    Jaaammmm!
Perhaps our HMRC remembered they should get busy reminding folks to charge VAT.
Incidentally, I tried logging in to the store whilst using a VPN with an EU IP, didn’t seem to make any difference. Might try again but clear caches and cookies, see if that makes any difference. Otherwise may have to try something more stealthy

$95 (for CMFI, GL and RV)
    Hang on!
Update: Just checked the price in the store and it's now $114 (reduced from $156).
Don't tell me I purchased it just in time! 😲
Bought it on Monday. While that's a good thing, it's slightly annoying as I'd have got everything I don't have had I realised it was about to attract tax.

Not sure it’s related to that particular f**k up. Although I did purchase CMFB in November 2020 ie before the final exit, and was not charged sales tax/VAT/money-for-old-rope*.
However, I am pretty sure that, and this applied pre-Brexit, any digital purchases made in any EU country FROM any country outside of EU was supposed to attract VAT at the applicable rate based on the purchasers local VAT rate. Thus 20% VAT on purchases from US by UK buyer. The VAT is that same rate one would pay on a physical product purchased from US and shipped to UK (with value over a certain threshold). iirc This was introduced to make a more level playing field between physical and digital product purchases, physical purchases over a certain value always attract VAT (if the Customs people spot the item).
Now, we in the UK may have to pay VAT on BF digital products going forward because, and again please don’t quote me, but iirc BF had an Irish distributor (gateway to EU) so no EU VAT attracted on purchases pre-Brexit, post-Ballsup we, UK, don’t benefit from this (though maybe they do in NI, but that’s another huh hum issue). So our loverly HMRC will do what it wants regarding imports and VAT (sovereignty is a wonderful thing).
    Confused yet?
Of course if we (UK) have a trade deal with the US this could all change, but at the moment I think we are on WTO rules, so who knows?!!

The British Gammon Bomb was. They carried the ingredients and made their grenades on the fly. From AT grenades to Satchel charges. Having people from mining communities in your forces pays dividends.

So many rear shots from bazookas at pretty much point blank range that I start to run out of bazooka rounds. One team who are completely out run off to the truck for more (and get blown up by the Tiger on the way).
Then someone gets it with a grenade.

I realise it was probably more complicated than that inside the tank but the AI can't tell anecdotes. 🧐

Play against me. Your pixeltruppen will toss grenades about like they're going out of fashion while my guys try too remember where they keep them.
Seriously, the AI has got it in for me with grenades. As soon as I get in grenade range all that happens is I get pasted with them. Defenders seem keener than attackers which actually seems a bit counterintuitive to me.
I also have a sneaking suspicion the Germans are keener to chuck them than most.

When combining a "three action-square" unit, it's always best to reduce them to the smallest elements and run them together into a single square.
If you combine a one-square element with a two square element, you risk choosing the wrong square, so to speak.
Think of it as the leader getting everyone in close for a pep talk.

The rate of fire make a big difference.
The MG42 is fed by a metal link belt at a cyclic rate of fire of 700–1,300 rounds per minute. It is air-cooled and has a quick-change barrel.
The Bren was a gas-operated weapon firing at a rate of between 480 and 540 rounds per minute (rpm), depending on the model.
The MG42 has about twice the rate of the Bren.  The cone of fire increases as range increases.  That means that the MG42 can put almost twice as many bullets in that cone as can the Bren.  The MG42 has a much higher likelihood of hitting something.

It's one of those scenarios where you have to be very lucky or do everything exactly right (as defined by what the designer thinks is correct) with no errors.

Just played a game where I had to exit my guys. They were all off with 10 minutes to spare.
But instead of hitting ceasefire, I let the clock run.
Obviously there were Germans all over the map but with no-one to spot them, I couldn't see what they were up to.
So I was a bit surprised to hear grenades going off. Is that what they get up to if no-one's looking?
Slightly disappointing end to the story is that when I reviewed the map at game end, turns out one of the vehicles had wandered into a minefield along with supporting infantry. I was probably hearing that.
Mind you, I did get victory points for it. Which isn't bad after you've actually left the field. 🧐

Not that I'm a polder grog, but I'd been surprised if there weren't any polders around the area with the Maas, Waal & Rijn.
A quick google learned me that they've been poldering around Gelderland and Brabant for quite a while. Some polders in Brabant:

A polder just means a piece of land with it's own watermanagement, or something like that (the watermanagement makes the polder useful for humans). But Wikipedia does a better job:

I don't wish to be too pedantic but with street names like "Polderweg" and "Rosandepolder" on the north bank of the river near the Driel Ferry crossing, I think it would be fair to say that Gelderland has polders.
