Hi there, I had no idea there where so many campaigns, where are the user made ones you have listed, in the repository?

Thanks

Yes. Unfortunately not all campaigns are identified as campaigns by the uploaders.

Never heard of these before, how would you rate them?

  • A Bridge Too Close-Base Game US Airborne
  • The Outlaws- Base game US Airborne
  • In the Fields Where the Poppies Grow-Base Game US

Of these I've only played The Outlaws. It has great maps and a good story line to follow. Sadly it does fall away in the last couple of missions when the fictional Panzer IVs and even a Panther appear. It seems a shame to me that designers ignore the fact that none of these tanks were available to the Wehrmacht on the Cotentin Peninsula in June 44.

Regarding, Blue and Grey campaign.

Referencing thread at URL = http://community.battlefront.com/topic/117164-blue-and-grey/?hl=%2Bblue+%2Bgrey

Have those who've played it found the beach landing mission out of balance because of the v3.0 improvements to MG42's?  Any other thoughts about this campaign?

The beach landing is a horrible mission, but it's winnable with the new MG stats.

I think there are actually two beach landings, I only managed to win one of them).

I never really bothered with the rest of the campaign though, I found the maps to be low quality.

There is also The Road to Montebourg *Redux* at the Repository.

And it's worth playing, even if you already completed that campaign with the standard version. It's quite a bit more challenging, since most of your troops now have green status, and the last mission has some nasty surprises too. Haven't managed to win it.

Jesus Christ, yes!  At least the first, the second landing mission is rough, but winnable. As for other thoughts, the way he tried to make MGs relevant was by pumping up their experience to elite levels. It makes many of the missions unplayable because you are missing the necessary tools from a combined arms perspective to deal with well-positioned, highly skilled machine guns when the previous AI and gameplay trickery no longer works.

CM Civil War: "Sherman's March to the Sea" <...but wait for the patch to fix fire for burning down Atlanta..>

CM Punic Wars: "Hannibal: Across the Alps" <I recommend Aris's elephant mod, the ears look very weathered>

CM Crimean War: "The Light Brigade" <haven't been able to make it through that one charge battle, doesn't seem well balanced...>

CM BATTLETECH!.... I don't care who's mods to use!...  make it so!

Lol, I just stumbled across this thread searching for some info on The Road to Montebourg "Redux" and I couldn't help but chime in.

I'm playing the Axis version of Sie Kommen II. Very well put together, as most campaigns seem to be.  Not having had CMBN all that long I've played through Task Force Raff, Road to Montebourg, Kampfgruppe Engel, Devil's Descent and probably one or two more. But the third mission in Sie Kommen II (Axis) resulted in the most casualties I've suffered so far in any campaign mission. A deceptively difficult mission, or maybe I just didn't play it so well. In the end I got a major victory, but for a few good bounces it could have gone either way. This campaign has smaller maps than most (to this point), resulting in less maneuver and more fire.
