  1. While I've been waiting for my pre-order to be shipped, I won a free copy of Close Combat:TBF and decided to buy Armored Brigade to go along with it. Am now in no rush.
  2. Some people solely play Quick Battle, so that would be a loss of income if they provided that for free.
  3. The wait is what it is and seems pretty consistent with their MultiMan Publishing counterparts. Not that they like any comparison, but again, it is what it is.
  4. Disappointing indeed. I own pretty well everything from the CMx2 catalog and 2 copies of CMx1. A developer's blog and/or an occasional update on the homepage would be nice. In the meantime, waiting for an update on their homepage is like watching paint dry, or better yet, a pitch drop experiment: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch_drop_experiment
  5. I'm good with this update and will continue to purchase and keep my Combat Mission titles up to date and with all add-ons. . . which happens to include their entire WWII CM catalog, CMX1 included.
  6. I covered the trenches on the 'left' side of the map and nearby guns with a LOT of smoke and then assaulted with infantry to take them out. Didn't work that way at all. My platoons got across the open field without much difficulty, but as they entered the trenches, they were wiped out. Think I'll try to find an easier scenario for now and come back to this some other time. . .
  7. Well, I finally bought the CMAK/CMBB bundle as the Vista compatible demos worked on my ASUS M50VM-A1 Win7 laptop. I've also pre-ordered Normandy as well (hoping for the best). I guess you can consider this issue resolved.
  8. I'll try setting my Geforce 2 GTS/Pro to 16 bits with a reasonable refresh rate and see what happens. Alt Tabs, waiting for 20 minutes, patches, various drivers, etc do not seem to work with the black screen I've been having with Combat Mission these past months. It never did work for me with W2K or WXP on the same hardware. It does work with the ATI 7000 I have at work though. Oh well, at least VASL works.
  9. I think I'll try REAL Leadtek drivers when I get home tonight and not generic NVidia ones. The current one from them is 43.51. Update: These don't work either. I think it's time for me to give up and look elsewhere. Onto www.vasl.org. Thanks for your help folks!!! [ October 30, 2003, 03:28 PM: Message edited by: Johnny Canuck ]
  10. Actually, I've now got XP with SP1, and current patches. As far as drivers goes: I had 45.23 I now have 52.16 Sounds like that 328310 may already be embedded and uninstallable. Update: I've now gone back to 45.23 as 52.16 hosed my Command & Conquer installation, and didn't work with CMBB anyways.. [ October 27, 2003, 04:30 PM: Message edited by: Johnny Canuck ]
  11. You're right Harry, That article of his is quite spectacular. Unfortunately, after looking at my Add/Remove's, I don't appear to have 328310 loaded. I'm thinking of loading/unloading it though, just to be sure.
  12. I have installed CMBB demo on my W2K workstation, and again when I reformatted and replace it with WXP. On both O/S, the screen went blank when I started the CMBB demo. I've got a GeForce GTS with current NVidia drivers. Anti-aliasing was turned off and CMBB was minimized/maximized, and stayed black. My normal screen resolution is 1024x768 @ 72 hz 32 bit. Oh, and it's AMD 1.4G on MSI 6330 Mobo with 1.5G of RAM. Going to old drivers is not an option for me. Any help would be appreciated.
