Curiouser and curiouser.  I have all CMx2 products, just like the Sarge--I mean every game, module and pack, and all up to date.  I have the 4 Cassino maps in the Master Maps folder. (They are dated 8/9/2014.)  I guess Rocketman has you all covered, but just wanted to let Elvis know.  I have a PC in case that would somehow make a difference.

(I'm starting this as a new topic since the links to even the old pdf files will be changing.)
I just finished the pdf which shows all QB maps for CMBN. It is a huge file -- nearly 400 pages and 330MB -- and is HERE. (A smaller, lower quality version for CMBN is HERE.) Since Assault, Attack and Probe versions of the various QB maps usually vary only slightly, I only included Assault in these pdfs. Those and (I believe) all Meeting Engagement maps.
Also, the old dropbox links for the other 3 titles will be expiring, so I'm moving everything to this newer account. Here are the new links for pdf's for the other 3 WW2 titles:
    CMFB is here.
    Here is Red Thunder.
    And here is Fortress Italy.

Funny thing was that I had just read Bulletpoint’s comment about muddy/freezing settings—mentally agreeing with him completely—then immediately went to try out the new scenario. It literally wasn’t even 10 minutes later that I had the bogged/immobilized tank!

Just an FYI, Bulletpoint, but one of my PzIV’s bogged, then eventually immobilized, just north of the bridge when I pulled it off to the side of the road next to a hedge on Turn 2, lol!

I’m biased, because I always split squads not matter how large or small the battle. The only time I don’t is when moving up to the Line of Departure and the troops are very clearly out of the enemy’s sight. So my answer is “Split them”!😉

You can't, Jonzie.  French officers aren't coded like most other officers (no Junior/Mid/Senior texture designations). I do think they interact somehow with existing US 3D models, because they don't seem to have skeletons of their own, and the French in general use the US winter and toque faces/skins in addition to their own.  There is a lot of tagging of textures in this muodule. More than usual, it seems.  It's all a bit complex and perplexing if you ask me.  Makes what I wanted to do a bit harder.

Aragorn, I’m not sure, because there are a lot of different things to do; faces, beards, djellabas, plus there are different types of greatcoats to explore  from different countries so that varying combinations of skins can be used. I’m not explaining things very well, because I had carpal tunnel surgery today and I took a painkiller about an hour ago, lol! The surgery will slow me down , but Falaise sent me his textures today.  So I don’t know, a couple of weeks maybe? I had to completely redo the turban yesterday and I still couldn’t get it right. It’s a bitch to figure out how the various textures wrap around the model. On the other hand, the sandals and puttees work out pretty good.  Progress is occurring, lol! I’ll shoot some pictures in a few days when I can get back to it.

Believe me, just working with the various uniform and equipment combos with the many skeletons  (mdr/mds) files I can see what a bear this must have been for BFC to implement the numerous TO&E in the game.

mjkerner reacted to Vet 0369 in What makes this module worth buying?
There’s nothing wrong with or disloyal to decide not purchase a Family or module because it doesn’t “trip your trigger.” Both CMFI and GL were first day purchases for me, but I just recently started playing the Polish campaign in GL, and no scenarios yet. I have started playing the 10th Mountain campaign in R2V. I enjoy playing CMFI because I like to experience the changes in formations, TO&E, and tactics from 1943 to 1945.
I guess we all have our reasons to buy or not to buy, but none of them is disloyal to BFC. I get the feeling that the next modular for CMRT will be a “first day buy” for Aragon 2002, and that’s how it should be based on his interests.

    Well, of a sort, Aragorn.😀
As for language, they’ll be speaking French by default, which works good enough for me, but I’m going to try importing Syrian voices from CMSF2. That should work pretty good for those of us who don’t speak Arabic anyway.  (The Moroccan dialect would be different, but they are both Arabic speakers.)

Thanks MikeyD. I was hoping the module would have Goumiers so I wouldn’t have to make my own, cuz your artwork wouldn’t have needed modding.   I wanted to avoid tagging, but frankly hadn’t look that far into it yet. Without tagging, the djelleba shows up for both greatcoat options, Standard and FFD, but only in the winter months because greatcoat options aren’t available in other months. And thanks for the vote of confidence, Mr. Jonze!

