  1. Exactly, which is why I originally asked him about what appeared to be a pretty rigid stance on the matter.
  2. Thanks for that information, Ben! Sounds even more epic that R2V, and possibly CMSF2?
  3. Well, with you as the idiot, maybe some of us scaredy-cats will learn somefink!
  4. What Erwin said above, JulianJ, and aHappy Easter to you too! I make my own scenarios or, more often, I take an existing scenario and change out the NATO forces with Syrian Army types. Also, I have exploded every Red on Red campaign, which will give you quite a few scenarios.
  5. How far are you planning on taking this, LLF? I have thought about doing Taiwan-China uniform and gear mods, in both SF2 and CW, but I’m no good at buildings or vehicles.
  6. You certain you never uploaded U304's, umlaut? First, I love that HT, and always replace a few "regular" German HT's with the 304. Second, I am certain that they look a lot like your non-stripey camo versions. But anyway, thanks man! Edit: Umlaut, I just checked my mod back-up folders, and I have these from you from around Thanksgiving (November) 2014. Even the stripey-camo one, lol!
  7. Why, Ian? I put armor covered arcs on AT guns often so they don't reveal themselves to enemies (armor or infantry) by firing on bloody infantry when I plan to use them on what they were made to kill.
  8. Thanks Schrullenhaft. Mine was a complete new CPU, OS and everything else. Anyway, when 5.0 comes out, I should need 4.0 and 5.0 keys, if I'm following you correctly.
  9. Schrullenhaft, I had a similar problem this past January with a brand new computer, using the full installer. I got everything sorted finally. (I have everyCMx2 title, all modules and packs, and all now up to date. My question is, next time I need to re-install (heaven forbid!), will I only have to use the 4.0 key for the full installer? When we get a version 5.0, will we all need to put in the 4.0 key and the new 5.0 key? The reason I ask, is that I don't quite see the advantage of the full installer if I need to put in all my license keys for every iteration of CMx2 (I get I don't need to install every patch, but still, I thought the idea was to put in one key and click one button, and voila! That doesn't look to be the case.) Thanks!
  10. It took me several years(!) of attempted uniform modding before I discovered there were color charts available on the web, lol!
  11. Color me, too! I thought it was exactly opposite; Flavor Objects provide concealment, not cover. Those jersey barriers someone (sorry, I should know this) did for SF1/SF2 will actually come in handy. Or will it?...I assume the cover is applied to the original flavor object, not the fake new image. Correct?
  12. Already have them swapped out. Of course, it’s only a cosmetic change. They fire like the original swapped-out weapon. Still fun, though.
  13. The Overlay function (in Corel Paint Shop Pro; not sure if it's called the same in Photoshop or Gimp) is your friend for putting camo on plain color textures. I built my own uniform in plain textures for the US and British troops in SF/SF2, so I could later put various camo patterns on them. I am sure that my hit and miss process was way more work than necessary, but being self-taught has some advantages. I'm still trying to figure out what those are!
  14. This Uncon bmp from CMSF2 confirmed what I was finding when I used to grind through various color coding attempts (pink where I think the knees are, purple where I think the elbows are, etc., then put in game and see where they show up).
  15. Curious as to why? It's from 1982.
  16. One of the best live gee-tar performances ever.
  17. Thanks domfluff. I missed that; or, more likely, I read it at the time and managed to completely forget all about it bny the next day!
  18. Good background, domfluff. I never knew that. Are you speculating, or was that information discussed at some point by BFC? Just curious.
  19. Yes, that’s a fair point. But jamxo, you could used the campaign scenario extractor (it’s a mod, forgot its name but I think Mad Mike made it) and try various scenarios without the fuss and worry of playing through the whole thing. And you can do that with (almost) all campaigns in all the titles. (There are a few campaigns for which the extractor doesn’t work for some reason.)
  20. What Erwin recommends, plus The Road to Dinas. Lately, all I play in SF2 is Red on Red with various mods. Syrian Regulars and Spec Ops are the government forces, and Uncons, Syrian militia, and reservists are the oppo. More of a challenge as government troops than any of the NATO forces.
