  1. Just seemed like a potential way of beefing them up.
  2. Yes. But there's a door (& windows) on the problem side and there doesn't appear to be anything on the OK side.....To me that looks like a clue. If I were guessing, there's probably some sort of (IMHO dubious in this instance) abstaction going on related to that door (&/or windows).
  3. That looks pretty good.....Kind of reminds me of CM1 for some reason.
  4. Don't my screenshots from every single game in the CM series count? Most of them are from the editor and you don't get that in demos.
  5. Sturmtiger is not a good example TBH, horribly complex & expensive things, nightmare to use.....The Germans only made eighteen AFAIK.
  6. Yeah.....Units shouldn't be able to run though the corners of interlinked building clusters either, but they can and they sometimes do.
  7. Try taking on some Syrian SoF mixed with Combatants on an urban map that you have to enter to capture the objectives.....They should prove plenty resilient.
  8. I'd certainly hope they are doing just that and plenty more besides.
  9. CM is kind of technical, if you can't tell, or don't care about, the difference between an APC and an armoured car, you are going to be in for a good hiding.
  10. That's actually a very good point.....It might be possible to make this scenario more balanced for HtH play (or Blue vs AI) with brutal casualty parameters for the British force (imagine what the tabloids would say), plus strict ROE combined with plenty of preserve objectives (some of them hidden) to represent the need to avoid collateral damage and harm to civilans. However it would then be ridiculously easy to win the scenario as Red vs AI, because the AI is thick and it doesn't much care about casualties.
  11. Erratically? Let's face it, even a broadsword is not completely obsolete, provided one's tactics allow it to be used appropriately!
  12. Pretty sure 'rushing in where angels fear to tread' is not broadly recommended, but it often feels like scenarios pressure one to do exactly that. PS - The fact that CM:SF2 can simulate 'Shock & Awe' is pretty impressive.....With a properly set up surprise attack it's possible to take positions with little to no casualties on either side.....The Syrians just panic, then surrender!
  13. TBH the short times available for a lot of stock scenarios don't help on this front.....CM:SF2 can quite accurately model the one sided murder that a first world force can inflict on a second/third world force, assuming the player is given the time to commit his units favourably. I recently started the CM:SF2 UK campaign again, I'm confident that I could do several of the missions with no casualties whatsoever, given more time. In summary, for modern warfare titles, IMHO it would be much more realistic to give the Blue player truly stringent casualty parameters (10% casualties in a single engagement (or a single burning tank) should be a national catastrophe), but also plenty of time to let their men do their work.
  14. I'd agree, this says a lot more about poor A2AD capabilities on Armenia's part than it does about tanks.
  15. Getting kind of used to it myself TBH. Off to Google 'hump-shunting'.
  16. Does anyone know if it makes a bigger difference in a campaign format (ie: are wounded dudes who receive buddy aid more likely to appear in the next mission regardless of the campaign script)?
  17. I'm trying to picture the expression on your face when they told you about that one!
  18. I don't believe they are walls that can be damaged.....I believe they come pre-damaged (they're shown in some of the earlier screenshots IIRC). @BFCElvis.....Any chance of an extra piccy or two of these (and any other new map goodies) at all?
  19. We have always been able to damage buildings. Damaged walls are a new terrain tile type which is being introduced in the forthcoming module.
