Right enough , the front page on the 20th April (Mac announcement) does say "Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy is scheduled for release within the next 14-21 days."

IIRC BF suggested both PC and MAC version would be available at the same time. That would make it 4th of May @ the earliest ...... may the forth be with you :D

I guess we can hope that was MAC only but i don't think that's the case from memory.

Ref, can we get a ruling?

The "regular" PC release still mentions the "end of April" as the target date (rather than the start of May). The first two weeks of May seem covered by the Mac release notes. Free time must be allotted, vacations planned, births put off, sleep schedules plotted, monkeys must be refreshed, Mac OS Lions must be tamed, etc, etc.

Then again, I've always liked surprises so today works nicely as well.

Stick to the End of April Please! There have been enough delays in releasing this game. Its been almost 4 years since release of CMSF. Shouldn't we already have about 8 modules, if going by the 6month moldule program initially announced? Yet we have CMSF with 3 modules and a 4th released by 3rd party. Just release the game already!!!! There are gonna be patches to it whether you release it today or 6 months from now.

A question related to releases that I don't think has come up yet: What's the "best" day of the week for BFC to release it?

Since this game is not purchased in stores, I assume any day is as good as any other from a marketing scheme. But to please this audience, I assume they'll put it out on a Friday so that we can all spend the weekend glued to our monitors. Otherwise, the national ecenomies of several nations might take a huge dive in productivity for up to a week if it was released, say, on a Monday. :D

So my guess is April 29 or May 6. Please, please, please be April 29!

If the estimate given in the frontpage on 20 April was "within the next 14-21 days", that would suggest May 4th to 11th.

Are you sure? I *think* the web page said 7-21 days when I ordered mine and it seems they changed the estimate to something more realistic afterwards, but I might be mistaken.

Anything less than 21 days will surprise me, though.

It cant be May 6th. Its a WW2 anniversary release date!

May I ask what WWII anniversary? A brief search on the net gives me these possible anniversaries for May 6th:

May 6th, 1940:Hitler again delays X-Day, this time till the 10th May.

May 6th, 1941: Stalin declares himself 'Chairman of the Council of Peoples Commissars'.

May 6th, 1942: B-17's from Australia spot the Port Moresby Invasion Fleet south of Bougainville. They attack the Japanese Carrier Shoho but miss. Admiral Fletcher is now convinced that the main Japanese force would make for the Jomard Passage between Papua and the Louisiade Archipelago and so organises his forces for the coming battle.

May 6th, 1943: Hitler makes one of his increasingly rare visits to Berlin for Viktor Lutze's funeral.

May 6th, 1945: The last U-boats of the war sunk with all hands: U-853 and U-881 in the North Atlantic by US destroyer escorts, and U-3523 in the Baltic by the RAF.

Wasnt 6th of May when Germany offcially surrendered and war in Europe ended?

No. Germany surrendered both on 7th and 8th of May (Soviets decided that the General who signed the first instrument was not authorized to do so; some details were also changed). The latter is seen as the VE Day in the west; Russians celebrate their Victory Day on 9th of May.
