  1. Hmmm I've been thinking, after you lost LOS did you get a "?" contact where the chap was? Could it be possible to make "?"s targets? So if you have a recently contact or a sound contact you can attempt to fire at the place you think it is instead of area firing at the action spot? However I am guessing that units are limited to only being able to target an area target or a real unit though. Then would it be possible for in the event that you target a "?" an invisible enemy "object" is created at the "?" which you can't hit or kill, then your unit will fire at this new "enemy".
  2. Yes you do have to deploy ATGM systems (not the Javelin though). Also did you have your unit on hide, that will make them hold fire until you switch it off or they decide to stop.
  3. I noticed a new icon for RPG thermo rockets on the back cover, does this mean we'll be seeing them now?
  4. No you defiantly got a texture change as a building became heavily damaged. But that might come to CMx2 someday.
  5. Only idea suggestion I can think of would be: You know how you can select your armies composition in the scenario editor right? Well how about being able to save armies for use in later scenarios and also be able to choose them under a "custom army" (you choose it and the save directory folder opens for you to pick one) option for quick battles? You could then create certain types of armies that you like and choose to use them in quick battles.
  6. It's a bit more detailed this time too, you can knock out walls and ceilings/floors which can cause structural collapse if enough load bearing walls are destroyed.
  7. This is a rather old grief isn't it, "Dust Radar" has been around since CM:AK. I found that if you use the slow movement command you're vehicles don't make a dust trail though. They already fixed "Borg sight" and in the new patch they fixed "audio radar" maybe in the future we'll get dust and smoke that only appears if you have LOS?
  8. Can't comment on 2 but 1 happens to me all the time, I understand infantry hiding in enemy LOS but vehicles can do it too. I run into tanks not seeing tanks right in front of them all the time (much more common with Red but even without TIS they should still be able to see things right in front of them or in the open). BMPs are particularly bad as well, I can understand a vehicle hiding in some trees but when you come over a hill and drive 100m without seeing a BMP parked 300m ahead in the open I get worried.
  9. Yes they do fight very effectively. With their 9mm pistols.
  10. Games I'm waiting for: Steel Fury (interesting that BFC passed on it, seems like their kind of game considering they published T-72). The new patch for Steel Beasts Pro, change log's big enough for it to be considered a game. Men of War (I love this series). Theatre of War 2 (looks good so far). StarCraft 2 (mandatory purchase for everybody ). OFP2 and ARMA 2 (both look great). Gears of War 2 (multi looks much improved in this one). Brother in Arms 3 (looks good but don't like third person cover system). Digital combat Simulator: Black Shark (most realistic commercial combat simulator made, with the nifty KA-50 helicopter and more aircraft to be added modularly). Might also get Fallout 3 (being a Fallout fanatic I'm not sure I like where Bethesda is taking the franchise) and Farcry 2 (looks good and sounds interesting).
  11. But if they do that I won't be able to use my magic disappearing tank trick anymore. My friend has rather irate when my bulldozer tank repeatedly popped out right behind his tank, firing and then vanishing back behind the Bocage.
  12. The Shtora is the designation of just the IR jammer and isn't present on the T-90 in the module. The laser detectors are present and don't automatically slew the turret, the commander has to press a button for it to do that (don't want the turret to spin round in an inappropriate moment). The smoke screen is manual as well, I'm not sure if it's tied into the laser detector system or just the normal smoke triggers. The process is: an enemy tank lases you with its LRF. A warning goes off, the commander presses the button the turret spins to face the threat. You are then in a much better position to either pop smoke and manurer or fire at the target and your front turret armour is now facing the threat. Of coures the enemy tank has probably already fired its cannon at you but your front turret armour is much preferable to anything else and you know where the enemy is now. Edit: I see that Shtora has been used as the designation for the whole suite but I've seen it used to designate the IR jammer particularly though.
  13. Where's this 30 round limit coming from? The Mk4 has 100 round drums and the FN SCAR creation doesn't seem to have any information?
  14. Soldiers, FoW and MoW all have this (except the camera stays outside overhead) and it works really well. Just press a button and you can directly move aim and shoot any unit with full precision. It's great to be able to take out an enemy yourself for when your not confident enough in the AI.
  15. Also in shot 4 there is a burning plane in the back ground, is it scenery or a shot down aircraft? Might not be a plane though, it's hard to tell.
  16. Will the download server implode like last time?
  17. Thanks, that's one of the new features right? I run into the problem where all of my ATGMs will target the closest tank when confronted with several tanks, does that happens less now? Also the tanks were indeed the T-72M1V (2001).
  18. Just wondering, did you give those javelin launchers separate target orders? Or did I just see infantry fire at different tanks by themselves instead of shooting all their missiles at the closest target?
  19. The US army is favoured over the USMC for funding and new fancy tech, they also need their stuff to be compatible with their naval launch platforms.
  20. Oh yeah! 14m and I get sea side property, global warming here I come!
  21. Great vid! I love Russian weapon system advertisements. (I'll take 5 type Cs please!)
  22. DU isn't nearly as bad as something like agent orange was but I can see it does have some pretty serious problems. All the little particles and fragments left by the shells in the soil can work there way into plants and since it's a heavy metal it will then work its way into livestock and people. We may see health problems caused by DU years from now. Of course right now I'd be more worried about the 1000's of unexploded cluster sub-munitions lying around.
  23. In the campaign your T-72 starts off with a unique limited gun sight and then gets the normal better one after several missions.
  24. Very nice work there, can't wait to put it to good use. Looking at the model I'm guessing no Shtora IR jammers but it does appear to have TIS due to the lack of an IR light. How's its APFSDS penetration performance? Better than the current T-72s?
  25. I am very interested in this addition, can you tell us about what things the T-90 export model in Marines has? TIS? Arena? Shtora? Better ballistic computer and stabilisation? Better ERA? Better APFSDS? Any info would be lovely!
