  1. Lovely. But it would be nice if they told us where those "fascinating" things are located.
  2. So... this is a "replacement mod" to use when playing an Omaha beach scenario? Was thinking maybe the bmp's should be tagged/renamed, so players don't have to move and remove the mods every time.
  3. Helmets are definitely a separate graphic in the WW2 games (I have dozens of WW2 helmet mods), so need to try it in CMBS.
  4. This was a movie?!! And it's now an online game!!!!! Good grief...
  5. Goof footage, but as previously noted it looks like training. Was wondering if there is any video or even data re how or even where Wasps and other flamers were used for real.
  6. For CMBN my folder is: Battlefront/CMBN GAME/Game Files/(Scenarios) etc. For the other CM2 titles it is: Admin/My Documents/Battlefront/Combat Mission etc.
  7. Ok. So, expanding that is what could be requested.
  8. As I posted elsewhere, it would be interested to find out if it would be practicable for BF to include the "models" for other nationalities' vehicles, weapons systems and uniforms etc but leave the actual theatre creation to modders. If CMFI included such models for North Africa theatre, then modders would be able to create a more convincing Afrika Korps mod than currently available - in the same way that CMSF has been completely modded to create a credible-looking European theatre.
  9. If another nationality has similar "helmets+goggles+back packs" then could one not rename the Russian equipment to the other nation's bmp name? (I thought this sort of thing was all about naming conventions.)
  10. Is there a limitation on how small the preserve objective area is? ie: Could each small building and/or parts of a large building have individual "Preserve" objectives.
  11. Me 2. Used to be enamored of miniatures for the same reason. However, since CM came out in 1988, I have saved literally thousands of dollars not buying any more cardboard wargames, miniatures, (or computer games).
  12. Given that the CM2 game is so amenable to modding that should not discourage BF from including additional nations vehicles and weapons systems. Modders have done a wonderful job converting CMSF from Syria to Europe. Efforts have been made to convert CMFI to depict North Africa. In both cases the new terrain is convincing but in the NA mod, there are very few appropriate vehicles. The problem is that the vehicles are limited to the models that already exist in the unmodded game. When BF releases a new game or module, if BF could include merely the models for weapons systems that exist only in other theatres, modders could then develop the appropriate terrain AND populate it with the proper vehicles with the proper paint jobs. Eg: It would not require that many new vehicle models to enable modders to make a credible Afrika Korps version of CMFI. (Have no idea how much work that would require of BF, but am just suggesting...)
  13. Thanks for the clarification. Posters keep saying "unload all" (see picture above) which is very confusing.
  14. This is true. But in RL, would not a force end up doing much undesired destruction if the defense was really tough? Also, is it possible to assign so many points to a destroyed building that it wipes out the points gain for killing enemy. If that is possible, this is "simply" an issue of the designer doing a better job figuring out the victory points allocations.
  15. IIRC the mortar can be dismounted. It is a passenger. So, you have to select the weapon not the vehicle. Am assuming that since it takes time to reset the mortar the vehicle cannot move and the mortar fire in the same turn(??)
  16. We're talking like it was obvious that Hitler was not quite the gentleman he pretended to be and that it was obvious to everyone. We have to remember that Hitler and the Nazis had significant support in the US and UK (or Great Britain as it was called when I grew up). The royal family and many aristocrats were sympathizers (most of Europe's royal houses had very recently been destroyed) as well as US wealthy at a time when they were all terrified of USSR Bolshie type revolution sweeping across Europe and infecting the US. It was not at all clear the vast majority of people that Hitler was indeed not on the right track at that time. To many the Nazi philosophy was the coming tide that would sweep the world. Obviously with benefit of hindsight we now know better. 2020 vision is always better after the event.
  17. Ok thanks. (So, do NOT leave the dedicated crew in place - dismount em.)
  18. Doesn't the "OCCUPY/HOLD" victory condition do that - accompanied with 'PRESERVE STRUCTURE" penalty/points? Can a defender get points for preserving structure, or that only penalizes the attacker if he destroys it?
  19. So to ensure the CO is in the "command seat" does one have to BAIL OUT everyone first? And then what order to embark?
  20. Makes a big difference. At the start of a CM2 game I would never bombard a sound contact on the assumption that it would be so approximate that it could waste a lot of ammo (as it would do in CM1). Now it's worth it.
  21. Bloody hell. I have been playing CM2 for 10+ years and I always thought it was an approximation! NB: In CM1 a sound contact is definitely only a very vague approximation and not useful to shoot at. But in CM2, lighting up vs sound contacts in CM2 is accurate fire?
