  1. I still have the 8mm version in carrying bag and handle etc. Imagine it's museum piece now. Moving house, so will be offline for at least a few days. Good luck all!
  2. Not a clue... I have no problem running CM1 on Win 7 or Win 10, so never needed the hack. Will be moving house and traveling without internet for a few days now. Good luck!
  3. the little hack that BF suggests to people using Win10? - open Combat Mission - ctrl + alt + del: Activity Manager - go to Details tab - find the CM.exe file and right click on it - click on Set affinity and uncheck all CPUs - check one CPU only (doesn't matter which) - go back to CM and open your PBEM file. This improves navigation in CM considerably.

  5. This is a "new install on a new computer..." I installed CMSF2 (hopefully) ok yesterday. For the others... so I should start with any order that says "v4.0 Upgrade"? I copied the activation codes to a doc already. Are there separate act. codes for v4 and v3? Or, does the one code given when product originally purchased work on both? BTW: Is there an easy way to see what each purchase actually represents? I find myself spending much time just clicking on Order Links trying to find a particular product I bought. It would be really helpful to have each order named re what the game title is. Thnx...
  6. Just want to make sure I do this correctly. Where to locate the full installers, and what codes do I need? thnx
  7. Oh yes, it is MUCH more easy to keep men alive in CMSF2 lol. If a CMSF2 scenario is done right, one can barely afford any friendly casualties at all.
  8. MOS is singlehandedly coming up with some amazing ideas that are redefining/refreshing the typical CM2 scenario and what can be accomplished with the editor. Amazing stuff.
  9. "...if the rebels make a rebel broadcast from WTF Radio station while the political prisoners are still in Fisbuk Prison the regime executes the prisoners. Also there are now two different ways to have a police unit join the rebellion. Then at 0600hrs a USMC task force shows up off the coast....." Sounds like very good ideas. When I tested it felt to me that there was an optimal/obvious series of actions/objectives that should be accomplished in a predictable order - ie "forced decisions" that were not a dilemma for the player - and that limited replay potential. (After playing 3 or 4 times, I found myself doing the same things over and over again.) Now that making the broadcast asap is no longer an obvious "no brainer" that should create additional difficult decisions for the player. The USMC TF is also a good idea, as before, there seemed no point in continuing after 6pm.
  10. Interesting as soldier on the right appears to be carrying what could be an early Bolex 16mm camera. (I recall that was one of the first I was trained on as they were still in use in the 70's.)
  11. You could also try here: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/webandofbrothers/
  12. If no one has it for you, it will be on CMMODS IV when Bootie has time to load up the 300+ GB of mods sent to him.
  13. I have Win 10 64 bit, so should not be an issue. Not sure there is anything new in v1.04 other than it was downloadable and had the latest security so people could not hack it to get it to run without the disk in the computer. If there is something new re content or technology, let us know...
  14. Yes, I have v1.03 running on Win 10, so it should work. The only issue is that the resolution options were for old 3x4 screen monitors. With the new widescreen monitors one will get a stretched image.
  15. One of the early criticisms of CMA from experienced CM players was that the stock CMA missions seemed almost impossible for the Russians. We weren't sure if that was cos of poor understanding of how to use Russian units, or if it was an attempt to show the overall Russian mission in Afghanistan was impossible. (User made scenarios and campaigns were much better/more fun.)
  16. Thanks for the video. Interesting to see RL behaviour under fire.
  17. Once FFE has started one can move the FO to anyplace one wants even out of LOS of the target. That way one can order an ADJUST to a new location (which is a faster method than starting the targeting process from the start). Once FFE has started even if your FO is KIA, the fire will continue.
  18. The other thing to keep in mind is that weapons in CM2 rarely are able to penetrate thru 2 walls. So, an enemy in an interior room (ie: no walls are exterior walls) will be very protected from fire coming from (say) outside. IIRC it's not until the exterior wall is destroyed that one can fire with effect through the first room onto the enemy located in the interior room. One would think that 50 cal and above would be able to fire thru several walls with effect. But, that is not the case. Hence a unit in an interior wall is in an xnt ambush position. One can put much suppression fire thru one wall, then attack thru that wall/door, and get massacred by enemy located behind the 2nd wall.
  19. You mean just about everyone dies? Well... it is an antiwar movie. But, some great shots of the Mi24 - looks like something out of a sci fi movie.
  20. Yeah... That's definitely the norm unfortunately. However, a few shows manage to be brilliant over many seasons. While not "fantasy" the Brit detective series "Endeavor" which is a prequel series to an older show called "Morse" has maintained its brilliance thru 6 seasons (5 are available on Amazon Prime), the 6th I started to watch when I was in the UK a couple weeks ago. The original "Inspector Morse" series which is still worth watching ran from 1987 to 2000 - 12 seasons(!)
  21. That would be interesting as this is one of the best detailed MG models I recall seeing.
  22. Careful... he may have been playing his sigother...
