  1. Brilliant! Good job! I had to save those pics. Did he use his ivory handled pistols?
  2. I'm glad you like it. To be honest, this was my least favorite of my 3... I had much greater aspirations for this one, but I was just not able to realize what my imagination dreamed of. There should have been TWO battalions of Italians attacking! But it just chugged way to hard to make it a reality. Not to mention I would have needed to have A LOT more ammo available. Also, playing as the US, you really don't have a whole lot of options for maneuvering. Just set up, sit back, and call in the big guns. As far as exiting Patton goes... this sounds like a bug. The Italians have an unknown objective where they get 100 points if Patton dies. The US gets no points in regards to General Patton. The idea is that exiting his unit will deny the Italians of a lucky 100 points. It seems as if the Italians are getting the points if he exits. I'm going to test this and if it is happening, I will report this as a bug. Thanks! **UPDATE** I tested this out. I exited Patton in the first 30 seconds of the game. All 4 men left successfully before a single shot was fired. The Italians did not get 100 points for killing Patton, BUT after a cease fire, it showed 2 men killed! I'm going to report this as a bug. Thanks Rake! **UPDATE 2** Now I cannot seem to recreate it. I got it to happen twice, but have tried a dozen more times and it works fine. (???)
  3. Well... Ok then! Even better! If you make it with 50% casualties, then you're doing just fine. I guess the AI is doing a pretty good job of using it's artillery. I'm glad you are doing it as the Italians! Cool!
  4. It is now! Man, I am sincerely sorry about that. I hope too much of your time was not wasted. This mission was never really meant to be played as the Italians because it may end up being far too easy. Still, you should be able to use the artillery available! If you ever get the hankering to replay it, make sure to add an FO in the editor. Sorry again.
  5. Wow, that guy is what douches use to clean their ******s. The worst thing about the internet is people like that don't have to pay for what they say. Since a large portion of us are veterans, the first insult out of his mouth would most likely be the last. I doubt he would have such courage without the anonymity of the internet.
  6. But at the same time, a simple answer works better than a chastisement and this thread would have been done by now. A lot more effort has gone into teaching someone a lesson than just answering the question. Hopefully a fan of the game (and paying customer) wasn't ran off.
  7. Regardless of the score, you are doing better than the Italians did in real life. They were decimated in the open by a handful of Sherman tanks and the Italians didn't have any tanks. Those are there to give them a bit more of a chance. Sounds like you're doing ok under the circumstances!
  8. You're the first to play it head to head. I think it may be very unbalanced for that, but I'm interested to hear how it turned out.
  9. Spoiler.... You should only get the two tanks you started with and then two reinforcements. But this is best blue vs ai, so it may end up being too easy for you.
  10. I've got a huge one towering over the top of my house. It's a cool tree, but I'm worried about it falling through my living room.
  11. I'm also an hd 1920x1080 user. I will be really nice when the interface matches my screen. In the same breath, I hope it also happens with the text size in the briefing screen.
  12. I'm happy you enjoyed Catch a Tiger! I also like the smaller scenarios. As soon as I get some time, I would love to make a few new ones. I've already began one, but it needs a lot of work before I can let it out. Either way, I'm sure you'll be seeing a bunch coming out as the weeks go by.
  13. I feel like maybe a couple people need some tips. Ctrl-click: instant zoom to the point of the click. Tab: snap to selected unit. Hold one mouse button to look around. Hold the other to move smoothly around. Move the mouse to the edges to move/turn. Use move buttons to move. Use number buttons to jump elevations. Use mouse wheel to switch elevations. X and Y: zoom in and out. V: about face! Basically, it's got all the movement types possible. It's very similar to the Total War games but with even more freedom, especially being able to move the camera higher off the ground and being able to adjust when locked on a unit. I'm all for constructive criticism; lord knows I've given BFC a ton; but I dont really understand the problems with the camera. Any game you play is going to take a bit getting used to, but the CM camera is one of the least restrictive.
  14. There are hundreds our thousands of things bfc has on their to do list. Trust me, they are busting their asses to do them. But if they don't finish them all in a year, then do we want them to hold off until they are done and the game is perfect in every way, or would we rather take the improvements as they come? I'd rather take the incremental improvements so I have something to play! Imagine if e were still waiting on Normandy! As far as the camera goes, it suits me just fine. I can move ask over the map instantly and view from any angle I want. I can snap the view to any unit instantly, track a moving unit, etc. I'm not sure how it could be improved... It's very close to the classic total war style and I like it a lot. The review, well, is just one guys perspective. We all have our wants and expectations. The one thing he may have overlooked is that the CM series is still the cutting edge of the genre. No one else comes close.
  15. There are no bocage-like walls. Now that we're all masters of bocage fighting, we've got to rethink our tactics. Its really interesting to me. As far as I know, any unit can go through grape vines. Vineyards sit on rough terrain tiles, so I think it's the same as traveling over rough terrain.
  16. Wow, that's dedication! I hope bfc can help you out since you paid twice. You should have gotten your activations for the first one.
  17. I've been told that there is no deactivation. Not sure what to tell you except hopefully you'll get bfc to help you out.
  18. Try to deactivate and then activate. I don't think you can have more than one.
  19. The way I did it was pretty easy. I over nuked it at first, but just keep it simple. 1) Find your area in google earth and mark a corner with a pin. 2) Use the measuring tool to find your other 3 corners. It's hard to get a perfect rectangle but do your best. 3) If you have windows 7, use the snipping tool to get your cropped map. For elevations, I used the polygon tool in google earth and raised it so it was barely showing. Then I used the line/path tool and traced the contour. Then I would bump up the elevation of the polygon 10m and trace another contour. I labeled each contour with a pin and the elevation. Once in the editor and properly sized, the elevations are really easy to trace using the direct elevation option. I was able to get map contours looking very realistic using this method. I hope this helps!
  20. Welcome Roc! You've landed yourself in the right place. There are a lot of great mods out there. I would say to just try them all! But my favorites are akd's sound mod, JuJu's UI, Vein's tracers (short), and there are also some GREAT fire mods. There are tons of other mods out there, just mix and match, but the ones I listed are my essential mods.
