    I'd forgotten just how devilish "Major Nosovs Brigade" was until I quickly playtested the "Garden Valley" conversion... geez that scenario can go south pretty quickly!




    "Major Nguyens Command" will (obviously) have many differences with the original but it should be unique fare for the majority of CMSF2 players.

    I have enjoyed making this scenario.
    Both my dogs and my cat watched as I played it and none of them had any constructive criticism. I need some humans to play it and give me feedback before I upload it to the suppository.

    So, Im working on my first CSMF scenario ever (slow and painful so far...) and it will be british light infantry against insurgents in Helmand. Ghorak is the village that gaved me the idea but I havent bothered doing the whole Ghorak, just a small portion with allot of "artistic license".

    As this is the first time doing terrain I want some feedback/input on it. I would appreciate if anyone with experience could download and check out the terrain and tell me what you like and what must be changed.

    this is the current state of Ghorak, I havent started adding any flavor objects yet, I will do that when I feel the terrain is 100% done.

    But my plan so far is 3 platoons with engineer support (bunch of walls to breach thrue) and a fire support group in TUM WMIKs. Enemy will be insurgents with IEDs and there will be preserve status on some of the buildings but plenty of air assets.

    Other things will also be wrong. Like flavor objects and fences.
    I found it most practical to, for example, take a photo with an iPad from the map as shown in CMBN and to keep that displayed as a quick reference for the buildings. Also to run CMSF2 and CMBN editors simultaneously, then task-switch to crosscheck things.

    ... it was excellent, real good fun.
    I know the scenario was meant to be set in May & to showcase @despot993's interesting Wagner mod however I wanted to start the Autumn modpack as well as try out @boygarvin's new VDV update... and the conditions of the scenario were suitable for Autumn.

    This is a historical / semi-historical battle series nearly three years in the making that includes 6 scenarios aiming to reproduce some of the events that took place along the Gothic Line in the Serchio valley, northern Apennines, on 26 and 27 December 1944, known as Battle of Garfagnana and referred to by the Germans as Unternehmen Wintergewitter, Operation Winter Storm.

    All modules needed.

    This is not a campaign in the true sense. You will proceed to the next battle regardless of your performance, but your core force will still suffer losses as it progresses through the operation.

    The six battles in order of appearance are:

    IMPORTANT NOTE:

    A huge thank you to @kohlenklau and @boygarvin. This battle series MUST be used in conjunction with their mods “Partizani-Buffalo-Alpini” (tagged), included in the zipped file.

    The three mods used together change German Panzergrenadiers to Alpini, French free troops to Italian Partisans and regular US white-only troops to segregated black troops (the Buffalo Soldiers). If you don’t use them you will have French soldiers standing in for Italian partisans, and that’s a huge no-no in my world!

    One of my ongoing side projects (aimed, mostly, at the new influx of Steam Players) is to host an 'All in One' for every CM game here.
    This is my initial effort for RT & its primary feature is a large collection of weathered vehicle mods (by @kohlenklau, @umlaut  & @Aristoteles ) renamed & tagged so that they now work with F&R. It also features terrain mods by @SeinfeldRules, UI mods by @rocketman, @Marco Bergman & @Volksgrenadier, Infantry mods by @EZ, @Tashtego & @Ithikial_AU, loading screens by @umlaut, building mods by @Kieme(ITA) & @Tanks a Lot as well as the ME effects package, ME soundscape & (subdued & fixed) superpack voices by @ironsturm plus many more others.
    I know a lot of people had issues with their old RT mods & the new Fire & Rubble module so hopefully this modpack will be of some interest to them.

    I only recently updated to 5.1 and was unaware that there's already a new update.
    Subscribers to my channel will be aware that I use reshade a lot, post my own reshade profiles & that my tastes have changed over time.
    These days I tend to use a combination of Pirate-Bloom & HDR to help brighten the game up. I also have a few unique & interesting reshade profiles like 'Nightvision' (which relies on Arcane Bloom) & 'Desert' (which comes with a heathaze effect).

    Our forces are counterattacking. Having detrained merely days ago, your Regiment has been pushing around the flank of the Soviets, looking for an opportunity to halt the Russian juggernaut. The panzergrenadier company you command has been tasked with securing the flank of our regiment's counterattack by taking a town overlooking an important road highway. Located to the NW on the reverse slope of a ridge line, your force is poised to take the town and the woods overlooking the road.
    This scenario needs testing! I will be uploading it to the Proving Grounds... but please give me feedback on the length of time required and the difficulty. It got very basic testing.
    Also, for those who like my scenarios... keep an eye out from some CMBS ones! Coming soon...

    Thank you for the feedback combatintman and grungar! I'm happy everyone has liked them so far. I'll definitely look into some of the ASL stuff, do they have scenario "stories" like CM, or is it more of a freeform scenario, kind of like a Quick Battle?
     
    fry30, I've never thought about it that way, but it's very true! I feel there are lots of these little "episodes" in war, you just have to read between the lines when books and such talk about macro level events. Not everything has to be a titanic clash, even the "quiet" periods were full of patrolling and small unit actions.

