John Kettler
souldierz, How about Combat Mission: The Great Crusade as a title? Was good enough for Ike! http://www.kansasheritage.org/abilene/ikespeech.html Regards, John Kettler

Was good enough for Ike! http://www.kansasheritage.org/abilene/ikespeech.html Regards, John Kettler Except of course you only have what, half of the participants, represented here. Surely the guys on GOLD, SWORD and JUNO were on The Great Crusade too, after all Ike wasn't just addressing his comments to the US component. Vergeltungswaffe
Except of course you only have what, half of the participants, represented here. Surely the guys on GOLD, SWORD and JUNO were on The Great Crusade too, after all Ike wasn't just addressing his comments to the US component. Except that you will have all the participants with the modules to follow. Marines and British are still Shock Force, after all.
John Kettler
gibsonm, The addressees explicitly include the parties you named: "Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!" So, those left out will likely be the sailors, Eighth Air Force and Bomber Command, rather than the the British, Canadian and other Commonwealth troops on GOLD, SWORD and JUNO. Regards, John Kettler Exactly, he said "Allied Expeditionary Force" (which was "everybody"), he didn't say "Soldiers of the USA", which is all this module covers. Vergeltungswaffe's comment seems more accurate.
Kanonier Reichmann
Thankfully, the first version of CMX2 wasn't called Combat Mission Shock & Awe Force. Regards KR
John Kettler
gibsonm, My naming suggestion was fully informed by the knowledge that the new game would eventually cover more than merely the Americans in modules to come. Therefore, I think it is still a reasonable choice. Regards, John Kettler
Smaragdadler
... Combat Mission: Fall of the Reich ... Not for Normandy till Market Garden. That would be better for the next game autumn 44 - May 45 (Hürtgen Forest till end of ETO.)

Commonwealth troops may have had many uses to Ike in furthering his career, but voting Republican in a US Presidential election wasn't one of them. souldierz
Combat Mission Great Crusade has a little truth to it, but it sounds like a Medieval game and most people would think about middle east area and the Pope. Combat Mission Allied Expeditionary Force is not bad Combat Mission Beyond Overlord i think is good Maybe Combat Mission Brothers in Arms Combat Mission 1944 Combat Mission Allied Powers Combat Mission European Theatre or Front or another good old saying Combat Mission War to end all Wars I'm sure BFC will come up with something clever(I think:D).The ways to name these events are infinite, maybe we should get a contest going, just kidding:)
