That should be the old printed manual. I don't even think that is a current option anymore i.e. any manual on there would be an old non updated version. The problem with manuals and pricing is it is determined by the size of the print run. It just is simply not cost effective anymore to do a printed manual and it is likely out of date almost immediately with the next patch etc. Be nice for them to have a separate entry just for the manuals. They could then keep an archive of older manuals for people still on say 3.0.

one section that probably should be added is scale changes relative to CMx1 - 8m tiles versus 20m, but then there probably needs to be a whole wiki on CMx2 engine and tactics.

Personally I think Steve should stop posting release dates because he always gets them wrong and is then creating the situation for folks looking for an update on information he provided. What might be better if he just pinned a thread that allowed no responses and he put target dates in that thread and then updated them when he knew they weren't realistic and he should be vague - CMSF2 early fall 2018 for example

No. The British have some vehicles that have IED countermeasures but you’ll never know if they actually did their job or not unless one goes off. Reading Strykers in Sadr city the book starts with a high value target mission. Bull company is assigned and speed is essential to get in, take down the target and get out. When they find their planned route blocked they end up diverting and having to take what is considered a black route, a road known to be laced with IEDs. It is a terrifying moment and choice but they have no time and their only hope is to get past before anyone is in position to trigger them. The decision is made while on the move racing through the city looking for an open route to their destination. I.e. it is made on the fly in a matter of minutes. This is in 2008 so in the same time frame as CMSF was designed around. I have read it more than once and still pucker up at the thought of having to do what those men did. Casual bravery that is humbling.

Keep in mind the briefing is premised on playing the AI. Against a human I would toss the briefing other than noting your objectives. Your experience is already much different than mine playing the AI.

That would be something for the user community. For BF there is a limit to the quantity they will do for stock scenarios and that has to cater to a large audience appeal. Looking at most user created content it does not seem most folks want typical.

It can”t. The 100 files are the core of the game. Something is not right, either the later patches ets were installed to a different directory etc. far too much of the game is in those files. You would have missing items all over the place.

Ohh man wouldn’t that be a scenario to piss people off. The briefing tells you a platoon of tigers is expected in 15 minutes. At the 20 minute mark you get a reinforcement notice that the tigers are bogged and all that shows up is a kubelwagen messenger. LOL
