  1. Can the Printer Friendly online version but adapted to the Kindle which I'm new to.
  2. This puzzles me since you'd think the CM series and BF Opponent forum would actually offer the more dedicated player..it certainly did with Barbarossa but I did notice the forum was slowing down when BF went to the SF series, seems the new warriors weren't interested in the depth of the original CM series with PBEM games lasting months not hours, Lets hope that trend reverses with BN 1.11. I'll start looking at the club route, thanks.
  3. It seems to be the most challenging way to play but I was dismayed at seeing almost zero posts in the Opponate Finder forum...how are players finding challengers today? http://www.battlefront.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=74
  4. Is the CM PBEM all but dead here? I remember the epic PBEM games posted on BF.
  5. PPL your age??? Too bad..it's unquestionably the most challenging way to play this type of war sim and it's the main reason busy (working people) can fit a serious "game" into their lives. CMx1 had games that lasted months because of the extreme challenge of an opponent who thought out every move so completely especially as the game developed, you had to be very patient when your turn came to counter him..it became quite complicated and you needed that PBEM time. Your really missing out..I dare you to challenge someone at your level to a match and then post your thoughts at the end of the match!
  6. I was happy to see http://grognard.com/recom.html#computer still posting since the 90's important wargaming links..BF listed in the Computer Games category but also some great links to wargaming stuff in general. Hopefully some of the old CM sites will find new life. If it ever could be on the Mil channel..put it with 'Commanders at War'.
  7. BF will need to use Twitter, FB,YT and other social means to promote CM:BFN, to find those *thinking Chess type players out there. Hey, maybe a small teaser BFN app? Times have changed but thankfully CM WWII didn't.. except get deeper.
  8. You also need to know the mentality of todays gamers for the most part..they have *never played a simulation anything like this, they come from the *shooter game world with massive graphics and graphic cards or xbox360 types, zero substance but lot's a smoke unlike this: http://youtu.be/oT1WeuNthW0
  9. I don't see CM:BFN fitting the usual *gamer sites, not like the old days. What are the options for a game of this ilk to get the word to real wargamers, will it be via FB,twitter? I've watched many simulations on the military channel that looked very much like today's CM v.2 and thought it would be the perfect place to advertise the new simulation but then I'm not spending the Ad$. ahh..to read those great AARs again and maybe learn a few new tricks. __________________
  10. I'm sure there have been data updates but will owners of previous CM weapons data be transferable or apply to CMBN?
  11. I agree, what makes CM such a wonderful sim was it's PBEM feature which really turned a wargame into the ultimate chess match but especially.. could be played by very busy people at their leisure, it made for some supreme mistakes or conquests *always with major surprises when you received your turn!
  12. The CM (pre-SF) was and is their gold standard and nobody has ever deigned this you'd assume updating the WWII version must be in their future..when I have no clue? I will say this though..shame on them if they continue let BB and AK languish without a new version and regard that series as a 'been there done that' thing..one of the richest, most rewarding game series of the whole friggen genre has been abandoned and quite frankly SF is not what brought people to the BF party. I personally will not purchase the *new SF Marines, my next purchase from BF will only deal with the WWII era CM with stats based around the BB and AK series..they might actually and almost sturdily will get some positive game reviews again and sell nice numbers of it with lot's of happy campers returning to CM and forums rich with real war talk..the good ol'days need to return or BF CM will slide away from the WWII enthusiast..I'm sure this has been discussed adnosium. Can anyone give us some *inside on this issue or a thread link. .
  13. Hopefully CMMODS will be up soon and I'm looking forward to BF providing space for the hard work being done for the game..all of the best battles in CMBB were created by the players which only increased more interest in the CM series...the CM pre SF was/is the gold standard which many of the better game companies always wished they could dup..reading CM forum archives proves this in spades. I only hope BF includes all the great mods and scenarios for the still extremely popular CMBB and CMAK series which I suspect will get an update eventually..who doesn't like that era especially all the richness BF put into it only now with updated graphics...yes! :=) thanks
  14. I tried the Scenario Depot and CMMODS today and both links are dead, I'd like to try Paper Tigers great work but I can't find a link. CM had the most loyal following that I know of in the genre but alas the times they are a changing..BF hopefully realizes how vital survival is linked to the *after purchase support of the loyal fans who take time and money to create for the game...where are the Scenarios and Mods..have I totally overlooked and missed them?
  15. Thanks for you offer Mark..expect a email when I'm ready--still struggling with part of SF but I'm getting there.
