On this map, I've put in blue Okeksandria which Ukraine definitely holds, then three villages in red that Ukraine says it withdrew from in the last day or two. Yellow is Bilozerka, where there is fighting (and where there was fighting reported 3-4 days ago I believe). And for reference, purple is the frequenly on fire Kherson airport. If all these reports are still accurate, some of the Russians along the T1501 road are in danger - there would be no way out of there without swimming. Note, once again, the if those reports are still accurate though. Makes one wonder if UKR retreated from those towns specifically to draw Russians farther into the trap. I hope so.
Commanderski
Russian servicemen, who have seen the military might of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are making “last will” calls to their families. "the Russian soldier tells his wife there are 10 men left from his unit, but the command doesn’t want to pull them out of Ukraine. He understands they will be simply "wiped out" and says: "We have two options: to return home either as KIAs or WIAs. That's it..."" https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-ato/3452090-russian-soldiers-convey-their-last-wills-to-families-intercepts.html

danfrodo
And another day draws to a close in the Ukraine time zone. And another day w/o the great Russian Donbas offensive. Lots of talk out in various media about Russia making some giant terrifying competent army. Instantly. Uh huh. All while under severe and increasing economic sanctions and tech boycotts. Uh huh. And folks think that Russia is going to attack Europe or Finland in the near term. Uh huh. Meanwhile, Finland under cyber attack and air probes -- and, weird coincidence, it's non-NATO. Almost as if there's a connection b/w level of Russian aggression and NATO membership. Maybe NATO drops Hungary and we see how the folks that voted for Urban like that.

It is also good plunder for the officers who have the connections to get them back to Russia. In USD those are $100k-$200k pieces of equipment. From a Russian standpoint this is all in a good day's work. Steve

That seems like way too big of an explosion for a tank. The only things I've seen blow that much are SPGs. This doesn't look like one, but maybe that is one next to it? My guess is this was an ammo tender for an SPG or rocket launcher. What ever it was, it certainly made an impression! Steve

So now we get down to some very nasty realities at the level of the soldiers. The one hope one might have is the end of enlistment period. And now that gone. Pay is behind (allegedly), constant danger, inadequate supplies, bad leaders, bad comrades, and now having their 'contracts' abrogated due to war that is not a war. So the mutinies will increase.
Haiduk
55 minutes ago, danfrodo said: And another day w/o the great Russian Donbas offensive. Our military experts expect this offensive throughout a week +/- Russians hastly move to Ukraine new reinforcement from Far East - about 10 BTGs of 5th CAA, Eastern Military District. They should be the second echelone for development of success. But they are still in the way. All what Russians do now in Izium area and in the area near Velyki Novosilky and Huliaypole on the south is just building up efforts, but not offensive itself yet. By opinion of our expetrs Russians will try to breakthrough to Lozova of Kharkiv oblast from Balakliya - Izium area on the north and to Pavlodar, Dnipropertrovsk oblast from Vasylivka - Huliaypole area. And this can be outer line of encirclement of JTO. Also Russians can try to make the second, inner line of encirclement of JTO from Izium to Barvinkove and from Velyka Novosilka to Dobropillia - Pokrovsk. The Ukrainians are actually in a position to improve their deployments, in number, supply, equipment and positioning, which the Russians may well not be.