Progress, but I will dump the turban.  (I whipped these ones up years back when I first tried to mod Goums, but was going to replace them with photo-real ones.) Trouble is, those damn officers!  Their skins (faces) use the same textures as the troops, so as you can see, they would have a turban as well. Also thinking of dumping the sandals (they'd be an option to use or not as you see fit anyway) but I need to find some photo-real sandals and puttees, then will have to chop them up into the texture file, so we'll see.  Besides, I love the game's default boots and leggings.
Also, might have to tediously go back and redo all the striping on the djellaba because of the way the the textures stretch when the pixeltruppen are moving.  And, djebalas don't have collars, but do have hoods,  so I don't know exactly how I am going to address those issues, if at all.  Now I remember why I dropped the ball on this mod back when, lol!

mjkerner reacted to Glubokii Boy in Here is What I Dont Understand about BF?
I have actually been thinking quite a bit about this the last couple of weeks and have come up with a 'concept' that I think would work really neat..😆...
Going by memory...I have not messed in the editor for a long time...due to not having had a gaming computer for a while....soon, soon I will have one ! 😎
As far as I remember though this concept should be doable and will be the first thing I will try ones I get my new machine.
What this concept will allow is a campaign with...
    - player adjustable difficulty level on the fly..
    - partially player selectable forces for each scenario..
    - equipment upgrades through the campaign.
    - experience loss (due to cassualties) and experience gain.
I belive I have found a way to do this without it being to much of a hassle for the player 😉..
I will obviously do some more research before getting cracking but what i'my thinking is to try and do a sort of semi historical campaign involving a kampgruppe from the 6th panzer division...
The basic kampgruppe will be the remains of a panzergrenadierbattalion from the 114th regiment supported by a few tanks from 11th panzer regiment as well as some artillery...
To complement this force the player will have a wide variety of other equipment from the divisions other formations to 'request' to be included in the kampfgruppe for the various scenarios.
This might be things like the odd Tiger tank from the 503 heavy tank battalion or a pair of 88mm AA-guns, some engineers or maybe an additional HMG platoon...some more infantry...
The player will be free to choose what he feels suites the situation best...there will be limits to these extra equipment though...
This will bring some variaty/ flexibility to the scenarios and also be part of the system to allow the player to 'tweak' the difficulty level...
For example for a particular scenario should you pick what might be the safest card...a pair of Tigers to complement your kampfgruppe or do you want to give yourself a bit more of a challenge and go with two StuG IIIS and a few AT-guns instead ?
    The player will choose 😎
Both the kampgruppe as well as all other formations comprising the 6th panzer division will upgrade their equipment as the campaign moves forward...
What i'm thinking is something like a 15 scenario campaign devided into a number of chapters..each being 3 scenarios or there about...
As of now i'm considering to start the campaign with the battle for Karkow in 1943...3 scenarios...and then move on to things like Korsun, Bagation, Hungary...
    3 battleso for each chapter...
Between each chapter there will be equipment upgrade as well as some experience gain/loss amongst the troops...
As said...I will do more research about the division before getting started to get somewhat correct locations, equipment and enemies...etc
And about the enemies..your troops will not be the only ones upgrading their equipment.. so will the enemy   😲
This is the plan 😎...it may well turn into nothing ones I start to put this concept of mine into test...it may not work..but I do belive it will. I will indeed give it a try...
It will no doubt be a long time project even if it works...A year at least I'm guessing...
I'm really eager to try this out though...if it works it would be... kind of cool 😊

Nope, the French aren't set up that way this time around.  Not sure why. Things are really different with this release. For example, some of the French skins (faces) like the toque-wearing winter ones are tied in with the US toque wearers  as they are named as if they are the US ones, but have a [france] tag added at the end.  I assume the officers are somehow tied in as well through the mdr/mds files???? Anyway, doesn't seem doable, Ollie.

The kepi of the game is a foreign legion kepi !!
The most common for the game is that of tirailleur whether he is Algerian RTA or Moroccan RTM with the blue sky "bandeau" I did neither the crescent nor the star Sherifian to be versatile !!!
The helmets of the North African troops were partly color mustard.
the factory helmet had a khaki color at the beginning of the war however the liberation army repainted its helmets in dark green and a part of the manufacturing had an aluminum crest and the paints peeled
finally I put leather jugulars on the tanker helmet

I'll be working on one after I get to the SF2 British uniforms I didn't finish last Spring. There are a lot more option with skins and whatnot with the release of R2V.
Edit: Loaded my old one form years ago into R2V and it works!  But this is a mod to the British uniforms.  Need to do it with the French.
