  1. +1 to the thread, but posting more to say that I love Wego McPbem as a forum moniker. Welcome to the forum.
  2. There is a story told by a German tanker in one of the Stackpole books, that a British mortar team was in the corner of a field, 30 yards from their positions, giving them hell for some time before they figured out where the Tommies were and put a stop to it.
  3. You can recrew a vehicle (with the original crew) but not a gun.
  4. For every view, a monkey dies. Please think of the monkeys.
  5. Have played the vast majority of CM battles pbem through the years, but on the rare fights against the ai, FTC rules was the only way I ever played, as it actually made it somewhat challenging. The best would be clicking to a squad that had routed somewhere random with limited los and trying to figure out where the hell to go when they recovered to the point that they would take orders. Was usually a hoot and pretty immersive. Really enjoyed it and plan to again in BN.
  6. Not posting updates here = hard at it. So, maybe today, maybe not, but I'd rather not see Steve or Moon wasting time in this thread. More work, less typing!!
  7. Just for all you Dell bashers, I have bought nothing else for my business and myself for the last 12 years and in all that time, I had one monitor with a problem, which they replaced the next day.
  8. They might be able to afford a 9 millisecond subliminal ad. BuyCombatMission:BattleforNormandyyouknowreallyyouwantit!
  9. Please do. The biggest difference in modern vs WWII is that with SF, practically anything that is in LOS can be killed in seconds. The lack of lethality and corresponding length of time in BN armor duels will be a nice change from the laser accuracy and instakills in SF, but sometimes it's nice to play with the incredible power of today's weapons. It's a great challenge to complete your objective without the ability to press on through high casualties, due to a totally different political situation. One more thing, I suggest you get the hotkeys.txt mod to make the commands more what you're probably used to from BB and AK.
  10. Same here. A year ago I might have said differently, but as much as I prefer WWII to modern combat, with all the modules SF is just too good to retire.
  11. One thing to remember was that in CMx1, if you had any different experience ratings in a line of vehicles, they would have different command delays and screw up your column. That really shouldn't cause problems to much extent now.
  12. So, you think a typical German rifleman can jack that bolt and fire an aimed shot just as quickly as an American rifleman who just has to pull the trigger can? I think not... Unaimed suppressive fire was a common activity for riflemen, and quite useful for allowing other friendly forces to move.
  13. The American Army existed simply to escort FO's along the path to victory.
  14. EA games has most certainly not cleaned up their act. Despite their promise not to use SecuRom in one of their latest releases, its in there, with no documentation of it, no notice to the game buyer, and it remains after game uninstall. I despise EA.
  15. Unfortunately, that society doesn't exist.
  16. Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed sheep contesting the vote.
  17. May you be richly blessed for paying it forward, finalcut.
