  1. Erwin, do you have the PTO mod in your folder? LongLeftFlank's (I think???) mod included some Brit vehicle or another to look more like landing craft. IIRC, it looked like that Kangaroo with the plate between the circular "pulpit" and the driver's position missing, just as you describe.
  2. Wow, kick ass! Thanks sburke for the tip, but after more than 15 minutes of Windows still "working on" the search, I opted to look around in the windows folders for the appdata string where MOS found his (sorry, but I was glad to hear I wasn't the only one with the problem...I love company in my misery). I found it in less than 2 minutes manually, right where MOS found his. I sent a shortcut of the folder to the desktop for easy access. So, thanks a million sburke, MOS, and Johno! PS Do you think BFC should be alerted to this?
  3. Thanks Sarge, but I'm not sure what you mean. There is no such option when I right-click the Shock Force exe. Run as Administrator, Pin to Start, etc., are options, but no option to "Open File Location". Btw, I have Windows 10, and just to be clear, the folder "Saved Games" is there in the "Game Files" folder in the root location, along with all the other folders that should be there ..."Baked", Campaigns" "Quick Battle Maps", "Scenarios"etc., etc., it's just that there are no saved game files in that folder! And, again to be clear, the other folders do have everything in them that they should have...all the campaign files are in the Campaign folder, all the scenario files are in the Scenario folder and so on (except for the in/out email ones--no PBEMs at present). I originally thought this might have something to do with the old "compatibility" thing when CMBN (or was it FI) came out and certain types of files didn't show without some sort of manipulation (forgot what it was) but that doesn't seem to be it either. I will probably just wait until the new CMSF is released. Like I said, it's not really a major issue because the game runs fine, and the turns are saved and accessible. It's more of a WTF? matter.
  4. Believe me, Erwin, I have...about 8 times, lol! Nothing. I've used the search function a million ways from Sunday, plus looked in all the places where all the other games are located...namely PF(x86) and in Documents.... By the way, I thought I started this thread in CMSF Tech Support. So you can see I sometimes don't pay close attention; nonetheless, those saved games are nowhere where they should be, nor do they appear to be anywhere they shouldn't be! Everything game-wise works fine, as far as I can tell, but it's annoying and there is of course a nagging doubt that something is in fact broken. May have to go back to the helpdesk again... Thanks anyway, Erwin.
  5. Howdy, I haven't delved into CMSF for at least 6 years, ever since CMBN arrived on the scene, but I had a hankerin' for playing it again after BFC announced they were working on CMSF2 upgraded to v4.0. Of course, even though I have all the modules on discs, my comp's CD-Rom decided to go on the fritz about a week before this announcement, so I tried downloading again from my BFC account. No dice at first (expired licenses) but the Helpdesk, specifically John Costello and "BFC Steve" himself got me squared away with new licenses, etc. . And I am loving it, and can't wait for CMSF2! I forgot just how much the original game doesn't have that I've grown used to over the last 6 years of CMx2 development playing the WWII titles. Anyway, the strange thing thing is, I have all the files and folders where they ought to be in the game's root folder; C:/Program Files (86x)/Battlefront. But the "Saved Game" folder in there is empty...even though all my saved games show up fine and are accessible when I am in the game itself! Where did they go???? I've looked every where and they simply aren't anywhere to be found in my computer! Not really a big problem as far as playing the game, but there are inevitably some I want to delete, change the name of, etc., which I can't do if I can't find the little f**kers in the first place! Any ideas? Thanks!
  6. Hey Mord, check your CM Messages and your email.
  7. Mord, good to see you back. Got your PM...no, I never did redo the HG div uniforms. Haven't modded in ages (except for some stuff just for me---not good enough to put out there). Been pretty dormant in CM since last May...real life family issues, a quadruple bypass in August...you know, the usual stuff!
  8. The game is correct. Glider infantry wore regular US infantry uniforms. Big to-do as to whether they should be allowed to wear jump boots or, IIRC, even if they should wear airborne insignia (para wings). But they were basically dressed as GIs.
  9. I was going to suggest that you reduce the FO team to 90 or 80 percent to get it down to two men, but it looks like the game does it for you, lol!
  10. My system is fine, btw, except for some guy named Dr. Evil that keeps demanding a BILLION DOLLARS to unlock the next level and get more Health Bars for my pixeltruppen.
  11. Erwin, I downloaded some of it, and it appears as advertised...a compilation of various winter mods with the "Snow" tag removed so you can just plop them in your z folder and don't have to be concerned whether the scenario has the mod tag. Too bad I had already done all that work removing the tags from most of the snow mods for myself several months ago! Good job, Thief! Now, I should warn you that for some odd reason, I just received an email confirmation that I voted in 19 different jurisdictions today, none of which had any actual elections, and that I apparently voted for "Erwin" for dogcatcher in each instance. Don't know what the hell that's all about, but I wouldn't worry....
  12. Yup, I just checked it in CMFB, with a US heavy weapons company 81mm mortars. Smoke rounds are separate. Carry on.....
  13. Bulletpoint, if you ran out of mortar HE, you've also run out of smoke shells (they're counted in the total number of shells available...if you don't use them before you use up the total number, they are not available). At least that is how I understand it, and how I have seen it work (but maybe not for all types of mortar/arty???). Anyway, when out of smoke, I've seen the "Out of range/can't target" or some such message. So, are you sure you even have smoke rounds left?
  14. Sorry to hear that, Bootie. I was wondering the same thing as slysniper.
  15. Okay, thanks Ian! Sarge, you must exist in another dimension, lol!
  16. I haven't been able to access it on my comp or phone or IPad for about a week. All I get is a "No input file specified" notation on a blank white page whenever I try to access it. Anyone else having this problem?
  17. Yes, Badger's right, Mark. You will want to Rez-explode all the .brz files in the game folder. Then you'll have folders like Terrain and Soldiers. The .bmp texture files for uniforms are in there somewhere, and you'll see the naming convention for the uniforms. Good luck!
  18. I've seen it in all my games, both against the AI and against humans in pbems after v4 release (about 7 games so far). Brens and BARs consistently fire one shot at a time over about 150 meters, and in bursts under 150. I can't decide if I like it or not...less ammo wastage I would think over 150, but there are times when a sweet target like a team or whole squad shows itself at some range over 150 and they still just plug away with single shots.
  19. Cpt. Miller, I see the same thing. Troops under a barrage or stonk, or just receiving very heavy fire break and run at all the wrong times after 4.0. There's a fix of sorts. Thanks to IanL for this: If you want your men to stay put while getting shellacked, give them a full Pause order--not the timed ones--hit the farthest left button above the Orders box. It's an "O" with a horizontal line through it. Works very good to keep your men put.
  20. Although their Rarity factor is very high, I use the anti-gravity boots available after August '44.
