I've always wanted to see assault boats so we could play the 82nds crossing of the Waal at Nijmegen.

IIRC CMSF supposes a united non-Assad led Syria, which is a "perfect-storm" political situation created only to allow a game where the Syrian Army can put up the best fight possible against the NATO invasion. Everyone now knows of course Syria is and was far from united. I don't know enough about Syrian politics and don't want to turn this thread into a discussion of such but I wonder if a united Syria was at all possible in the scenario presented where it is Syria that provokes the West with some dirty bombs.

This is totally supposition but I now suspect number of posts doesn't necessarily reflect total sales as I would bet Black Sea outsold Red Thunder. This is probably being due to East Front fans being the Grogiest and most prolific posters.

Hmm, that license plate is suspicious. Could this be a German anti-tank unit in disguise?

Sequoia got a reaction from J Bennett in Things in ASL that aren’t in CMx2
One thing I always wanted to ask. ASL had smoke grenades.  CMX1 had no smoke grenades. The manuals for those games said this was due to no evidence of smoke grenades being used in combat other than as markers for friendly aircraft etc. Obviously this has changed in CMX2. Was this based on new evidence or simply added because Shock Force had smoke grenades and the beta testers lobbied for their inclusion in WWII games?

If they followed your suggestion no one could post a question like mine and others which are on topic, or do you think allowing the people to hijack threads is okay?

I am of the understanding the Quebecois were segregated into their own regiments. I did make a custom mixed mod for Kohlenklau for the Bloody Christmas Campaign. I can post that in Green as Jades Fortress Italy section if anyone is interested.

I would say that Battlefront making wise business decisions is the best way in the long term for every game family to get the most content in the long run. I think their longevity shows that they have been doing so and some one understanding that does not make them a fanboy. My comment about the forgotten child is mostly in response to posts in the Red Thunder forum that Red Thunder has been forgotten with Black Sea out and work being done on the Bulge. Red Thunder hasn't been out a year yet and it's been a couple years since new Fortress Italy content. I too think there will be new content for Italy but I don't see it happening soon and I'm lobbying for a quick (I know there's probably no such thing) means of somehow introducing flame weapons that 3.0, which is available for FI, provides.

I seem to remember Steve saying they were planning on doing a Bulge Commonwealth module and a late war module taking us to the end of the war including the possibility of some designs that never saw combat e.g. the Maus. Personally I don't think they Maus would ever have gone into production even if the prototypes were completed in time. Maybe the Panther II( I think it was called) would have been more likely.

    No offense was taken.

At one time Steve mentioned the posibility of doing mini-packs. Would anyone else besides me pay $5 for flamethrowers and the Flammpanzer III?

PS and maybe throw in the extra fortifications that the CMBN Vehicle Pack had.

Sequoia got a reaction from BletchleyGeek in Combat Mission WW2 - The Road Ahead
As I understand things now, there are "generally" two Battlefront teams now. I say generally as there is a lot of overlap and movement between the teams but for example one team worked on the Bulge and the Vehicle Pack for CMBN  after Red Thunder while another worked on Black Sea. With Black Sea done for now (except for another bigger patch) it seems to me the low hanging fruit would be a module for Red Thunder with Lend-lease vehicles and SS and Luftwaffe Field formations (all already done) of which there were a lot of in AGC. Maybe throw in some of the advanced snow terrain they have made for the Bulge and you're set. Anyway that's how I read the tea leaves. All conjecture, no inside info.
