  1. I'm playing @George MC's Red Thunder Campaign Five Days One Summer and I'm on the 4th mission. I set up an ambush with 3 tanks in the town of Gliniszcze, which has a border of trees on all sides about 20 meters wide. Shortly after I set them up 3 Soviet tanks arrive and I dispatch them pretty quickly. After a little while I see two more approaching. They get within and 30 to 40 meters of the tree line then stop. They then proceed to rake the entire tree line with their machine guns and main guns. This went on for about a full 10 minutes (10 turns) with them raking the whole line and concentrating on a small area in front of them with their main guns. I didn't have any units in or near the tree line. They blasted away an opening for them then they went in through the opening they made and stopped again. They again proceeded to start shooting at the next set of trees and the houses. I didn't have anybody in the houses either. My tanks were between some houses on the main road but I had to wait for them to get in the line of fire as since they were already facing me I couldn't approach them from the front for a shot and couldn't work my way around them as there were over watch tanks that would blast me since I would have been in the open. Eventually they worked their way into my tanks line of fire and I was able to get them both. I have never played a scenario where the designer had the tanks proactively started shooting at areas where the opponent might likely be. It's almost as they were thinking on their own. It added a bit more excitement to the game to say the least.
  2. If it's anywhere on the Eastern Front I hope that @George MC is working on it. His maps and scenarios are some of the best ever.
  3. I think that there is more that can be done on the Eastern Front. Just the size of the front, diversity of forces and terrain/weather provides near limitless historical and ahistorical scenarios.
  4. I think they have another Normandy module due soon too. Hopefully that will come out this year.
  5. Hope you got everything straightened out. I'm looking forward to its release.
  6. I couldn't post the picture any better but the Soviets had lost 60 tanks, 16 other AFV's lost, 971 KIA, 474 wounded I lost 14 tanks, 12 AFV's, 255 KIA 118 wounded. I played against the AI and that's what George recommends in the briefing. It would be very difficult to win against a human Soviet player with that kind of army. The Soviets still had at least 10 tanks left. I only had 7 left, 1 lost it's main gun and some were very low on ammo and I had no artillery left. Also quite a few of my remaining AFV's were out of ammo.
  7. Just finished @George MC 's Heart of the Dying Sun scenario and it's one of the wildest I've ever played, it auto ended with 43 minutes to go. For one look at the Soviet Casualties! Some parts of the battlefield you'd have a hard time not stepping on any bodies. The amount of Soviet artillery was amazing, there were very few turns where artillery wasn't falling. The Soviets must have literally fired over 5,000 shells, a lot of times the noise was just incredible, massive artillery, tanks, AA guns, machine guns firing, and Soviet planes flying around at the same time. The planes may not be too effective but after seeing them in here it adds a lot to the battlefield noise. At times it seemed like things were winding down but it was just a pause as the next human wave of infantry was coming through the smoke and dust. It's not that easy but a very fun scenario.
  8. No game is perfect and no game company has ever had a game where none of their customers ever had a complaint or didn't want any more improvements. Some people like CM, some like Graviteam, some any of the others of the myriad of WWII games. to each his own. Until a perfect game comes up we should be happy that the companies we support continue to make improvements and additions to our games.
  9. The vast amount of forces, terrain and weather on the Eastern Front still provide a near unlimited amount of possibilities. There were literally thousands of smaller but intense battles that were part of much larger campaigns that have never been mentioned and neve will due to combat records being lost or destroyed. Whatever can be imagined has the possibility of what could have happened. That being said you may want to see what's released with the new CMFB Downfall module later this month to see if you get any new ideas.
  10. As much as I like BattleFront it seems that the "bones" posts are much like political promises anymore.
  11. You can have them withdraw to an exit point at a set time.
  12. I don't have any of the modern games as I prefer WWII Eastern Front but Combat Mission Cold war just won an award for the best computer wargame. The category is near the bottom of the page. https://charlessrobertsawards.com/2021-winners/?fbclid=IwAR3_IFzobXQoAujp6DYu8hIQ5sTGRNjBwLRKZEjIIfq_nbnGJIcEleLiXg4
  13. Go to the main Battlefront page and download the 2.12 patch. Once you buy the Battlepack you will get an activation code. Then you activate the battle pack using the activation code for it. On your computer you should have a Activate New Products button from battlefront somewhere and that's how you use it.
  14. I think that Poland will take some sort of action. Either out in the open or covertly but they will do something on their own.
  15. It's been quoted before" Never interrupt your enemy while they are making a mistake"...
  16. I have it, read it and used it for my Tank Battle of Lisow scenario. It's really a decent book. It does cover some aspects of the battles from the German side. The main reason for having more Soviet information is that there isn't much information from the Germans due to incomplete records from them.
  17. A Panther tank weighs about 45 tons or so and was about 10 feet, 9 inches wide. The bridge may hold up to wheeled traffic but not to tank traffic. I don't think this would hold up to a Panther crossing over it.
  18. I think there would be quite a few people interested in this, me included.
  19. It looks like it's available now. It doesn't say Pre-order and I got an Email saying my order was shipped and I received my activation key. So is it really here now?
  20. With all the "behind the scenes" programming that BF has put into these games I don't think they have anything to worry about. At best it will be another game similar to Graviteam more than BF.
