As pointed out above, assets like the Wespe or the Priest can only be used in a direct fire mode if they are an on-map asset. You can only use them in an indirect fire mode if they were purchased as an off map artillery asset. 
On the other issue, when you want to issue an order to a on-map mortar, you need to have a radio and C2 link from the spotter to the mortar. There is an exception as explained in the CM Engine Manual 4.0 (page 77):
 

On-map self propelled guns and howitzers are not allowed indirect fire in CM. IIRC the rationale is that ranges for on-map fire would typically be too short for their trajectory to hit.

100% agree, and we actually need to export more gas to keep Europe supplied. And the more we export the less the Russians can charge, regardless of who they arfe selling to. The ban was a bad idea to start with, or brilliant way to get a bit of negotiating leverage the administration will be just as happy to give back.

Pres. Zelensky today signed decree lowering mobilziation age from 27 years to 25. It was voted by Verchovna Rada year ago, so now it seems it is closer from formal to actual mobilization.

Ok, so looking at the actual poll, this is typical media/political spinning. The headline conveniently leaves out that 70% think that the US should either continue or increase aid to Ukraine with the only split being whether it is given with or without oversight. 
The actual question (question 4 of the poll) was "How much of a role do you believe the US should have in helping to negotiate an end to the Russia-Ukraine war?" 71% responded with either a major role or a minor role by combining the two choices. The question was not what the headline above says and neither was the answer. Later on question 7, 69% respond that they support the US urging Ukraine to negotiate a settlement to the war. Maybe that is because most people want wars to end? 
In the end a typical poll with wishy-washy questions that can be interpreted to the will of whatever political slant one wants.

I play CMBN every day. Usually playing through CMBN's campaigns co-operatively with a friend at the rate of two moves per day. Playing co-op is a great simulation since you have control of only half of the force and personalities differ. Lots of fun.

Russian soldier avoided drone attack after long cat-and-mouse game, when it hit the ground and didn't explode, but then decided to blow it up by throwing of own rifle on it and then RPG, as result the drone exploded and killed or heavy injured him %)

It's because they are all familiar with the default Combat Mission UI and think that rifles should be green. They are probably wondering if it turns yellow when the owner is injured.

A few more very quick screenshots of the map progress. It's getting closer. When done, if there are any Afghanistan vets on the forums I would like to send the map to you to take a look at and recommend any improvements. I have tried to create a realistic map of this region as possible but I am open to any suggestions. As mentioned above nearly every meter of the map has micro terrain to battle through.

A few notes:
1. Many thanks to everyone who takes the trouble to send me kind emails with the first battle reports from the Eastern Front. I look forward to every AAR 👍
2. In order to avoid unnecessary confusion, I have sent the promised 20 mastermaps to @Bootie today, who promised to make the maps available for download in the near future. Thank you @Bootie 🙏
3. So far only one player has written to me that there were a few crashes in the scenarios (especially chapters I and II) that involve a lot of fortifications (trenches, barb wire etc.) --It seems as if this is a specific, individual problem for this  PC  🙏 .
Otherwise, I haven't heard of any technical problems (just like during the test phase). But if such problems arise, please feel free to get in touch.
4. If any player from my mail list is still missing the CampaignPack - please let me know, too. Actually I shouldn't have forgotten anyone, but you never know...😬

About a year ago there was a solo shooter at a local school here in Nashville, The Covenant School.  First arrival police went in immediately and worked the building as quickly as possible, lives were lost but few compared to what it could have been.  Have heard their reaction was textbook  and they saved a lot of kids by their actions.
Maybe the failures of the past are studied and lessons learned. 
(Have a friend who had two kids in the school that day, both unharmed but obviously shook.(

I placed a few units on part of dragonwynn's very cool Fallujah map and then took some screenshots.  This map has tons of potential.

These ISW guys are usually spot on.     

"Birds of Magyar" hit enemy FPV crew in the house in Krynky with two "fat drones" with 1,5 kg of HE payload. First drone destroyed upper floor, the second ruined ground floor and burried Russians in the basement
