardenberger in CM Final Blitzkrieg - AXIS (Attack) BETA Battle Report Then check Bil's AAR with his excellent lessons in pre-battle planning at CM Final Blitzkrieg - ALLIED (Defense) BETA Battle Report Bil clearly demonstrates that no plan survives contact with the enemy but his very good plans are hard to beat. Baneman beat him with wonderful lessons of his own. Let their saga "pump you up"!
  7. @umlaut, I had not noticed such regarding FGM since I joined in October 2014. It is certainly Anglo-centrist but my Midwestern American sensibilities found nothing offensive; certainly sophomoric on occasion which lends to a bemusing kind of charm but nothing untoward. I'm sorry your experience was negative. I don't follow all the threads but those I do seem focused now on building a more viable CM gaming community. I hope a return visit might prove more gratifying. Good luck and good gaming!
  8. Bwaa haa haa! The spirit of dissent still survives . . . Be of stout heart. Wait for the Store!
  9. +1 +1 Yes and yes! And way too often overlooked when the excitement rises.
  10. Your men have passed my inspections. Load 'em up and move 'em out! Well done. Thank you, again.
  11. I noticed the same glitch as well as a moment of police sirens accompanying your squad drills! Not worth fixing. Your troops have passed inspection. Load 'em up and move 'em out! Thank you for these tutorials. I learn something new with every one of them.
  12. +1 (not really but loved the suggestion. Thanks for the gift of laughter . . . )
  13. @SLIM, okay here's mine. 1) The SNAFU around 5:00 minutes was distracting. Can you edit out minutes 5:00-5:30 instead? 2) Shorter and Sweeter: Consider three (3) shorter video's (Lessons 3a, 3b, and 3c) instead of one lesson lasting almost 30 minutes. - CM TTP 3A = Split Squads, Allied forces. The first 16:30 minutes - CM TTP 3B = Split Squads, Germand forces. Minutes 16:30 to 23:00. - CM TTP 3C = Split Squads, comparisons & conclusions. Final 4 minutes The presentation is informative and excellent. Smaller doses of it provide better replay and opportunities to enhance with additional emphasis. Thank you for doing these!
  14. Thank you! or apropos to the first URL, "Danke viel mals!"
  15. I never realized this. Good to know. It explains a lot. Thank you.
  16. Possibly, But revealing the "Iron Skies - 2" derivative suggests the initial "Iron Skies" Nazi Moon Fortress which has not yet been mentioned yet . . . .
  17. Good stuff. Question about WW2 infantry unit OOB's; particularly comparing like units within the same army at different times and different type units against each other at the same times. There's a conversation at The Few Good Men on what's available and where to find them at the platoon and company level. Any recommendations? Thank you.
  18. I concur. Maps provide perspective. I was suggesting that if a battlefield sketch map is easier to render, it accomplishes the same goal and spares you from more burdensome effort.
  19. Me too. I find the maps useful but not essential. If they are a PITA to construct, consider a simpler "hand drawn" or more rudimentary field expedient commander's battle map kind of thing.
  20. See discussions in CMFB forum. URL = http://community.battlefront.com/topic/121564-is-fb-more-optimized-than-the-others/
  21. Yes, there is. URL = http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/threads/mods-aris-and-other-popular-mods-combined-into-easy-to-download-packs.17477/
  22. Of course! Mea culpa! I forgot which thread I was in when posting. You're very welcome anyway.
  23. Only one of which I'm aware. "The 28th Fights Back_Version 2.0""; a modder's scenario. Allied Attack. 55+ Turns. Small map. Company sized battle. Infantry and Armor. 8 August 1944 USA 28th ID & 2nd AD vs GER 116th Panzer Division Vigourous resistance by the Germans allows them to still hold the heights between Gathemo and Perrier. For version 2.0 the force balance has been modified in order to allow allied players to get a victory without suffering great losses. Some terrain and foliage added to provide concealment and approach routes. Deleted some Axis assets and modified headcounts."
  24. Braka Braka Braka, indeed! Good one's for @SLIM! Wonderful CAAR. Well managed battle. More kudos pending. Thank you Bud_B! Hope your wife grows well.
