They have probably more problems that we don't know about, and I hope that will be fixing soon, but fir my opinion, Is the first and last time that I make a pre-ordering, and waiting better to listening the first advices, critics, or whatever, from the announced product.

Two months after pre-ordering. Get on with it, BF.

create an exception in the 'Virus and threat protection settings' of Windows security to exclude the CM executable process.
If windows defender has been 'destroying' one's hard drive lately, there's probably a good reason for that.

Just FYI this file has the bug baked into the first turn replay. So, when the fix comes, the replay will be the same with the HTs still seeing through smoke. Once you advance to the next turn the fully spotted enemy units disappear and turn into ? icons. Your HTs cannot forget what they saw but no more seeing though the smoke :-).

You can repro the bug in 2.11 (needs F&R). Save file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7u8cnhv68rur81d/03_smoke_and_Halftrack_Turn_6_reply.bts?dl=0
Passengers in M5 halftracks (who are on the gun) can see enemy armour through thick smoke. Rest only start getting spots once the smoke starts clearing.

Evening. Was asked to pass this along from a Discord community where some players don't have forum accounts, so I have not independently verified.
Images of the apparent bug below with some context.

0005 Hours, condition: heavy snow. Artificial brightness is on, so don't be mislead by the image.

Similar conditions as to the first picture. German infantry had been engaged by the partial contact, a lend-lease HT.

Perhaps the most compelling proof. Test set up by a second player; thick smoke screen in front of infantry in and around treeline at night. Engaged with effect through the smoke.

I do imagine this has been reported before, and if so, I hope it's helpful to show the bug is still extant.

Grey_Fox reacted to domfluff in Assault, Squad Only
The Assault command can genuinely be useful, but it's always optional.
You typically really want to use it in a less than optimal situation, where you have to move your squad under fire, and need to supply your own fire support - i.e., when your situation is that you're pressed for time, out of position, and you need to accept risk to turn the situation around. Things have *gone wrong*, and you need to fix this before this scenario becomes permanent.
It's worth experimenting with it to understand how to use it.
If you plot Assault command moves, with target lines from each waypoint, then as soon as the moving element stops, they will open fire. This way, the squad keeps up a continuous volume of fire at the target, rather than hoping that the stationary element can spot things in time.
For this, you generally want to use it over short distances, and perhaps with multiple waypoints. It can be extremely useful, especially for things like Soviet dismounts, who should have their IFV also providing area fire at the same time - this way the squad is only ever moving a single team, whilst the other team and the ifv are mag-dumping into the targeted building or the like.
This will be extremely wasteful for ammunition, but that's sort-of the point - if you're doing this with a soviet section, they're performing their duty correctly. The ifv will have enough rounds to give them a single full reload, so you can do this twice a battle, but it's clearly an effective and useful way of doing things, and works well even with poor quality troops.
This is the kind of thing you really can't do manually, but it's a narrow use-case, and isn't the most efficient thing in the world.
If I was using infantry in a more precise mode, I wouldn't touch assault, and instead just spilt squads myself. This will be a lot slower, and the volume of fire will be less exuberant, but you won't end up spaffing thousands of rounds against an empty farmhouse.

I think it does affect acceleration. Top speeds are generally the same for different vehicle classes.
Yes, affects bogging +along with experience). Idk if it affects off-road speeds.

It is frustrating. Battlefront is a small company but it seems to have the agility of a developer 100x its size. It can be pretty slow to respond.

This is probably just due to vehicles covering less ground during those two minutes. It's been tested before that vehicle speed has no impact on the bogging risk.

I disagree with this. Your vehicles didn't just beam in to the battlefield Star Trek style from a factory. They've been on the move, so there is some bogging probability function in effect on every turn/minute.
Now, from asking around, I've got this:
    1. During Final Blitzkrieg development (and associated CM wide patches) Charles increased the probability of bogging on *all* terrain types, but not by the same amount. Greater increase in probability the worse the ground. This was to make FB mud more of a problem than it was, which was felt not to be enough to simulate really ugly terrain. Also stated was that previously there was almost zero chance of any vehicle bogging on clear dry terrain so the probability was upped very slightly.
    2. Page 47 of the Engine 4 manual states that crew quality matters:
"All vehicles are rated for Offroad performance. To some degree better quality crews lessen the chance of bogging. However, if you order a non-tracked personnel carrier to move across a muddy field the best crew in the world won’t likely help you out much."

So, put those two together and there you have your results. I really don't consider 1-4 vehicles bogging out of the 3 companies of armored cars to be much of an issue with Conscript crews, dry grass or not. The dry grass isn't representing a football field but countryside terrain. Maybe you want your vehicle crews to be one level up from Conscript, since the description says a Consrcipt has almost no training and no experience. The driver at least must have had SOME training.

my understanding of CM grass terrain is bumpy fields, not like a park.  Have you ever driven a vehicle off road -  through a cow pasture or such?  If you drive fast you will destroy a vehicle in no time.

Veterans did better in mine. Elite even better. There were several bogs along the way on each but except for one were momentary and the one recovered in less than a minute.
Also slowing down to "Move" rather than "Quick" the conscripts did much better. Only two bogs and they recovered in two minutes, where on "Quick" there were 4 bogs in one test and 2 became Immobilized. Another Conscript test on "Quick" though only had one bog. It was eventually immobilized.
I don't know how these affect the chances, other than what is in the Engine 4 manual. I *could* see bogging becoming more often for conscripts just from the description of them being raw, lack of training, no experience. Just how good are they at driving? And no ground is perfectly table flat like a football field. Even grass in dry conditions will have local undulations, ruts, a dry dusty soft spot. There is always going to be some non-zero chance.
I'll ask about the troop quality and bogging. I'm not convinced this is a problem or a feature of having a unit/crews full of conscripts. The price you pay, so to speak.

What version of the game are you playing? Javelin did have a bug where the missiles would not perform the top-attack portion and would just sail into the distance if fired in a certain direction.