    The frontline in the war for Ukraine has stabilized. As the two sides rebuild, combat patrols cause trouble on both sides. In a NATO salient in the Russian lines, enemy forces have been continually cutting the Main Supply Route with platoon and company sized elements. For the past several weeks, your air assault infantry company has been tasked with clearing these roadblocks, using your high mobility to quickly reach trouble areas. This morning, infantry with several BMPs in support infiltrated through the gaps in our lines and occupied the village of Myrne, which sits astride the MSR. Your company was assembled and flown into an area north of the village. Take your force and clear Myrne of the enemy. BLUFOR vs AI only.

    The war everyone feared has finally come. Russian tank units are flooding into Ukraine, and the combined UKR and NATO forces in Europe are not enough to stop them. The best NATO generals can do is stem the tide until armored divisions from the US can arrive on the continent. The XVIII Airborne Corps is dropped all over Ukraine in a desperate attempt to stop the Russians wherever they can. Your division, the 82nd Airborne, is dropped near Kherson to help defend the southern route to Odessa. Your battalion's objective is a large grain elevator, a veritable mountain in the flat sea of steppe, able to observe critical avenues of approach for miles. The infantry company you command has its DZs closest to this objective and as you exit the plane into the cold night sky, the angry tracers racing up at you from the buildings surrounding the grain elevator reveals the enemy has gotten there first...     Hello all,
    With the success of my CMRT and CMFI scenarios, I've decided to branch out into CMBS and create some content for this game as well. I only have one scenario right now, but have 2-3 more not far from completion. As always, these are not playtested to death and I don't guarantee perfection - I believe in the 75% solution now as opposed to the 99% solution weeks from now!  Please give me feedback - I am always tweaking in order to produce a better experience for everyone! All my maps are "hand made" originals. They look best with my terrain mod in my opinion!

    The invasion of Ukraine has kicked off, and our tanks are rolling across the countryside. The American and Ukrainian forces were not enough to stop the Russian advance, and have been scattered into many individual groups, all seeking to delay us in whatever way they can. As the commander of your Russian Brigade Tactical Group's lead reconnaissance element, you are responsible for locating these NATO forces and either bypassing or destroying them.
    As your brigade pushes to Kiev, your patrol's lead vehicle is stopped by sympathetic locals, just east of a large orchard. They hurriedly explain that an American platoon with a tracked vehicle in support have established a position overlooking your brigade's main avenue of advance. The only way the main body can continue down this road unhindered is for you to dig the Americans out of their delaying position, located just west of the orchard. REDFOR vs AI only.

    Just tried, can you reload ammo in the editor or is this a first turn thing the player has to do? I dont see the acquire command in the editor. 
    The wrinkle is this is something the AI has to do for itself. Might be that I just have to accept the ammo borging. Its a short engagement anyway, more important that OPFOR doesn't have RPGs than it can fight forever. 
    Edit, FO teams have one less man, but no RPGs. LMG+2FO teams would replace the 2 scout sections I was looking to use in terms of firepower, but no RPGs. Probably the solution. Thanks for the advice!

    Hello everyone!
    This script was created specifically for the Vagner PMC mod, authored by despot993
    For the entourage, the briefing is replete with jargon that the Russians could use during the battles. 
    For example, "Germans" (as Russian soldiers sometimes call the Ukrainian military), swineherds, korobochka (BMP), etc..
    The scenario itself is based on an attempt to storm the village of Dolhenkoye (Dlinenkoe in the game) described by one of the witnesses.
    Russian volunteers and Wagner's PMCs participated in the assault with the support of 2 BMP, tank and MTLB. During this battle, according to the source, two Russians and 10 Ukrainians were killed, and the task was not completed.

    Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) Mod - Update
    This is an update to the VDV mod. 
    What's been added?
    - Helmet textures with ribbons have been added.
    - The 6B45 vest has been added to a variety of the textures, as opposed to the 6B43 that was present in the original pack.
    - The original 6SH122 Ratnik masking suit has had the tabs/loops added to them. (A very minor addition, honestly. Simply a fix of an oversight.)
    - New ATACS/Moss masking suit textures have been added, as have been seen being worn by VDV reconnaissance troops.
    - New textures with a Multicam A18 plate carrier have been added, of which have also been seen being worn by VDV reconnaissance troops.
    That's about it, for now.
     
    To install, simply delete the previous VDV mod and insert this in it's place.

    The Syrian vehicles are almost entirely from @dpabrams old CMSF "Euroscape" mod & they're indeed very cool... I only had to make a few tweaks, rename a few bitmaps & fill a few missing gaps as part of the CMSF2 upgrade process.
    The only current version of H&E is "The People's Beta" (aka H&E version 0.97).
    The next version is still WIP but has been delayed by my various "side projects" & the current war in Ukraine.
    @Requin87 recently made a video explaining how to use mods for Steam CM's (snowscape mods in this case but the principals are the same for H&E)...
