  1. My mod manager has shortcuts to both folders. Windows explorer can then show you the times created and all that.
  2. Make sure all the files are unzipped and down to the brz extension. You shouldn't have to reboot or mess around with the mod tools. . Also, make sure there are no other terrain mods in your data folder or z folder. Good luck!
  3. Thanks sawomi, sounds like you played it fairly historically. I'm really considering making this into a 3 mission mini campaign. Your results atte prefect for what happens next... Namely some horrific German counter attacks that push the rangers back to the Pointe.
  4. Thanks rocketman. It was s lot of work, so its nice that people are enjoying it. The link is really cool and if you watch it, this scenario is much better! I recommend it to everyone.
  5. What I do: Use the "Face" command to face the direction you want. Then use the "Smoke" command. This will have your guys toss the smoke grenades where you pointed them. I don't think you can cancel the order.
  6. My steelbox CMBN kicks ass! I've never seen such a high quality and nice looking package for a video game in my life! It's going on my shelf of honor. Thank you BFC!
  7. I agree with you 100% Mattias. I don't really understand how it could be "gamey" with the proper penalties associated with leaving a weapon. I pushed my arguments with Steve and Charles as much as I could without making myself a nuissance, but they didn't buy it .
  8. My Pointe du Hoc scenario wasn't really designed to win points. I tried to keep it somewhat historical and used whatever tricks I could think of point-wise to get a decent outcome. I admit, though, that it could have been better. As long as the US (player) objectives are mostly met, you're pretty much going to "win". The thing is, I was less concerned with winning or losing and more concerned with trying to give the player more of an organic feel, like he's actually commanding the Rangers on D-Day. I'm interested in opinions regarding this type of design. Should scenario designers do this? Or should they always go for a more balanced approach with both sides having the same point budgets?
  9. I don't think it will change (or be fixed). BFC thinks it will lead to a lot of "gamey" play. I tried to argue my point, but they refused. Bottom line is... "take your guns to town, Bill, don't leave your guns at home son, take your guns to town."
  10. Great thread Mord. I hope this gets stickied!
  11. 1. Go into the scenario editor. 2. Load a scenario that is already there. 3. Go to the "Mission" screen (highlighted in red). 4. Select the "Mission" section, below the red part. 5. Select "Text" to go to the text portion. 6. Click "Export" to export. You'll have to give it a name. 7. It will export to the "Game Files" folder. 8. Here, you can look at it. It's a regular old .txt file. 9. You can now edit that and replace any text you want to. Be sure to leave the "^" symbols in the text document. This is a delimiter that separates the sections of the briefing. 10. Once edited the way you want, simply put into the same Game Files folder and Import it. Save your scenario.
  12. tiger, Make sure you're selecting Airborne units as well.
  13. Mord, going to try it out tonight. I've really been wanting this for some time. My only concern is that everyone will have the same voice. Any chance of adding more voices in the future (other actors)?
  14. You cannot toggle the bases. There are a few mods that might help you though. Check out the repository for base mods that may brighten up your unit bases.
  15. I think there's a BFC vanity license plate on one of the vehicles as well.
  16. rocketman (cool name by the way, you ever seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN3MGN899yE), Yes, just create a folder in the Data folder named "z". Then unzip the mods and drop them in the z folder. That's it! Have fun!
  17. Thank God for their sacrifices! If they had not been able to do what they did, the world would have been much worse off. Not one man fired in vain that day. Thank you allied troops!
  18. An earlier version of the pointe du hoc scenario showed that the pillboxes can be quite robust. The testers ran out if ammo before taking them all out. Maybe you guys should try to get your desired effect by adding more bunkers with less heavy weapons for the attackers. Maybe put your german fo's in the pillboxes add well so they don't die as easily.
  19. Looks like the Mac users may have to wait for a fix. Sorry Mac guys!
  20. One of my favorite game ww2 voices was from company of heroes: "God Damn GI's, make me proud!" in a raspy old sarge type of voice. I'd really love to have something like that for cmbn.
