    Alarmeinheiten (Alarm unit) is an almost complete new scenario for CMRT.  It is actually a mini-campaign but with only one actual, three hour long, battle scenario.  The first scenario is a “choice” scenario where the player is able to choose some of the vehicles he will command in the “real” battle scenario.  It includes ammo dumps so it is recommended to play on Iron or Elite. 
    Description: Command a German alarm unit (Alarmeinheiten).  Maneuver the alarm unit in multiple attacks and counter attacks across a 13½ square km map.  Axis vs Soviet AI only.    
    The original idea was to attempt to get many of the rare and seldom seen vehicles into the scenario.  Upon reviewing the scenario @Sgt.Squarehead pointed out that while it might be fun it would not be realistic to have so many different rare and limited vehicles fighting together in the same units on the same section of front at the same time.  As a result, the “choice” scenario was created.  The player can choose mostly standard and common vehicles or many limited and rare vehicles.  The three hour long battle scenario will then be fought with the choice made in the first scenario.  The four AI plans are the same for both.  Only some of the player's vehicles are different depending on the choice.

    The map used for the scenario is a modified Der Ring Der Five Panzer map made by @George MC.  George gave permission to use his map which is about 13 square kilometers.  Der Ring Der Five Panzer is an excellent scenario which is so huge it plays like a static campaign.  I recommend this scenario.  See link below.

    The scenario currently has three of four AI plans completed.  It also has placeholders for partisan units and an SS unit.  It should be ready for release soon after CMRT Fire & Rubble is released. 
    Some of the recent screenshots posted in the CMRT screenshot thread have come from testing this scenario.  Below are a few more screenshots.

    I think you should be able to use the CD key. I have CMBN, CMFI and CMRT CD versions but I never even unpacked the CD so it should work just fine with the downloaded installer.
    Yes, you can also install it on your laptop, I do the same. You should be able to have at least 2 active installations before it complains.

    CM Cold War takes place on the cusp of big changes happening to both the American and Soviet armies. The arrival of Abrams and Bradley changes the nature of the fight in Europe. Also in this time frame we get a fashion change! See attached, the Americans switching to battle dress uniform. This is new-new art that's still not in the current Beta so you won't see it in any of the posted screenshots. Please forgive my crappy graphics card.

    If anyone would like to playtest the CMRT Romanian Mod a bit, please PM me. I need a few guys to be eyes for us to help us make a good product. I will have a tiny scenario ready in about a week to show the playtesters some of what we have done. We = kohlenklau, @3j2m7 and @Juju with @Probus coming aboard just yesterday.
    There is still work to do and iron out how stuff looks of course but a lot has been done.

    I hope Bil doesn't mind but the evolution of the Dollbach map. Note the map image predates the autobahn and bridge. It also gives an overview of the battlefield for those that like that kind of detail

    well thank you for the dedication.  This was the focus of most of my boardgame purchases.  Gawd so many.  MBT, IDF, Air and Armor and those were just the tactical.  Went all the way up to The Next War and NATO.  Even went so far as to include 2nd Fleet to determine if NATO convoys would be able to cross the Atlantic....  This is my retirement year and you gave me the game I've waited decades for Bil/Capt.  Nice timing, how did you know?

    Open response to @chuckdyke: If you really do think the rules are nonsense then I am not even sure why you come in this thread and attack them... of course you are going to get a reaction from me.  This thread has always been about discussion and exploration of the topic (simulating Command & Control (C2) and C2 Friction).
    The game is awesome, but it isn't perfect, my rules don't make it perfect either, but they do add a layer of command friction for the discriminating player that doesn't exist normally.  That is all we were trying to do with them.  They are about adding another level of experience that few wargames touch.
    It might be that you have a point and I'd be interested in pursuing it, but let's have a civilized and open discussion.  I have made edits to the rules several times due to the feedback and discussion in this thread (and others) and am always open to new interpretations, ideas, and exceptions... maybe you'll even come to understand why a rule is worded a certain way and actually appreciate why they were created in the first place.

    Mate, "the man" is the main author of the rules. If a random person walking down the street, took a look at your front yard and yelled in the general direction of your house "your garden is a shambles, what nonsense!" you'd probably not be amused.

    I would be interested in that. 
    On CMx2 level in essence it isn't even that different compared to trying to keep all platoons under command organized and in c2, which is beneficial to performance anyway (although the structure of forces becomes more important I think).
    Actually considered/had plans with one of my regular PBEM opponents to play our next game with these rules. But we have gone for huge games since and while it could be technically very well possible to play huge games like that, I think the challenge of playing those in regular fashion is/was large enough to not seek 'extra challenge'.

    I love the rules myself, gives each engagement a realistic feel of C&C and I wish I'd played against more players who'd use them. I'd love to do a HardCat rules of engagement campaign.

    The GMT 40,42,43 & 44 games are great but with battalion size battles/formations will drag out the campaigns as @Erwin mentioned, which usually fizzle out.
    You might want to narrow your focus to smaller engagements, check out the Standard Combat Series from Multi Man Publishing (MMP) they're company size battles (for the most part).
    There's an interesting one for the battle of Bastogne called 'Bastogne: Screaming Eagles Under Siege'  (Vassal Link).
    I had started to build a Vassal Module for the Noville battle, details can be found over at the FGM here, it's not a finished project, there's still work to do.
    One tip I'll give you before you start any campaign, have the CM battle maps built beforehand, it'll will make life a lot easier.
    I'm currently using vassal for a small campaign using CMBS, small unit engagements, it's in it's testing phase but early indicators look good.

    @BletchleyGeek and @Splinty, modify the rules anyway you want.  
    I doubt though that a Company CO would send a valuable mortar crew on a scouting mission even if their tube was unusable.

    No Borg Spotting for artillery and aircraft (helicopters). I make sure that the observers have at least a contact icon where they want to call a fire mission. I call 'Borg Spotting' what I see on the screen when nothing is selected.
