    Four views of the valley, the map itself is within spitting distance of finished.....Just one more foliage band along the river, an orchard, some fields near the big compound and some (lots) more flavour objects to go:

    @George MC's scenarios often remind me of a puzzle box, with a key or series of keys to be found, each unlocking a layer of the scenario.

    I originally created this mission for CMSF 1. This version is a minor update to that mission to fix some anomalies identified in the porting process from CMSF 1 to CMSF 2; however, the AI is unchanged and no new plans have been added.
    Changes are as follows:
    (1). Ditches are reinstated after it had been identified that CMSF2 had converted the originals into wire fences.
    (2). Jungle areas now have light and heavy foliage tiles.
    (3). The Rokel Creek is now a water feature, rather than mocked up with marsh tiles.
    (4). LS1 is now an exit objective. Victory Points originally allocated to this objective in the original have now been reallocated to other terrain objectives in order to retain the point balance.
    (5). Minor changes have been made to the original briefing to correct an Americanism that had slipped into the original and to reflect the change to the objectives noted above.
    (6). Designer’s notes previously included in the main briefing are now in this dedicated document.

    Using the supply platoon removing everyone but the HQ (and I made him part of a Reinforcement group that will never arrive) and adding unconventional specialist teams as needed.

    To round out the Turkish mod pack, here's my almost-completed Dutch-turned-into-Turkish troops. Their new uniform  camou scheme looks like it might've been bought from Russia because it resembles the new Russian camou pattern. And yes the 'Artic Warfare Sniper Rifle' is used by the Turkish army.
    Next up, assembling the full mod pack. I hope its not too large.

    Under Syrian Formations Infantry and Mech Infantry, ATGM crews in the "Reserve Motorized Infantry Battalion" "Reserve Mech infantry Battalion (BTR) & (BMP)" are using a Mech/Guards uniform instead of the Reserve unifroms.
    Found under D Company 1st Platoon for all.

     
    Now if you choose a "Reserve Antitank Platoon" under Infantry Formations you'll get the regular uniforms that the Reserve troops use.

     
     
    Also the ATGM crews in "Reserve Motorized Infantry Battalion"  "Reserve Mech infantry Battalion (BTR) & (BMP)" have screwed up floating icons when the type AT3B is chosen in the editor.

    That Mosque be borked! 
    Assuming this sort of thing isn't part of a campaign it's always a very simple fix in the editor.....How complex depends on how complex you want your mosque, here's a quick fix I made for it (This took all of eight mouse clicks in total IIRC):

    Time, as ever mate.....You would not believe how long it took me get two out of three (still one to do further inland) looking half decent.  The existence of functional bridges requires you to mess with the contours in the vicinity and, well, you know how it is.....One thing leads to another! 
    The Flavour Object total is pretty low by my usual standards, but I won't be going too mental with them on the Master Map; streetlights, telegraph poles and a few signposts should do the job.....Once I write some scenarios on smaller chunks of it things will be different, for my usual nefarious reasons. 
    Similarly while this one has quite a few complex structures, it's nothing compared to the more mental areas of Ramadi & Mosul, most of the buildings are singles, I probably won't even tweak them. 
    I give you a marsh with water (WooYay!   ).....The sum total of my nights effort:

    PS - Yes I know this isn't very exciting for the rest of you compared to tanks blowing up and stuff, but I'm quite pleased with it and on a purely technical level it is something we never had before.

    What's the bridge and marsh drama? Bridges can be tricky but generally it is just a case of getting solid anchor points and making sure you use ditch lock for the elevation. Marshes should be dead easy unless you're using them around water (which granted is generally where marshes hang out) because then you get the water elevation issue coming into play. Should just be a case of jiggering around with the elevations.
    Reference the map - I think I remember this one, it has heaps of flavour objects which really drag out the load time and I seem to recall that it needs a lot or work on conjoining walls - which I know you just love

    Once that's been layered with a few thousand flavour objects (some of them, potentially explody) it'll look just fine IMHO!

    I guess my issue is that the media will now go to town on this guy, while studiously ignoring the fact that the whole goddam campaign is a complete trainwreck.....The questionable demise of this one sorry bomb-making mofo will suddenly become so much more important than all the other thousands of lives lost and countless crippled, scarred for life, driven out of their homes etc. etc. ad bloody infinitum. 
    We'll give all of that a pass, but we'll be damned sure to see justice done on a Captain (at the time) acting in extremis, and that will make everything OK.....Somehow?

    Discovered I'm not very good at bridges! 
    Next up, elevation clusters.....Quite a few of those fellas to work out, then buildings (oh the joy of buildings).

    @Pete Wenman's squalor mod on a modified @LongLeftFlank's Ramadi map looks very cool.  Should go to Beta in a few weeks my friend.  I'll let you know.

    We do think in very similar ways my friend and now we have the tools to make 'that map' come alive.....All praise be to the mighty @LongLeftFlank!

    Editor will allow you to do things you can not do in a scenario so save it and open as a battle and then test.

    I did this in battle. It worked. I just need to leave the vehicles dismounted at the beginning otherwise the former crews return into their vehicles. The German ones look pretty identical to the Marines ones (there is just the minor German flag on the plate but this can easily be modified) Marines can mount and dismount all day without help 😀. Damn I love it.

    The boss(es) at BFC do know about our yearning for 'uncons' in CMBS (I've certainly harassed them enough!).  The question is less 'whether' they'll show up but 'when'. Put them into the next module? Add them as part of a forces & vehicles expansion pack? They have their reasons for doing things in the order they do, though its difficult to tell what it is.
    If you were to look at Mujahideen in CM:Afghanistan you'll see they're carrying everything from AK-47s to Enfields to old M16s to FN rifles. For a CMSF2 mod pack I 'borrowed' a German G3 rifle model out of CM:Afghanistan to replace the Dutch C7 rifle. I was frankly surprise that the transfer worked!
