FMB, I love it man! I played it way back in the mid Beta stages (twice). This is one of the most innovative campaigns to date, if the the most innovative. The story line in the Designer's Notes section kept me at the edge of my seat. The ability to make decisions is also super cool. I love it man! Great work!

A salute to all the modders of CMBN!
theFightingSeabee replied to Aragorn2002's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Silkwraith, The Battlefront.com repository is at http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314 . You will need to log in. Another option is GreenAsJade's mod warehouse: http://cmsfmods.heroku.com/mods?game_type=4&show_all=true# . I think he is working on a CMBN section. To install the mods: 1. Download them. 2. Unzip them. 3. Make a folder named "z" inside the games Data folder. 4. Drop your mods into the Data/z folder you just created. 5. That's it! To remove them, clear out the z folder. -
Pointe du Hoc v1.0 is FINAL! I have just uploaded it to the repository. It will take a little while before they publish it. Also, I've uploaded the Pointe du Hoc Mod Pack. Please install these mods before playing! Thanks to Battlefront.com, handihoc, Thomm, and Paper Tiger. I owe them some beers.

That's some really cool stuff, guys. I love watching all the experiments like this.

Yeah, it's hard for some of the BFC team to see their work changed so quickly, but the core game is what counts the most. The modders just give us a little more to work with and they help extend the life of the game. Good job to BFC and the modders!

I have a mod manager for CMSF. Soon, I'll be adapting it for CMBN. The CMSF one should work, though. Look for z-bee 1.4 on the repository.

Veins Germans & 2nd Rangers (pic heavy)
theFightingSeabee replied to Vein's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Vein, The short tracers are amazing! It looks extremely authentic when in action. I noticed they also have little vapor trails behind them. Nice touch. I'm really liking this mod dude! -
Veins Germans & 2nd Rangers (pic heavy)

Still not seeing these up on the repository. -
Yeah, it should work. Been slowly working on a special version for CMBN though.

I'm going to have a mod pack. Vein will let me use his 2nd Rangers mod. Also, LongLeftFlank inspired me to make a "surf" mod for ambient sound. It really adds a lot of atmosphere. It's coming together quite nicely!!! I think this will be the most realistic digital recreation of Pointe du Hoc EVER MADE!

Scenario Editor messed up?
theFightingSeabee replied to Hafer's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I can't find it now, but there was a thread with a NATO modern battle tank in a ww2 scenario. Does this have anything to do with this problem? -
Tank formations ?
theFightingSeabee replied to JG11Preusse's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
No, sorry. You have to do it manually if you need any formation. -
How to align AI infantry to walls/bocage?
theFightingSeabee replied to Rokko's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Rokko, looking at your very first screenshot, I've found that it works pretty well to increase your brush size one unit more than it is in that shot. Keep the center the same as in the screenshot, but just increase the brush size by one level. I've noticed that the infantry will basically butt up against the bocage in the direction you want. Hopefully that'll help you. -
I have those pointe du hoc maps but I'll bookmark the site. Thanks man!

what file to extract to....
theFightingSeabee replied to G B Scurlock's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Same thing with all mods. Just put then in the data/z folder. When you don't want them any more, just remove from z. -
Hey Vein. You think I could grab that mod?

Bocage + pathfinding = rage
theFightingSeabee replied to LemoN's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Bocage has also dominated Normandy! Tedious bocage fighting is why the invasion went much slower than the generals had planned. Take a look at this: http://www.google.com/search?q=bocage+tactics&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7ADBF_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1897&bih=851 -
Not finding contour map mod
theFightingSeabee replied to Gromit's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
GAJ, there's one on your website, but I haven't tested it out. ?? -
I'm feeling pretty good about the Pointe du Hoc scenario. Anyone feel like testing it? I'd like to get another opinion on whether it's ready or not. I can beat it easily but I know where all the enemies are. PM me with your email and I'll send it. Thanks!
