While flame-tanks were fairly widespread, you won't find any Jagdtigers or Sturmtigers in Caen or Arnhem.
The Battlefront crew have to make a living from this, so releasing these as seperate packs is almost certainly a business decision on their part.....Absolutely not a problem for me, I feel these titles are a bargain at the price. 
I have no idea how many hours I've spent either playing CM (All titles & all modules from CM:BO to the present) or mucking about in the editor, probably thousands.....I really can't think of anything that offers better value for money TBH, I've spent a couple of hundred times more on kits.

The option for more than one AI controlled faction (neutrals/co-belligerents etc.).

Easy Tiger.....The fella's just going through 'The Mine Frustration', we all have to do it at some point. 
Let's be honest. it's not one of the things that the game handles particularly well as things currently stand (I actually preferred the CMx1 system, where you could blow 'em up, or wait for ages and clear them), but a few mine-roller/mine-plough vehicles in a future Vehicle Pack will clear that right up.....Maybe Battlefront will give us more demining options in a future patch, maybe not?  Preferably not at the expense of something like persistent map damage, I would hope! 

Reinforcement by trigger.
Timed objectives.
Timed AI artillery fire plans.
And of course the biggy (for campaigners).....Persistent map damage.

That reminds me of my days playing Red Orchestra.....Did you play at all, your map is quite reminiscent (but I suppose it would be really)? 

Probably had them gold plated first.

You can work around this by giving the Blue side a single NATO/US unit as their first pick in the editor.
The unit doesn't need to appear and either aircraft or artillery units will do to get you the Blue flag.....It just has to be the first thing in the list of units.

In battle?  No way! 
You are seriously going to ask your crew to climb into a smouldering tank with several holes in it and then have them start messing around with the ammo stowage?
 
 

Please, please look at the Red C2 and give the Uncons some more Specialist Teams (esp. Breach Teams) & Individual Vehicles.....Giving the US access to Predator Drones would really be cool too (the timing is so close and it's a fictional war after all). 
There's still a huge amount of life in CM:SF2. 

Tanks tend to operate rather poorly without a crew.

If it was a direct hit, that probably should not have happened.....It's more or less the same as taking a direct hit from a destroyer!
If the shell impacted on the armour the Tiger the crew should be going benny-mental.....There are descriptions from crews of their tanks 'ringing like a bell' and of being able to see daylight through the weld-seams after ISU rounds exploded on their armour. 
Needless to say, the tanks broke and the crew didn't stay in them to find out exactly how long it would take for the welds to crack completely and for the turret roof to fall on their heads!

Nope, those are BMP-1Ps (with AT-4).....They aren't even in CM:A.
It's CM:SF with a shalwar kameez on.

The SU-122 was an assault gun akin to the StuH.42, not a tank hunter.....The tank hunters of the T-34 family were the SU-85 and later the SU-100 (& SU-85M).
