F**k yeah! That sounds about as legitimate as a nine pound note. -

Note that I didn't say that I never do it, merely that I don't like to do so as it feels like cheating somehow. -
Laser Warning Systems on Vehicles

Especially when playing Russia against the US.....TBH this game is going up in my estimation. I still think the T-90AM (& hopefully the T-72B3M & T-80BVM if we can persuade Battlefront to add them) should me moved a little closer to spotting parity.....It really can feel like US units are engaging 'cloaking devices' they way things stand now. -

When I said "we'll ditch the truck once we get there", this was not what I had in mind. -
Well I do know a man who probably could swap the objective located noise for "GI, me love you long time!", but it would probably seem a bit inappropriate when your reinforcements arrived or you captured an actual objective.

Will Russia Attack Ukraine in September?
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Armorgunner's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Somewhere other than Ukraine, clearly. Should we do a list of countries invaded by Russia in the 21st century.....Compared to say, the US? It might prove enlightening. -

Finally saw this in action with my Abrams Killer T90AM last night (in an epic playthrough of @George MC's 'Rolling Thunder').....Is this something that was introduced with a patch? I've been playing CM:BS a long time now and I've genuinely never seen this before. -

Ideally for me the final entry would be probably made by one or more of the team(s) that had been providing suppressing fire.....The initial assault teams would now cover their advance. I hate doing that.....Nothing kills immersion and realism like sudden acts of god! Even while testing Heaven & Earth jungle-fighting I tried to keep trees on (purely for immersion) and as I've said before I'm tying to learn how to make maps which actually hide the presence of fortifications. -

Nope.....I get another section or squad to do my suppressing, I want the assaulting teams free to fire at anything they see. A Target Briefly prior to the Assault using the timer can work, but generally I prefer to leave these teams to their own devices. If I can get 'em within a tile or two of the bad guys in reaonable order, their grenades should do the rest. I'd suggest that you have absolutely no idea of just how much testing I do. -
Shakespeare wrote on this subject IIRC: Only teasing! TBH I suspect we'll never know the truth of it.....So choose the version you like and stick with it.

IIRC the Valentine production lines were kept running solely to meest Soviet demand.....Just as you say: They couldn't get enough of them! Me too.....Thanks for your efforts. -

Azov eh? Guess that makes this comment just a little bit inappropriate.....Not to mention utterly wrong, politically biased, uninformed & all the rest. -

It seems then that we are looking at 'Photo of unidentified bloke, plus weepy girlfriend'.....So, who's making the mod then? -

We got 'em all! Russian Tactical Victory.....I'm well pleased with that in CM:BS! TBH I'd have done a bit better if I'd called a ceasefire earlier, a late arriving Apache took out my Tunguska and then had a field day! Great scenario, but I knew it would be, it's one of yours. PS - Outta likes again! PPS - I'm going to go further.....TBH that was the most enjoyable CM:BS scenario I have ever played, it genuinely felt like either side could win at any time, which isn't an easy balance to strike in this game. Kudos! -

Nope.....Unusually for me I withdrew a T-90 at the right time, the US armour turned it's attention to my infantry, and their backs to the T-90, so I sent him charging in.....I was expecting him to eat a Javelin, but nope he wound up behind the US force at point blank range and then he started shooting first! He's after an Abrams hat-trick.....Just lining the fekka up now, he's side on! -

@George MC Your plan.....I think I broke it: He's on 2xM1A2s & 3xM2s so far, all of them burning (he's just pausing to machinegun their crew).....I've got a plausibly immobilised, well & properly artillerised, Abrams lined up for him next. I'm amazed to find myself slaughtering US forces this way.....And they seem to outnumber me in armour too! PS - Wish I could have made a video of this guy steaming down the hill and up behind the US armour, the panic was almost palpable! -
If you have the neccessary sound files I probably know a man who can.....Whether he would is another question of course!
-
That's a point! I completely forgot about that.

If my understanding is correct, the save file has become too big for the allocation of memory that CM can use.....This is all a bit above my pay grade TBH, @Schrullenhaft would probably know more & @BFCElvis may be able to help too. Sorry I can't offer more.

If I had to guess, an 'Out Of Memoy Error'. Does exiting the game completely then reloading fresh seem to help (at least for a while)? I had to take similar steps when dealing with constant OOMEs in testing a CM:A scenario.....The crash was similar to what you describe, but in those instances I did get a notification of an OOME.

That can effectively be done in the editor, simply add another battery under a reinforcement called 'Artillery Resupply'.....It's a bit artificial, but it does the job. I have the former.....On my own version of my CM:BS Trumpton City Centre map there are a couple of hidden exit zones for each side. When troops enter the location, you get the usual 'Objective Located' crunch and text pops up, including: "Alcohol Cache - Troops Get Drunk" "Functioning Brothel - Troops Desert" And your toops will leave the battlefield.....If you are lucky you'll find it at the end of a turn and be able to restore discipline, if not they're gone! Obvioulsy I don't use Destroy Unit Objectives on infantry when this feature is active.....Vehicles are still fair game though.

+1. "Stay still & shoot you cowards!" Interesting.....I've seen some articles that suggest the Radars for APS have a very readily detectable signature. CM:BS (& now CM:SF2) have a new EW metric, but retain the old Intelligence system. I wonder if this shouldn't be expanded or complemented by a Surveillance metric (which could be countered in part by enemy EW). Thus regardless of the Intelligence setting, vehicles with a prominent radar emission signature could show up as contact markers for the other side, depending on the strength of opposing Surveillance (mitigated by friendly EW).
