Howler reacted to MOS:96B2P in is it just me or is cmfb freakin hard
I also only play on Iron and in general I don't think CMFB is hard.  However, there are many different scenarios and of course some are harder than others.  There is also a learning curve with all the CM titles.  If you are having trouble with anything specific you should post the problem here in the forums.  Other players would enjoy assisting and all the lurkers that read but don't post might also gain some new tactical ideas .

Howler got a reaction from SlowMotion in Spotting for Artillery
If the spotter is eliminated during the 'receiving' or 'spotting' phases, the artillery will self cancel within a few minutes. If the spotter is eliminated and the artillery is in 'firing' mode then it will complete the mission and you have no means of ordering a ceasefire (as there is no spotter controlling the mission).
A spotter is free to move, fire, hide, etc. during the 'receiving' phase. In the 'spotting' phase, the spotter must be able to see the target (point, line, or area) to minimize the number of spotting rounds used to advance the artillery to a 'firing' mode.
The spotter must be within LOS of the target during the 'spotting' phase. The spotter can move, or act, freely during both the 'receiving' and 'firing' phases of the mission regardless of LOS. LOS is only important during the 'spotting' phase.

I like the suggestions. I would advocate for Canadian Forces to be included. Given a significant population of Canadians who descend from Ukrainians the connection is strong still and Canada has provided training and arms in real life. I feel confident that Canada would contribute troops to a NATO force in this fictional scenario.

I was going to make a list of things that Steve said as well, but you beat me too it.
I didn't mean to be slanderous or panicking mongering- beaning counting is what I do so it is what I thought would be helpful. Furthermore, to clarify I meant that his response of calling it a consequence doesn't sit with with me not his counter measures to make sure it wasn't something on his end (which is much appreciated BTW).  Something isn't right I feel, so I would like wait until the 'dust settles' with purchasing SF2 whether it is a just statistical bias or a problem with PayPal.
With that said I am going to quite posting late night, because I do ambit though well meaning my post came off as anything but.

I'm curious, what game have you *ever* played that didn't have such bias?  There are limits to everything and everyone (yes, including the game designer) has an opinion. Why waste your time playing a scenario you don't enjoy. Skip it and play the next one. There's plenty of content to play through. Spare yourself the frustration.

Your point being what exactly? Ah, yes - it must be the game... the limitations... the fantasy...
Come back to it when your more comfortable with fine movement and the use of engineers within 'the realm of CM'.
Choose another scenario and come back to this one once you're more comfortable with the mechanics and their limitations. Again, there's plenty of scenarios that are more readily approachable.

I've been experimenting with a 'night vision mode', to complement Ramblers mod, since "A day at the Beach'.
I'm still not happy with it, but it's getting there...

My engineers had no problems marking most of the mines within 10 minutes. Afterwards, at scenario end, I had  approximately 75% of the minefields 'marked'. The hard part is not in identifying the minefields -  it's in what you're going to do to bypass them. You have options.
Sounds like this is your first time encountering mines. Don't panic, let your engineers to their job. Then either call your 155s or pick a route through with the proper lead vehicles. Something that won't get skittish at the mere sight of an RPG...
One last hint - your infantry won't trigger AT mines.

I like the maps included in Black Sea's training campaign so I ported to Battle for Normandy, Final Blitzkrieg, Fortress Italy and Red Thunder to have my PixelTruppen train better.
More sweat, less blood they see...
To port the maps, I've used the novel Mutator tool developed by Stan Bobovych @sbobovyc, thank you Sir.

Well, it does feature good graphics by default. You know, you can just load up the game and play it, instead of overloading your mod folder, which you have this infatuation with doing.

Howler reacted to Bulletpoint in What would be your priority wish? More Families, or more content for existing Families?
I'd prefer them to develop a new engine that fixes and improves core issues, rather than new families or modules. Even now, and especially after all those modules finally come out, I think we're pretty well convered and that the CM2 engine should retire.
That's my opinion. I'm sure some people will disagree, and that's fine.

Howler reacted to General Jack Ripper in Tanks too reluctant to fire HE at spotted troops in buildings?
Most of the time, I use a Target Briefly on the building itself.
I have noticed, in CMSF2 at least, tanks are far more likely to sit and hose down a target with coax mg, especially if the target poses no threat to the tank.
If it's an AT team, they usually hit them with a few HE rounds double-quick.

A plain, sand colored paint scheme for the Syrian BMP-1 and BMP-2. The flag decal on the back hatches of the BMP-2 has been removed as well. There are no additional markings applied. This sand color is the same shade as the Sand T-72 pack  I’ve made, so they compliment each other.
For those of you who want an all tan Syrian mechanized fleet. Hope you enjoy!
As always, I am an amateur at modding, so all mistakes/errors are my own.

Howler got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in Small bug when displaying Javelin ammo
How certain are you that there is no ammo sharing happening with either a vehicle or troops nearby (within a couple of action spots)? Your screenshot is showing the unit has 3 missiles and another 2 missiles from ammo sharing.
Are you able to move the unit 3 action spots away from any potential source to eliminate ammo sharing as the cause?

Howler reacted to IICptMillerII in US Army Multicam Division Pack
This is a camo retexture that will change the appearance of US Army infantry to wear Multicam OCP. There are 5 divisions included in this pack. They are, the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division, the 1st Cavalry Division, the 2nd Infantry Division, the 4th Infantry Division, and the 25th Infantry Division.
All gear items such as holsters, mag pouches, backpacks, etc are in OCP as well. For the AR-670-1 enthusiasts out there, the boots have also been changed to be in regs with OCP.
All heavy units come with uniforms that replace the tanker uniforms to be OCP as well, but there are no divisional insignia on them.
To use, simply place the named folder (for example “Multicam 1st Cavalry Division”) into your Z folder.
You cannot use more than one division at a time, and the uniform files have not been mod tagged.

@Splinty and @sburke I know both of you were asking for some of the divisions included in this pack. Here ya go!
Hope everyone else enjoys. As always, remember that I am in no way a skilled modder. I'm very much an amateur when it comes to all of this. Any mistakes or errors are my own.
